Was so glad my Jets stuck to their guns that year with Leinart still on the board and pick D'Brickishaw Ferguson. He's one of the best blockers in the league. On top of that, we ended up with a much better USC QB three years later in Mark Sanchez.

Matt Leinart is the man! , H e will do a terrific job at bringing the cardinals to the promise land. Now that kurt is not lurking behind his shoulders matt can focus now on being the leader. As far as Leinart not having nfl proven statistics, its not his fault, the cardinals were not what they are now and with beanie wells in the back field with hightower and a proven wideout to throw to Leinart will not be pressured to produce 50 passes a game. The cardinals have a solid coaching staff now.

How is Leinart overrated? In 2006 he did great, especially when you take into account that the o-line was pathetic. In 2007 he had only one bad game and the other 4 games he either did good or split time with Warner. Things were going great for him until he broke his collarbone.

how is Leinart not overrated? he was a potential # 1 pick in 2005. He stays another year (bad decision) and drops to # 10 overall in 2006. lets take a look at his draft class. Young, Jay Cutler, and Broadie Croyle are starting. Leinart just lost his starting job (again) but to journeyman Kurt Warner. Leinhart has Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald at WR with E. James at Rb. So it's not like he doesn't have talent. whew....these are just a few example of why Leinart is overated

First off Kurt Warner isn't starting. It was some bullshit story made up by ESPN (shock!). He's done great all offseason except for the bad game in the raiders and Whisenhunt is giving him an extra chance.

Yes, he is surrounded by talent. That is why this season will be his breakout season. With a better o-line and stronger running game a load of pressure will be lifted off of him.

That was about ESPN shooting the gun when it comes to stories without any actual proof, they just happened to be right for once. It was also about Leinart's ability to lead the team.

Kurt Warner is a terrific QB and will win the NFC West offensive player of the year. My original thought was that if Leinart proved to be a good success, Warner would be traded off to a team that needs a QB. It's not a crazy idea either. If he wasn't starting in AZ, he'd probably be wearing a Patriots jersey now.
