  • Still I remind myself how I define myself. - My new motto.

  • no tool no muse just karnivool.

  • "So We are ehh... Gonna mix up some new shit with the old shit and a bit of fun shit and a bit of real shit, that sounds like good shit to me"

  • the drummer is amazing, the guitarist has some great ideas, the singer is talented...the overall structure and vibe of their songs make me tingle.

  • Gonna c them in Amsterdam 2nite . .can´t wait!

  • best band ever, cant wait to see them again live, they are pure genius, they take you on a journey, and tingle your spine...... listen to their albums from start to finish is the only way, dont one hit song them EVER

  • MOSHCAM is fucking amazing. like Karnivool

  • girl at 4:16.... yum

  • Reeeediculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THIS IS THE SHIT!!!!

  • these guys don't actually sound much like tool. if you actually know tool well you'll find they're really different. they share a "progressive" trait and use similar compositional techniques like odd time sigs and rhythms and heavyness but the feel and overall sound of the 2 bands is completely different. NOONE sounds REALLY similar to tool.

  • @OwnedRL Indeed tudzież zaiste.

  • @OwnedRL

Copy paste this in caps on every Karnivool vid on youtube please, it's the only way the retard commenters will understand :P

  • @OwnedRL the whole tool discussion is mute when tool, like metallica and others, see us as crimilas, so we cannot liste to them on spotify. so FU tool, I will never know if you sound like karnivool, base missed, goal misachieved. bye bye old shit, here is karnivool!

love em, especially that barking bass player

  • @5.52 = musical goosebumps

  • I still prefer this version to the one they changed slightly for the album. I don't know why. Maybe simply because I heard this first...

  • Massive respect to any band who sounds exactly the same live as they do on a recorded and mixed studio album <3

Massive respect to Karnivool in general. They never cease to please and amaze me :)

  • @n3ophy7e A lot of bands out can play the same as they sound on there record, but to sound better is far and few in between. Karnivool might be my new fav band! Some good shit, very underrated good shit

  • ya i pretty much this of these guys essentially as a much more alternative tool, but i love them just as much. Lyrically they are great, but no tool

  • Deadman is my favorite Karnivool song! They played it at their most recent show at the rock room in Illinois. Best concert I have ever been to in my life. I hope they come back to the states again soon

  • @voolfan92 Good to see the boys getting recognised internationally :)

  • hell yeah only watched the fist minute of it and already love it...awsome band

  • yes they intentionally changed it, i just asked ian he's next to me. no sorry thats a lie, i dunno

  • does anyone know the tuning of the bass or hoss? I know drew is in open Dm

  • I LOVE Karnivool. A lot.

  • one of the best vids on youtube hands down

  • burnbogan! At 2:57! I feel the same... :)

  • Did they intentionally change the lyrics for live?

  • this was before the album came out, they reworked it for the final release

  • @Venadar Nope, this was about a week after the album came out. I know, I was there, I barely knew the new songs, but it was still amazing.

  • @mallacoda1 Nice try but the vid was added before the album was out :p

This was recorded quite a while before, when they were supported by "that one guy". I know, I was there and spent the months before the album came out watching this vid.

  • It's live, it's their song, he's allowed to.

  • i love the riff at 2:57 sends shivers down my spine

  • SAME

  • Welcome to Finland! March 1 at Tavastia, see you there!

  • best band out live

  • please tour in the US

  • the stack steve usedafter recording was old top of 13 inch hats, old broken piece of shit 17 or 18 crash and broken 20 inch a custom crash. this was after the recording though, the one he used for recording is fucked

  • They keep the song alive by combining about 8 different riffs into one song. The beat goes up and down, keeping you entertained. And a side not, 6 string bass. I can barely play a five string, six is insane.

  • they are so incredible!!

got me goosebumps all over my skin!

  • does anyone know what the stacked splash on steve's ride is? he doesnt use it on this particular live version but at the start of the studio version he does?

  • If you go to Moshcam and sign up for an account (it's free) you can download this video and the quality is a little better :)

There's a whole gig there plus a few songs from a previous one.

