Well, it depends. People seem to only consider indigenous peoples in recent history, but most of the indigenous peoples who exist now replaced other indigenous peoples. It's a cycle. In the case of Britain, as far back as we know the Celts were the indigenous peoples (Welsh, Cornish, Picts). They probably weren't the first though.

i feel like my history and my roots were blinded by the white man. im so americanized and it never once crossed my mind of my true roots being indigenous people. ofcoarse, textbooks in school talk briefly about it. they want me to forget my real culture, but now that i know the truth, i dont ever want to forget and i want to learn more about my REAL culture. its a shame because my parents are americanized and they only see the differences in other people. but people are really ingorant now

I am a sami. not part, in sami culture, if you are sami then you are sami. our bloodlines are dilouted, our people will never diloute. een after the vikings killed most of us, most sami have some if not mostly viking blood. although most sami are mostly viking, we are all %100 sami. learn more about the indigenouse peoples of asia and europe.

Well actually, being indigenous means being "native to a specific geographical area" that does not indubitably signify physically (though it can in some cases - blood distinctions, etc). More so than genetic pooling or occupation, it means culturally distinctive and in ALL native concepts, the culture derives purely from the elements of the area. It can also mean the inhabitatants "pre-colonization" era, in this you still must exist.

Well, it depends. People seem to only consider indigenous peoples in recent history, but most of the indigenous peoples who exist now replaced other indigenous peoples. It's a cycle. In the case of Britain, as far back as we know the Celts were the indigenous peoples (Welsh, Cornish, Picts). They probably weren't the first though.

That's good. When people are able to see the beauty of their culture, they will have great appreciation. I am an ethnic minority from China and my people are facing the same, but instead of them wanting to be white, they're claiming to be something else. Most of my people live in poverty, and we have been struggling for 5000 years even after many policies and genocides have been made against my people. Hope the best for your people. Great video.
