  • Nice. Goldfish are meant to be eaten by predators.

  • Thank you for posting this, It was very sad but it somewhat help me write another sentence for my english paper.

  • wonder wat my sis would do if she saw this? lets go find out -:)

  • ITS MINE lol

  • I actually found one these in the parking lot today at work. Leaning against some snow plows when I saw something moving in my peripheral vision. I look over expecting to see a mouse. Never saw one of these things this big. When I tried to box him up he kept gnashing his pincers at me. Took a few pictures and then released him in a swamp. Easily the coolest insect I've seen in nature

  • that`s so sick!!

I don`t know where the video maker comes from, but I don`t accept it.

To show something like that is cruel and not nature. I have to fish tanks and the sense behind is, to keep the animals alive, as long as possible and not to make a Zombie movie.

    Sick, simply sick.

  • @wolljuergen "Not nature?" Are you really that ignorant? This is EXACTLY what happens in nature. Giant waterbugs eat almost nothing but small, live fish, tadpoles and other invertebrates. The fish was not fed to it for fun, it was fed to it because it WILL NOT EAT ANYTHING ELSE, so yes, this is a pet being kept alive. Cats and dogs are predators too, and the food we give them out of a bag contains brutally slaughtered animals. Do you think an insect doesn't deserve to be cared for or something?

  • @wolljuergen hurr fucking durr

  • @wolljuergen This is nature you fuckin' retard.

  • The video is not cruel, nature is.

  • if people have a problem then why are you on these types of videos like really i jus tried to see if a water bug eats meat turns out it does but i have no problem with that because thats what they do eathier way it going to eat a fish and theres like trillions of goldfish in thw world so i dont know why people are really mad abou this. #im just saying

  • cruel.... but cool

  • aww the bug is hugging the fish!!!...........O_o

  • Do they eat the whole thing or just suck out the juices like a spider does?

  • @tah1795 Basically that. They have a digestive juice they inject into the prey to soften the insides for easier digestion.

  • nice video, where does your friend live? I had 2 of these in an eco-jar with some plants and mosquito fish (Gambusia sp. males). One day I noticed the 2 were on top of each-other, twitching back and forth mechanically. My first thought was that they were cannibalizing, but then I read that it is part of their mating. I never saw whether or not it was a success, and I see no babies in the jar, sadly. I posted a small clip of it on here called "Giant Water Bug: Feeding & Breeding Clips". *Thumbs^

  • the kiss of death

  • Water bugs are very tenaceous. I have seing them devouring pirahnas.

  • Wow, very voracious! I would like to know what this bug would do to the hand of a man. You know, to tie the hand of an enemy and sink it into the water with that bug.

  • This is nature at it´s best!

only a child wound understand all the implications of this act.

for instance don´t you eat animals that were alive?? what´s the diferrance betwen dead food and living food? they both end up dead dont they? and if you think dead food (before gets dead) live in discusting conditions that would even make a roach sick! At least the gold fish lived healty and a happy live before it was eaten!!!!!!

tumbs up if you agree!!!!! =DDDD

  • awww man... i was hoping i can see it suck out some liquified remains :(

  • Sweet, never seen them eat fish before, how long have you had it?

  • dick. next time feed your disgusting waterbug something else. If i ever see you your gonna get fuked up for that watch me trace your ip address dumb youtube user.

  • @lilrdog aren't we a cute little youtube badass. Fish are these insects' NATURAL diet; a goldfish is no more special or important than an insect. You're just as bad as those idiots who leave nasty threatening comments on snake feeding videos. You don't scare me. You must be a child if you can't comprehend or handle nature.

  • @PenanggalanMonster lol i feed my turtle goldfish

  • @PenanggalanMonster

    do these things attack humans

  • @LCPD9111 They can, and I hear it's very painful. But with careful handling, it's not too hard to avoid.

  • @PenanggalanMonster You claim this is natural. This is an artificial environment created by you. There is nothing natural here. A fish in the wild would atleast have the chance to escape rather than being trapped in an enclosed space with a predator.

