  • James Burton, Yes! One of the Kings guitarists.

  • Awesome

    Grandma Mary

  • It's so weird seeing Earl klugh there.

  • also, albert lee is awesome

  • see sheryl at the beginning... ooh a gig, i'll just come on and steal some attention :) i joke

  • Steven Spielburg on Keyboards in the panama hat and red and white shirt!!

  • James Burton et Albert Lee SUPER....

  • One of these years I'm going to have to fork over the cash and go to ClaptonFest. this stuff is amazing. James Burton, Keb' Mo', Albert Lee, Earl Klugh, and Vince all on stage together. excellent idea that's become an institution.

  • Listen up all you GUITAR players...the gray haired guy with the white T-Shirt....aka Albert Lee....is the finest guitar player on the planet bar none..RP

  • Crossroads Guitar Festival is always a great event for a number.

  • Show what music ....

  • vince gill does a good job on this one.i didnt know his voice could do it!!

  • Guy with the flame guitar is James Burton

  • @Fodested I believe that was Albert Lee

  • Forca Vince !!!

  • Good sound! This show was a spectacle ..... Congratulations and greetings from Brazil.

  • Boy James Burton really looks old.

  • Have a great time.

  • Stomp it

  • That fretboard's stained with oil from Vince's fingers...what beautiful music thay make ;)

  • 0:12 "OMG, GOD REALLY DOES EXIST"

  • 1:52 one of the best solos i've heard. small but with big balls!

  • @planetsolega check short solo /watch?v=gMxHxuiTAGA at 2:00

  • Look at the singers fretboard....It`s Fucking-ugly :p

  • @gitarbest That's what happens when you play the hell out of an old guitar for years and years. It's gorgeous.

  • @86beater yeah ; - D

  • Thanx to the great drummer who really kicks ass on this tune and make it swing like h........Thumbs Up!!

  • Eric did a great job on this but its just not reasonable to compare his vocals to Vince Gill Vincemis recognized as one of the greatest voices of the time. Not to mention that Vince , Albert and James are thre of the hottest country players anywhere. James Burton is one of the all time great rhytm players of all time.At least 6 guitars.

  • At 2:27-2:35... do they purposely drown out the sound of that guys guitar or did he just not "play loud enough" ?

  • @FlipsTheTrips No the other guys weren't trying to drown him because, unlike all the other guys solid body electrics, that's a nylon string acoustic that it's hard to amplify a lot without feedback. Also their volume from the audience has more to do with the guy behind the mixing board than the others on stage.

  • Is that David Ryan Harris on acoustic guitar?

  • @2handsforchrist Earl Klugh i believe

  • Should i venture to say that IMO this is better than EC's version?

  • is that james burton?

  • @Guitar1hero23 Indeed it is

  • wow everybody is here!!!!

  • did anyone count how many guitarists r on stage?

  • Wheres Eric ??

  • Loistava meininki, sanoo Jallu:)

  • Yeah Vince Gill and Sheryl Crow!

  • I love the black guy with the classical guitar! hes just kinda there, but its still cool. LOVE THIS SONG

  • keb mo was way to quiet, anyone else think so

  • ahhh! Sheryl Crow...

  • thanks,... yummy!!!!

  • 0:07 Steve Gadd looking a girl's ass

  • Where is Clapton???? This song is from Cream...

  • @alessandraconsiglio Hate to break it to ya but Lay down sally is solo Calpton off the Slowhand album, Cream wasn't quite that country. Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were no where near that recording. Marcy Levy and George Terry were the co-writers, Levy does the female background vocals on the original recording. And Claptons solo on the original is ridiculously classy.

  • 1:53 is just boobs??

  • @jelledegitaarman i would fuck that for sure

  • listen to that pickin' Jimmy Burton is doing!!

  • Keb' Mo'!!

  • Hey, turn up Earl Klugh. Oh wait....

  • Comment removed

  • Didn't Sheryl Crow say everyone should use only 1 square of toilet paper when wiping? Think I'll pass on laying down with her.....

  • @ECwashr

    Charming...

  • i love it

  • i would love to lay down with Sheryl Crow !

  • stop the bickering and enjoy the tunes....geeze ppl

  • Sheryl is so awesome... what a voice, and I'm not speaking of the rest afraid of being treated as a sexist (whilst just enjoying...)

  • Who's in the guitar?

  • nice job!! xo

  • they really shoulda brought clapton out to play with them on this one. it is his song and hes there.

  • @jumpmanJB23 That's not the way Crossroads works.

