Well in terms of the skills the character being used is more likely to succeed if, say, a new player was having troubles with a backstabbing scout. He could select an archer and easily defeat the scout better than he could using a fighter. What I said before was helping some of the newer players, not for everybody.
generally, in crowd control a mage is the best. same for the warrior, that is more adept at the beginning of a fight, while the mage is best at the end (or for support). the archer is best at medium distance from the fights, it kicks ass but of course you must be careful of closing enemies. the scout I don't like that much but of course it's just me, I recognize it can be very dangerous against singular (and very powerful) characters but I just like to charge in the crowd :D
when your at full use l2 and o on ps3 and you will use the crowd breaker, comes in handy when mages try to use the shockwave, knocks them off their feet

First, you have to be a melee class to hop on the back of a troll or ent and you have to press the button before the dagger turns red, and you can't throw them off you, it's them not pressing the button in time

Yeah, if you're playing against shit archers. If they're smart, they'll hit you with poison as soon as you drop your shield, then while you're shielded, your heal won't regen so they've got you half health, then one fire arrow will take you out, and as long as they're not stupid they just stand back and wait for a warrior or a scout. But I won't lie...... Mage is the best class in the game. A good mage really can take a team of archers, just not as easily as you said.
question about grabbing trolls/ents, do you wait for the dagger icon to go all red then hit it or hit it as soon as you see it ? i got thrown off a troll >_> maybe i hit it too early.

rofl 'very balanced' ? warriors suck, archers have pinpoint accuracy, infinite range and WAY to fast reloading powers, critical hits in the head and can shoot while running back, its as if theirs a rule that archers need to be OP in any game. Hero's seem fine, they only get one and they're usually backstabbed or sniped. Mages also cheap, too strong of healing for so much easy firepower, hardly need to aim.
Gotta learn how to use the warrior than. Imma beast on my warrior gotta 12 kill streak on him before 2 mages shockwaved me to death lol. Trick is throw axe lb+x for that charge ahead than press b with the left bumper instant kill against almost anyone. Archers are horrible in my opinion their just so easy to die with. Mage is overpowered though hell, I lived all round with one just using that fire wall and running in circles using lightning. Scouts are easy to see just look for a blur. lol
i got a 17 kill streak on my archer jus sitting back shooting people in the head for an insta kill, the only challenge was the other archers who'd catch onto me and we'd shoot it out at 200 yards. Your tactic requires more then default flame sword, and that you and your opponent are alone, which is rarely the case in a crowded game, usually warriors are first to get pegged by arrow/lightning fire, especially since it can take them so long to kill a squirmy target that jumps and rolls.
If an archer lands poison arrow on your warrior its practically over, next will be the flame arrow, if your lucky it wont get your head, then its multi shot, then a few standard arrows and he'll have poison arrow back before your cured. I think warrior needs 2 things atm, HP regen based off flame/adrenaline charge, and the ability to flame charge the throwing axe, making it an explosive projectile, better for knocking people down and moving in for the kill.
Don't forget that warriors may die rather easily under heavy projectile fire, but that's why they need the mages for.
Sure an archer can just sit back and snipe or just even keep dodging and firing like hell - but once cornered, ambushed, or teamed up on - an archer is easy prey.
It's balanced in the sense of how they fought in medieval times. Archers were "invincible" then... until the enemy got close enough.
actually archers were OP then too. Yes team work is important for warriors but i think mages and arches in team is best. Archers can multi shot when cornered, and do it alot, while running. One skilled archer can take on 3-4 other archers and live, a scout/mage/warrior has almost no chance of that period, and i know cuz i did it, its FPS w/ archer, 1 good archer can stall half a team!
If a player is good at using either a scout or archer they are overpowered classes. Chickens andsniper wannabes. Need more than 2 classes though..................................
And guess what. Gandalf is WAY better than the Balrog or the Witch King. Unfair hero classes...

i play around i like archers it just so cool to shoot trolls in head, or save a outnumbered teammate with a well placed fire arrow. but i use scout a lot to.
Considering you use Scouts most of the time: Do NOT run into a battle where there is more then 2 enemies. Also always wait for the right time to back-stab an enemy. Make sure that they are being distracted by one of your Team-Mates, then flank the enemy from behind.
Archer help: Do not rely on Archers melee kick, they're called Archers for a reason.
Another useful tip would be to always keep your fire arrow active. So you may blow the enemy down and then poison them.
good advise but i always do most of this anyway. may i say killing as a scout is easier(in my opinion) when there not fighting someone else because they move less an stop attacking.
It always seems to happen that when I'm a Scout, and I'm fighting someone alone, I tend to get my Ass kicked. Well that is IF they see me first. If not then...a Knife in the back for you.