  • @Spacepope3k Do you have any pets that you feed ANY kind of animal protein? Are you not vegan? Then shut the fuck up with your double-standards. The fish was SOLD as a feeder at a PET STORE. This is natural because this is HOW THE INSECT HAS TO LIVE. Either way, something dies. All you idiots are only getting butthurt because you think the fish is prettier than the bug, you shallow fucks. Now get the fuck off my page with your idiotic attempts at logic.

  • @PenanggalanMonster Telling people the deal, like a sir. Bugs are cooler than fish anyway (except sharks).

  • @Spacepope3k There's nothing else a waterbug will eat. If something is already dead, it doesn't attract them. Incidentally, fish also eat living prey and even FISH FOOD contains the ground-up meat of mass-slaughtered animals, what the fuck is the difference? If this was a fish eating an insect would you feel the same way?

  • A giant waterbug is a predator that ONLY eats living things. In the wild it waits until a fish swims by and eats it, that's all it does. You're seriously threatening someone for feeding their pet the only thing it'll eat? And what the fuck makes a bug less important than a fish anyway? I'm willing to bet YOU eat meat all the fucking time, if it makes you angry for an insect to survive eating live fish why don't you go vegan, asshat?

Insects aren't disgusting, they're fascinating, cool animals.

  • @lilrdog

awww the 13 year old is angry LOL

  • @lilrdog So I'm guessing you don't like that snakes eat rats? or that sometimes cats kill the rodents in your yard. This is the insects natural prey dude.

  • @lilrdog this is life.... it is just like eating a chicken...

  • that is s sck awsome

  • lol i remember i went to the san diego zoo and in the insect house they had these types of water bugs and tadpoles in the same tank so 1 ended up eating a tadpole

  • why did u do that

  • Predation? Oh, come on, this is like a big, ol' hug. They are best of friends.

  • @Pomanders lol

  • Those things are wicked but they scare the crap out of me. I saw one flying at a street light and I thought it was a bat or a hummingbird. Except it sounded like a helicopter gunship on 'roids.

  • damn.. fuk dat is nasty..

  • is that natural?

  • aren't goldfish expensive? just wondering

  • No, usually 15 cents for one.

  • I miss my gwb. :( I really want another one. Seriously the neatest pet I've ever had.

  • the other fish there staying the hell away LOL

  • omg that thing is just terrifying, wow, I want one. If it ever got loose I would flip out! lol

  • oh wow, these are so impressive. I'd love to see a video of them catching a fish, I can't even comprehend how they do it! That grasp is like something straight out of a horror movie.

  • i love your insects we have some similar to those just smaller i seen one eat a frog once pretty awesome!

  • they paralyze their prey and then injects its saliva into the victim and when the insides have deteriorated it sukks out the insides....pretty gruesome...i heard that all that's left is the skin...i hope to see it....when my stomachs a little stronger :P

  • nom nom nom

  • How exactly do they kill the fish, anyway? Neat video, and very scary bug <3

Also, kinda funny story. I was watching you on deviantart for a while, then found insectgeeks and saw you there and was like aaaaaah! It was just really neat finding you randomly on two very different sites, plus I thought it was neat how your art was so good and you liked/had really cool bugs.

  • they stick the stem inside of the fish and inject some kind of chemical tht turns their insides into soup....after that they just drink the insides like a smoothie [=

  • @Zombiezreplaceteens that sounds tasty :)

  • lolz XD

  • Where did you buy them? Do you sell some of your pets as well?

  • They were mailed to me as a gift from a friend. I'm hoping for more soon, as where he lives, they are all over the place and easy to catch :)

  • How many do you have? In one video I thought I saw two.

  • I did have 3 adults for about a year, but then two of them died, and now I just have this one.

  • Sorry to hear about them dying. Man, that is one hungry insect. Anyone who thinks that insects aren't interesting is really missing out on a lot.

  • Dang! So how big is that water bug? Without a lot of reference, my guess is 2".

  • About 2 1/2 - 3". Those were pretty big goldfish.

  • Impressive!