  • @ErikMogan wat r u talking about? clapton did after midnight with jj cale cause it was originally jj cales song but i guess i shouldnt argue with someone whos in charge of crossroads, no wait thats not u thats clapton.

  • @jumpmanJB23 So I guess you're gonna go around and bitch about how Clapton didn't do every song he sang while at Crossroads? You get that it's just a bunch of his friends getting together to playing whatever music they want, don't you? and that it's not just the Eric Clapton Show starring Eric Clapton on every song?

  • @ErikMogan wow im not bitching. i was just saying i would like to see eric do it with them and u got a hissy fit. chill.

  • @jumpmanJB23 not only is he there its his show

  • @lildougalld good observation, jk yes i know.

  • @jumpmanJB23 .... they didn't need him.... even god has to take a back seat to this trio!

  • @jumpmanJB23 .... they didn't need him.... even god has to take a back seat to this trio! (Gill, Lee and Burton)!!!

  • @jumpmanJB23 So he could be upstaged in his own song? They had a lineup of much better pickers than him. if you get to see the full version where they each take a full chorus, they all play great country shit that Clapton simply doesn't have.

  • @fretbuzz59 whatever, theyre all great no doubt but none compare to Clapton

  • @jumpmanJB23 Clapton was a terrific blues player 40 yrs ago. Sadly he lacks the fire and lyricism he once had. But even at his best he didn't compare to Vince Gill, Albert Lee, and James Burton. I guarantee he'd admit that himself.

  • @fretbuzz59 hahahahahahahah. either your stupid, or dont even know who the hell Eric Clapton is, or your just kidding. either way you made me bust a gut. ask any one of them who the best guitarist is, ask any one at the whole crossroads who the best guitarist is and they will laugh at your face for not knowing then ask you who owns this festival?

  • @jumpmanJB23 Sorry sparky. Clapton may be the most famous, but he's FAR from the best guy there. Not even close. You simply don't understand the technical abilities those country pickers have (not to mention jazz players). Watch this: wwwDOTyoutubeDOTcom/watch?v=O8ljrPfsa50 to see some playing Clapton can only dream of. EC has called Albert Lee “the greatest guitarist in the world”. That's an overstatement, but you get the idea...

  • @fretbuzz59 no one gives a shit about technical abilities. do you know what fans care about? sound. Eric puts more feel into playing the guitar than anyone. that would be why he is so famous and known as one of the best of all time. why would eric dream to play like that when he can actually play way better. watch I shot the sheriff solo at the end. not my favorite solo of his but still better than they can do. tell me he has no fire in him after watching that.

  • @jumpmanJB23 I don't care about chops alone; play something interesting. But you're wrong that no one cares about technique b/c people love flashy shit. Hell, look at how u respond to Sheriff. He plays fast, noodley, boring pentatonic licks & you say "oh, he plays w/such feeling." He may be feeling it, but truth is, he plays that way b/c that's ALL he can do. He admires Albert Lee, Sonny Landreth, etc...guys w/chops who play great stuff. You're clueless. EC's vocabulary is rock gtr 101. Zzzz.

  • @fretbuzz59 ok your not getting it, your wrong about his "guitar vocabulary" but even if you are right people say "oh, he plays w/such feeling" which they dont say about albert lee ,sonny landreth, etc..... so no matter what you say they will never be considered as good as Clapton......EVER. so who gives a shit what you think huh? no one because your a nobody and Clapton is the exact opposite. He wipes his shit with dollar bills worth more than the "best pickers" who have" perfect technique"

  • @jumpmanJB23 Firstly it's "you're" not "your." YOU'RE not getting it & I can't explain diff musical vocabs in 500 charac. 40+ yrs ago EC got a lot from simple blues vocab. His Xroads solo is great--nice lines & phrasing. Hasn't played that way in yrs. U like him? OK. But quit talking shit u know nothing about. EC idolizes Landreth & Lee, partly for technique, but also cuz they play great shit! Your comment about $ is dumb. Money doesn't = artistry Who has more $ Yo Yo Ma or Britney S? Get it?