When you get a kill as a Mage it just feels like a kill.
But as a Warrior killing an enemy feels like an achievement. Also Warriors actually take some work to be good at, whereas Mages and Archers are generally easy Classes to play.
Scouts are unfortunately frustrating to play, although just as fun as a Warrior.
the archer need nerf... with out doubt... they walk just as fast backwards as everyother class... but not the warrior.. warrior is a bit faster... the archer has poisen arrow that take away half of your health and you move crap slow...but how do ou know they are nerfed in the real game? if it is i am happy.. and the mage.... bah... that would be a good idea. unfortunately there is no block against getting stabbed in the back by damn scouts. i had finally got be a hero and i didn't last a minute cuz a scout stabbed in the back.
are you a dumbass? the only thing scouts do is use camo and come up behind with a 1 hit kill. Archer on the other hand have to aim their shots and to defeat their opponent not come up behind them like a little puss
i agree in the archer part!, im a really good archer... but scouts its not just hidding, i use scouts 2 some times, and if i have a chance i do the hit from behind thing, but normaly y dont have that chance so i kill them by normals attks and it works for me
Thats why everyone basically agrees with me. Plus if a rogue gets hit accidentally or not the invisibilty goes away. The invisibility is on a timer and the rogue cant block. As well the satchell charge can go so far. All other classes have an range attack. Scout lacks "range"
The only way to become Hero is having the most points on your side by the time your score reaches 500 Points the top player will be chosen hero. If they are on the bottom of the list and are hero someone probably passed them while they are still using Hero status.

capture the flag - just roll the whole way
fighting - constantly be rolling around and dont let them touch you or just roll away until you have enough energy to hide

Yeah, if you're playing against shit archers. some minor problems i have with game demo
mage:need bigger healing range.
scouts:u lose clock if u fail to back stab erm.
warriors:shouldn't knock u over with pretty much every swing of a blade because it just takes away any chance of fighting back.
archers:there kick stops half way though if u get hurt meaning u lose the point of it fighting close guys away.
before u say i just suck i come top of score board a lot an i often get to be a hero.hopefully these things get fixed at some point.

Archers fire slower, and move slower when they walk backwards.
Mages can only lightning bolt a few times before waiting for a bar to recharge (mana.) The heal also takes mana.

the archer need nerf... with out doubt... they walk just as fast backwards as everyother class... but not the warrior.. warrior is a bit faster... the archer has poisen arrow that take away half of your health and you move crap slow...but how do ou know they are nerfed in the real game? if it is i am happy.. and the mage.... bah... OP delux.. all they need to do is heal.. and bang they got 80-90% health back.... but damn... i hope they are nerfed.. and the witch king made stronger. the balrog to

mage is a sick character. u can do so much: heal and defend ur teammates. not to mention the lightning and the fire. cant wait to dominate with the mage online

i suck with the archer, i can get only 3 or 4 kills. i get 13-15 with the mage.

im kind of a awesome archer =D i never get first plays cuz i always stay away shooting while every body capture territories and getting alots of points.... my best game so far was 19 kills 1 death

i was so pissed last night though. i was getting dominated as a mage online by archers. lightning isn't of much use when ur getting sniped by arrows.

Use your block it puts up a shield that arrows or lightening cant penetrate.

that would be a good idea. unfortunately there is no block against getting stabbed in the back by damn scouts. i had finally got be a hero and i didn't last a minute cuz a scout stabbed in the back.

are you a dumbass? the only thing scouts do is use camo and come up behind with a 1 hit kill. Archer on the other hand have to aim their shots and to defeat their opponent not come up behind them like a little puss

i agree in the archer part!, im a really good archer... but scouts its not just hidding, i use scouts 2 some times, and if i have a chance i do the hit from behind thing, but normaly y dont have that chance so i kill them by normals attks and it works for me

Thats why everyone basically agrees with me. Plus if a rogue gets hit accidentally or not the invisibilty goes away. The invisibility is on a timer and the rogue cant block. As well the satchell charge can go so far. All other classes have an range attack. Scout lacks "range"

The only way to become Hero is having the most points on your side by the time your score reaches 500 Points the top player will be chosen hero. If they are on the bottom of the list and are hero someone probably passed them while they are still using Hero status.
