  • Why all the dead space at the end?

  • With British Airways Management what do you expect?? I left BA because of the "sloppy" Management!

  • Willie Walsh you should resign in shame. If this doesn't bring BA down then it will surely damage their reputation so much that the Government will likely have to bail them out somewhere along the lines...since the reputation of the architect, London and the UK as a whole has been damaged.

  • During a phase when morale is already at an all-time low at BA across the workforce not many of the workers bothered with the extra training (can't say I blame them, why would you want to spend your days off training and not being paid by your company?).

Result: Meltdown, chaos and catastrophe. What a shocker. Really, no-one can really be surprised that this happened at Heathrow and to BA. Is there any worse combination in avaition?

  • They underwent 6 months of "rigorous" tests, (tests so rigorous and extensive that in only 1 day they found problems that weren't found in 6 months). During this "training and testing" phase most of the employees were given basic training only and then given the option of further training voluntary in their days off.

  • People have been fed up with Heathrow for the last 10 years. BA promised everyone that T5 would solve all "the issues" thus elevating people's expectations of the new T5 terminal for years in advance of it's opening date. Against advice they elected to change over half of their scheduled flights in a single day rather than go for a phased in solution.

  • Millenium dome, Wembley stadium, NHS, Railways, Highways, Local councils, Immigration, etc. etc. So is Terminal 5 any surprise. NO. We are infested with bureaucratic money wasting desk dwellers with no accountability. IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE.

  • ROFL - More a waste of an air terminal. Cool to see all the misinformation + videos doing the rounds, putting the blame on the baggage system / "worker error". The reality as far as my friends who work at BAA are concerned it was actually baggage unable to get onto the baggage movers at the Core Building A baggage "pickup points", to go the none core "satellite" stands (called buildings B to D). These bags still have or had rofl to go via the apron roads, which basically failed capacity testing.
