  • How many hp?

  • @joostcobra - It was a restrictor (WKA Gold, single hole) plate motor so it didn't produce a lot of HP, think it dyno was somewhere around 9.5 HP. This same motor is now a Limited Mod, we're hoping to take it to Stout Racing Engines (Cleveland, Tennessee) and try it on their new computer dyno before the racing season starts...

  • it is the adult size kart

  • @angelwingsracing - Yes, this is a 2003 Ultramax Blaze Octane, though its was a great kart, we sold it when we won a new 2010 Ultramax Badmax at the 2010 Ashway Speedway Points Banquet. Ultramax makes a nice kart chassis, also the new 2012 Shatter from Fast Action Karting is really nice if your looking for an adult sized kart..

  • nice kart i have one very similar to this, but its slightly older ahaha

  • @GuitarGodSD - Cool, this one is a 2003 Ultramax Blaze Octane, great kart for night racing...

  • how i would just love to drive one,not even race, but im dead broke.

  • @BennettLogan23 - I hear ya on being broke, had to sell a kidney to get this kart, motor and tires...

  • It Sounds like its running on gas not methonal

  • @XxALLxCODxFOREVERxX - Its running on methanol, we've never raced any gas motors... Might be the 3 hole restrictor plate making it sound funny, sounded better without the plate, sounds even better now that its a Limited Mod motor...

  • hey looks good but it dont sound good when it runs check the carb

looks nice and u do know its goin to take that long to start in the beginning of every race so just be prepared any questions just message me

  • @coryhess1996 - We send that carb back at the end of last season, the brass fitting for the air bleed (above the float) had fell out, got it fix and had it flowed for a 3 hole IKF plate and it runs great all this season. We're going to convert it into a Limited Mod for next season. Take care

  • @cabracing u have 28 mikuni. i had o 33 on my jr dragster and had the same problem with the carb

  • @jrdragster3323 - Its a walbro carburetor, it took a few minutes to pump the fuel from the tank up the lines and fill the bowl before it would start. Glad we figured that out...lol!

  • @cabracing o icic. my neighbor runs go karts and has a mikuni carb. he is very smart with carb stuff. just they dont have the money for good enough set ups. but hes getting there. do u do any good?

  • @jrdragster3323 - we've been mid-pack most of this season in the Stock Lite class, have a few wins here and there. We're going to the Limited Mod class next year, can't wait...

  • @cabracing sounds good i went to clone this season so i run gas engines now

  • @coryhess1996 - Thanks, this motor sounds even better since we turned it into a Limited Mod (Mod 1 cam, ported head, tilly carb). We have seen quit a few drivers around here moving over to the Clone, they are some of the bigger classes at our local track, we're going to stick it out with Briggs so long as we have others to race in our class (Limited, Limited Sr Champ, Sr Champ Flathead, and Stock Lite). Good luck this season, we just subscribed to your YouTube channel to see some of your races !

  • sorry if this is a stupid question but wat is length and width of the bottom mounting plate on the motor or the base of the motor what ever you want to call it

  • @RobertDN181995 - Not sure what the footprint is of this Briggs Animal is but I know its the same as the Briggs Flathead...

  • 2Q? what yr chassis and last i see u have a loop bumber so what plate class are u running.

  • @galipoka2 - Its an 03' and were running it in Gold Plate...

  • hey guys im real close to hickory and u said tht where u got the chassis......wat was the store and how much was it

  • man thts a nice go karts....and u got the same number as me 44......i run stock lite in flatheads

  • Where is a good place to get a chassis for cheap for a kart like this?

  • Google for the website called "4cycle", once your on that site hit the Forum, then look for Karts in the Free Classifieds and Photo sections. We purchsed this chassis from someone on 4cycle for about half the price of what they were selling locally, so I didn't mind traveling 5 hours (round trip) to go and pick it up...

  • @229drummer - We had rebuilt this motor and running it in Stock Lite (with a 3 hole Gold Plate so that we can mix with the flatheads). The chassis was bought from a guy name Cliff at his home, wasn't a kart shop. 44 best number on the track :-)

  • nice how mutch it weight

  • The total weight of the kart (with driver) is 325 lbs, I think the motor is around 20 or 25 lbs...

  • and if your braking in a motor it should be done extramly hard to get the valves and rings to seat properly.

you should use the brake and the gas to add ressistance (hold the brake hard and mash the gas then let it spin free stop it then do it again.

  • Great advice, but this motor was already broke in when we got it (run on the dyno 3 times). We were just running it a few times to wash out all the break in oil...

  • hey, how much Hp does that monster have?!?!

  • It did a little over 8HP on the dyno with the single hole (Gold) restrictor plate installed...

  • how much does it cost to switch an animal to alcohol because where i live you have to switch it to race

  • Not too sure because the carb was already setup for Methanol when we got the motor. Contact our motor builder and he would be glad to price out a alcohol kit for your carb, hit Google and search, "stoutracingengines" and his website will at the top of the results.

  • It run about 60MPH on a 1/4 mile track, not bad for a brand new Gen 5 motor with only 6 races, it's just now getting broke in and running faster each week...

  • how fast

  • Keep your hands off the tyres guys.

You have an engine there that has more than ample power to criple you

Be aware of the chain as well. In my youth I saw more than one chain failure * mind you that was on the track *

Enjoy, I did at your age :)

  • Thanks for the info, we just lightly hold the tires to apply a little resistance to the motor and to view on the tach what RPM the clutch is kicking in...

  • if set up right the motor souldn't idle on its own. going into a corner you want as much engine braking as possible.

  • That idea works well on the Flatheads, but the Animals idle pretty good. We had BEAR flow this Animal carb during the off season for unrestricted, it now sounds better at an idle than in this video...

  • crank on it with the start to pump the fuel up don't do it in bursts

  • Thanks for the advice.

  • does the animal run on alachol?

  • The stock Animals (Like the LO206) run on gas, the Animal in this video has been built (blue printed) to run on Methanol which is a type of Alcohol...

  • bring it to nc so we can have sum fun XD

  • head up im ready for that bad boy lol

  • lol, we might have to cross the mountain this summer to run with you guys. We go to see a bunch of Western Carolina Ulimited All Stars last weekend at Dumblin Valley, they put on a great show!!!

  • you know, the wrap is supposed to smoke

  • Now that the motor has been raced a few times, the wrap doesn't smoke at all, we kinda miss that new wrap smell now...lol

  • Awesome guys. Now go burn out :P

  • If the rain holds off next weekend, we'll hit the track with it...
