To know if your decent is good, you are supposed to look at the lights on the side of the runway. Apparently if two of the lights are white, and two are red, your decent is great, but if you only see red lights, you are to low, and if you only see white, you are to high. But, after you get over the runway, you don't need to pay attention to those, because then it doesn't do u any good after u are over the runway
you don´t land an Antonov like this because of the position of its wings.the final approach should be done nose down(slightly) and just before touchdown raise the nose(again very slightly) so that the rear wheels touchdown first
too much flaps. try to use at least 2/3 of runway for smooth landings. i think 2-3 clicks for flaps and 180-200 knots for approach speed is good starting point...
you came in a bit to fast, also i dont know if you can read the glide slope indicator but it is, if u have all red lights den u r 2 low and if u have all white ur 2 high and if you have 2 of each your on the right glideslope
Nope! I did it better the first time with this one, also at Edwards, like that damn take-off! I mean, I came in smoother, but...
But! Because I'm usually ultra cautious, I decided to touch down on the gravel-part of the runway, to have enough time to stop.
Turned out it wasn't necessary, 'cause the speedbrakes do their jobs. But I thought the designer hadn't paid attention with that, and that it would take longer to stop. I'm only sorry I didn't record that :))
