anyone remembered that this song was sang at Tom and Jerry? that's the first time I heard "Santa Lucia". And now listen to this song by Andrea Bocelli, such beautiful voice but still those scene when they were rowing flashes on my head XD
Andrea Bocelli nous chante cette belle chanson que j'entendais deja ily a bien longtemps dans la voix de mon père . Ces belles chansons traversent les siecles surtout quand elles sont interpretees par un grand artiste comme Andrea Bocelli
Without getting in name-calling, etc., I would offer the following opinion: Andrea Bocelli has a beautiful natural voice that has a distinctive sound. He is also untrained and sings almost everything in the same way, which accounts for the kind of detachment that one listener spoke of. He's not terrible with Santa Lucia. But when he sings opera, he falls short. Still, as I said, it's a beautiful natural sound.
Bocelli belts out songs like a truck driver during a long trip. He is absolutely awful! There is no interpretation, no expressiveness, nothing that ties the song to the singer. Being blind and Italian, does not make you a good singer, though apparently, it is enough to hoodwink lots of people into buying his songs and making him wealthy. For all his wealth, he does not seem to know a good hairdresser, or barber. Get a haircut, get a shave, and stop your maudlin caterwauling you pathetic slob!
@JoanBond001 I suppose you would say the same in regards to Pavarotti. Ever one likes are different and thus opinions. Love his hair. Hard to find another with this talent and blind.
@sharonsplace4 Being blind has nothing to do with singing or having a good haircut, though Bocelli loves to play on his blindness for sympathy. Good for you that you like him. Mediocrity has its followers. Comparing him to Pavarotti, is blasphemy. Bocelli should be spelled Botched-Up. His maudlin attitude, and mediocre singing makes me puke!!
@sharonsplace4 No! Pavarotti had a voice like concentrated sunshine bursting forth with warmth, expressiveness, color, light, and joy. Anyone comparing Pavarotti to Botched-It Bocelli, is musically-challenged, or likes maudlin mediocrity. When I hear Pavarotti, I feel like singing. When I hear Botched-It, I feel like vomiting. Why should I go along with his fan's views? I'm describing my honest feelings listening to this crap. He has made a career out of people feeling sorry for him.
@JoanBond001 for you yes, but not for others. For me Bocelli's voice is like a warm summer rain in a field. Listening for him is like listening to Mozart: pure music, beauty. And like others opera singers he is not eager to show the power of his vocals. and I never feel sorry for any one.
@JoanBond001 Let me see if I understand you correctly! The millions of people who have either purchased his music, or paid to see him in concert, are all stupid because they can be "hoodwinked" by a blind italian guy. Further, that if a person does not have a hair cut and shave that meets your specifications they are a " Pathic slob". If that's the case; don't listen to him sing, but let the peons have their singer. As for hair? Somehow Albert Einstein comes to mind; a pathic slob?
@mt1eh Eistein had a brain, and was not a performing monkey on stage. He can have any hair he wants. Bocelli, or Botched-It as I call him, prances on stage in this 'image' of uncut hair, Yasser Arafat beard stubble, and other pretensions. If you cannot sing, at least come to the stage looking like you had a shower and shave. Botched-It is no Einstein. Don't even mention them on the same page, sheesh!! Probably has bad garlic breath too!
@JoanBond001 Panties in a bunch? What an overly-opinionated wretch you are..bend over and take it like the man you are. Your ideal man is more than likely one with Izod shirt, penny loafers,Dockers. You're the 'style police'? Va fangul.
Could you please check this guy out. He is one of my friends and is an amazing singer. His dream is to take up singing as a profession and just taking a look and leaving an honest rating would help him so much.
@nicktroppi ok sorry for being third generation but i thought she said grande as in spanish i dont speak italian sorry for not being 100% italian but i was certain she made a boo-boo , secondly dont call me stupid call me ignorant i prefer that name , and your kind for correcting me thnx
@luckywhale "Grande" means "great" (implaie that he is really good a big) It's a word of appreciation. She didn't mean to say "Grazie". I don't know if you're from "N"apoli, (with the capital please) however for sure you don't know our terminology. Maybe you are a third generation living in the US, I don't know, but we don't call people stupid without a reason.
Great :DD
