The first line of the song goes "Saturday morning serials, Chapters 1-15" They are referring to the cliffhanger movie serials that were shown at the neighborhood theaters on Saturday afternoons. The serial chapter ran about 12-15 and wrapped up the matinee program of a double feature (western and comedy) cartoon or shorts like the Three Stooges and a newsreel. The serials were never shown in the mornings, except at special showings prior to the main feature.
OldMusic, I think the "Frog in your arm" they are referring to is when you hit the largest muscle in your (or you buddy's ) forearm with one knuckle it makes a knot come up for a minute or so. That is what we use to call that. "Giving you a frog"!
thanks, that is two down. still looking for the Frog in your arm. i remember the knock knock jokes. here is one. Knock knock. whoes there? cantalope. cantalope who? Cantalope without a man.
@oldermusiclover Pegging your pants means rolling up the legs - generally it was just blue jeans that were pegged. Moon hub caps were either baby moons or full moons. I don't know how to describe them but here's a link to some pics - google[DOT]com/search?q=moon+hub+caps&hl=en&rlz=1T4GGHP_enUS439US439&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=gRojT9OzItCRgQflw5ToCA&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CE0Q_AUoAQ&biw=1393&bih=683
@oldermusiclover In the summer the standard dress was a white T-shirt. With a pocketless shirt, only way to carry your smokes was to roll a pack of cigarettes in the sleeve. They'd get crushed if you put them in your Levi's pocket. So it would look somewhat like you had a frog in your arm.
The Statlers were in a class all their own. No one will ever come close to their talent in singing and writing. I am so thankful there is YT, because I miss their music. We were very lucky and saw them so many times I can't count. We enjoyed every show and could take our kids along and know they would put on a clean and very funny show. Thanks for the post.

If this originally aired in 1982, then this must have been one of Lew's last concerts with the guys. RIP, Lew.
