  • I generally like FC, and am legitimately disappointed with this. His "I'm not trying to prophetic" seems a bit insincere. He can't be ignorant as to how most people will take his statements. This is pastoral fear-mongering. It is subtle, and generally muted fear mongering, but it is still fear mongering.

  • sorry, @flizzleFlopper =)

  • i like what fissleflopper last said: we should be fighting for a society where it is easiest to spread the Gospel. Not staying "neutral" and making it harder for anyone to hear the Gospel and choose to accept or reject it; but neither should we vote for laws that *force* worship or obedience to God without the heart being submitted to Him.

  • I just wanna say to fizzleflopper and natemhanson, that you are both missing a vital point here. When Jesus was with us on earth, everything he did was in service of others. He never asked anything for himself, or expected anyone to provide for him. He did not teach us that we should fight, only that we should defend the rights of OTHERS...not ourselves. Again, this is a form of service towards other people, when you legally defend that persons rights.

  • consider "Love always protects"

  • If you don't know the Leader, then you can't lead others to Him. Meet Jesus for yourself. Receive His Spirit. Be filled. Listen. Obey. Pray. Be single-minded.

  • The reason I bring this up is, I have seen someone use this exact message as an "excuse" to vote for candidates that least stood for Christians, and stood the most for things we are commanded not to do. If we are to put leaders in to places that they have power over us, I think it is wrong to put those who are against God into those places. Also, by not voting, we are doing the same thing.

  • Also, Christ while on this Earth did challenge those in leadership roles, both in the Christian scope, and also a political scope. Are we not ordered to pay taxes? While on this Earth we are to do Christ work in ALL that we do.Christ crucifixion, He remained quiet, and did nothing because He knew that, that is what had to happen in order for us to be saved. Christ did lay EVERYTHING down for us, shouldn't we do the same?

  • In the Bible when Christ punished a nation, it was as a nation. It is our responsibility to curve our laws towards those of the Bible. By not voting, it is the same as voting for things that are not Biblical. What would happen if we were to get leaders of this country that stood against Israel? Yes our focus should be that of Christ, and winning people over for them. We would still witness to others if it became illegal, but why allow that to happen, when we have the power not to?

  • IsrvChrist,

Don't be consumed or involved in the popular war over Christian rights - that's the message here. I'd challenge you to find that in the bible; that we as Christians are supposed to fight for our rights. Remember, we're following Christ who laid down every right he could have had to come to die for us. That's our example.

  • @natemhanson hmmm...In general the whole "fighting for rights" thing is really beside the point. We as Christians should fight for what is right...and that should be motivated out of love for God and our fellow man. One of the most loving things we can do is to help create a society in which it is easy for a person to accept Christ. When we allow anti-Christian factions to control our schools (for example), we're just surrendering souls to Satan. And there's nothing "biblical" about that.

  • Is this to say Christians should vote?

I think under the right focus Christian should still fight for the Christian rights. We do have some say in which our Gov. runs. I do believe we WILL be held accountable for the way or whether or not we voted. We do not want out Country going in the way of Sodom & Gomorrah. I do agree that our main view needs to be on Christ, and allow Him to lead our votes, but I don't think it is right for Christian's to just sit back and watch the world be destoried

  • Amen to Francis! This is good stuff, and he asks many good questions...

  • @tmdudgeon Amen's should go to God, not a person. God leads, people speak,

  • @IsrvChrist Please learn what amen means. I'm not meaning this mean or spiteful, please don't take it that way.

  • Amen to Francis!

  • He is ignorant of history, is bound to repeat it. :-/
