  • I want the one you are showing. Where can I get it?

  • try out the aquila strings, more volume and depth of sound!

  • I love the KoAloha sound, but the price is steep. I want a bigger, crisper sound, so I'm aiming for a tenor, and I found that a concert or even soprano KoAloha actually sound "bigger" than tenors of other brands. Hoping to find one used.

  • Thanks for this...my next uke is definately going to be a KoAlha but not sure between this tenor and the sceptre? Does this have a greater tonal range than the sceptre...also heard the sceptre distorts...any ideas?

  • @freackykit well, sceptre is a great instrument. It's essentially a double cut-away. So the higher frets, 15-21 will be a little easier to hit. As for tonal range, it really depends on the number of frets you have and your skills as a player. As for sceptre distortion, I'm afraid I haven't heard anything about it. But, i will definitely hit my friend "HaoleJohn" up to review his sceptre.

  • @SpecialUkulele Hiya and thanks for getting back to me...Essentially I think that both the traditional tenor and the sceptre are brilliant instruments, and the choice on which one to have is far from clear. Think I read HaoleJohn's review on UU. Dunno where I picked up the distortion issue but find it hard to believe that any instrument of that quality would have a serious problem.

  • I think the fretboard is ebony. It's the neck that's mahogany. To answer your question about buying one, I don't know. I love the Koaloha sound, even if local uke players just hate everything about the brand. But the nut width is larger and my fingers are small. I don't know if I could play it.

  • @cyberg00se hmmm, fretboard is ebony... but it's been a while since I had it, so I forgot. Bashing on the KoAloha brand name? How come?

  • Nice job Mike. Loving that Flip camera?