  • @fretbuzz59 oh sorry my vocab was wrong on youtube fag. his solo on CROSSroads not xroads was great but not near his best. and what shit dont i know about? i know what your saying but it doesnt make them better than him. EC likes those guys cuz theyre great guitarists but i asure you he knows hes better. Eric is the most successful guitarist ever and if you dont agree then YOU'RE just plain stupid. all there is to it

  • @jumpmanJB23 Fag..how mature. Amazing how offended ppl get about someone ELSE'S playing, which is usually proportional to their ignorance of the subject. EC's success is immaterial. If u knew about music, you'd see there's a whole world beyond what EC does. And if u knew about EC you'd know that he knows how much better those other guys are. He's called Lee the greatest gtrist in the world. About Landreth: "He's a giant to me his thing is so perfect." Like EC all u want, but wise up to reality

  • @fretbuzz59 i didnt get offended bc of that but bc you tried to change the subject and correct my spelling. man you're smart. And Clapton might have said that about Lee but do you know how many guitarist hes complimented? too many to count so that means nothing. hes just a humble and nice person. have you heard of jimi hendrix or bb king. they said clapton was the best. and no one else so they ment it. Lee and Gill are great, but its unfair to them to try to compare them to Clapton

  • @jumpmanJB23 The spelling thing was an aside, not a change in subject. An intelligent discussion should include a grasp of basic English. Your description applies more to EC's playing of yrs ago. I find his playing of today to be meandering & unfocused. Impossible to say anyone's best b/c there are many styles. If Clapton is your fave, fine. But anyone who considers him the pinnacle of gtr players is ignorant of a whole world of gtr playing. Ask EC, he'll tell you. BTW, my playing is irrelevant.

  • @fretbuzz59 uhm who mentioned your playing? I was saying the technique you keep talking about. and what is the pinnacle of guitar playin micheal angelo batio? he plays really fast, a variety of scales, fancy hand shit so is he the best? he will never be considered one of the best and Clapton is. and he was the description i said thats all that matters, doesnt matter how he plays now. I still think hes amazing but i do think his best era was with the dominos

  • @jumpmanJB23 You said "your technique", which sounds like you mean MY playing.

I hate ppl who play fast all the time, & said right off that I don't care about chops alone. I'll say again, you like Clapton, fine. But you should expand your horizons. Check out jazz players, & guys like Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, John Scofield. They started w/BB King, etc but took it much further, adding jazz vocab to blues. Listen to the richness of their playing, then see if you still think EC's all that.

  • @fretbuzz59 haha you dont know how many guitar players ive checked out so no matter who I watch I will always think Eric Clapton is all that. He is my guitar hero. its great that you like these guys I never insulted any one of them I just said I would love to see Eric play along with Gill, Lee, and them then you made it a competition. everyone has their own opinion.

  • @jumpmanJB23 You're right, I did start it, tho not as a competition. I was originally just being sorta snarky b/c, as I've established, I'm no EC fan. But further, people who consider him "the best" are severely missing the boat. It's good that you listen to lots of gtr players, but if you haven't checked out the guys I mentioned--esp Ford, who's the closest to trad blues--you should. If he doesn't open your ears to far richer & more interesting possibilities of playing blues, nothing will.

  • @fretbuzz59 well like I said everyone has a different opinion. its just sad you dont like EC when so many others like him. I dont even see how anyone cant when hes made so many hits in so many different genres of music and what hes done for the music industry for itself and all the guitarists hes inspired....did he like have sex with someone you liked or something? bc i highly doubt theres any reason to dislike the guy

  • @jumpmanJB23 I don't dislike EC personally, not even b/c he shagged Sheryl Crow. ;) I have his box set & saw him live in '88. But his playing has become boring & tedious to me. I fully get the idea of right note/right time; that's always been my bottom line. But EC's never epitomized that for me. Plus, I prefer playing that goes beyond standard blues/rock vocab. Blues is great, & like a hot dog can be very satisfying. But there are other dishes that are rich w/layers of flavors & textures.

  • @fretbuzz59haha shagged nice. alright well thats your opinion and I respect it. nice analogy too. peace

  • @fretbuzz59 well ok hendrix also said phill kheagy so he said two people but since the 60s and to this day its been between hendrix and clapton. you're not seeming to get this but people consider him the best because his solos are structural. they have a beggining middle end. with a climax. and his placement of his notes are perfect. his solos always match the song. and hes so smooth when he plays. thats natural ability unlike your technique that people dont realy care about.

  • @jumpmanJB23 at the same time clapton probably enoyed it. you have to admit this is a fucking awesome cover

  • @testedpuddle never said it wasnt people are missing my point. imagine if thos guys were up there, WITH Eric Clapton. its rare to see him play it live

  • VINCE GILL. Quietly laying down lick for a long time.....

  • vince is awesome!!!!

  • Albert Lee! :D

  • i don't know who this guy is, but Clapton he ain't.

  • @nikkormac He be the legendary VINCE GILL!!!

  • Amazing!!!