  • does anyone think the guitar is slightly out of tune?

doesn't matter i still love them, they're gods of live performance

  • That's th whole point. The guitarist tunes his guitar to a hybrid of two scales (can't remember which two), which is what makes it SOUND SO DAMN GOOD!!!

  • so tight. what and amazing bunch of lads.

  • wat a fucken awesome song! so deep an melodic! i never get sick of this song no.11 is fucken awesome too on sound awake

  • HOLY FUCK THEY ARE SO GOOD!!!!!! they play just as good a metallica live

  • these guys are sick, and theyre ozzy fuck yeah!! RESPECT.

  • This band sounds more Tool than Tool itself at some point and that is not necessarily a bad thing. Awesome, super song and I really hope this band hits it big and actually makes it to European festivals.

  • if u think karnivool sounds like tool u should hear the newest track by dead letter circus

  • Which one's that?

  • @mwstand change part 2

  • dont mean to be a killjoy, but as amazing as dead letter circus' songs sound, unfortunately when playing live, most of it comes off an ipod and not from their instruments.

  • @tinkezione I'm from the states and everytime I tell someone about this band I tell them they're a mix between Tool and A Perfect Circle...which to me is perfect...awesome band...

  • @tinkezione: No one tops Tool...no one. But Karnivool is the next best thing.

  • This is the type of song where you can close your eyes and truly appreciate the journey music beholds.

    Karnivool are sick !

LETS HOPE THEY ARE AT BIG DAY OUT 2010 !!!

  • Wow, awesome sum up of good music.

    I second that opinion man.

    =)

  • prayers have been answered

  • @Mullineux1 u're right my friend... this kind of music makes u to really dig the awsome world of those minds... its just great... i really hope for them to come some day to Venezuela...

  • unbelievable......just get lost in it 4 years worth the wait..........

  • Wicked Performance best of Karnivool Iv seen. This song is amazing!!

  • favourite song off the new album... amazing!

  • and whys that?

  • I know a wonderful ear doctor if you'd like his phone number...

  • pfft... now that the album is released would you like to retract that statement?

  • No i would'nt at all and if your at the Melbourne Forum show bottles we're thrown at kenny whilst they started deadman....

I'm allowed my opinion and i dont have to Like every song.

I loved all the new stuff apart from Deadman and simple boy dragged a fair bit as well.

  • no one wants your opinion

  • the song does go for a long time. But you must admit the amount of talent to put this type of song together is simply amazing. The melodies are fairly complex and the tuning is very odd (DADFAD) and Ians vocals are so powerful and the song has a small story to it it the best :)

  • @jameslinton50

Is this DADFAD from 1st string to 6th or 6th string to 1st?

  • tune the low E to a D :)

  • wait.. that wasnt very helpful.. soz... from top to bottem

    D= LOW E

    A=A

    D=D

    F=G

    A=B

    D=E

hope that cleared thing up lol :)

  • I had figured it out later on but thanks for the help anyway! I tried playing something in that tuning, it didn't help!!!

  • dude... if the general populace think this is a good song then u must be retarded "big ray27" and yes fungus give him that ear doctor's number

  • dude you are so awesome, i wish i could predict melodies to my girlfriend, shed be so impressed, im sure your girlfriend was so impressed when u predicted a melody

  • she was'nt impressed at all she said the songs boring and i had to show her other karnivool songs to show her their talent

  • Wow you can actually predict a melody to your hand, man thats impressive.

  • your replys pretty stale lunchbox

  • Im sorry biggay27, well your face is pretty stale.

  • ray, Tool has been my favorite band for years and a big influence of mine, BUT I think its absolutely a fair comparison. I've heard Maynard's voice crack and be off pitch far more times than Ian Kenny.

If Karnivool had the following and the budget that Tool does, their live shows would blow them away. As it is, they already sound better than Tool live.

  • @wubstyle: I SOOOO AGREEEE!!!!! Finally!!!! Someone who's not dumb and starstruck!!!!

  • NEW ALBUM OUT END OF MAY!! :D

  • they just got some auora about there music!

  • in my mind, there the best band in the world! so i can't see why aus shouldn't make them there no.1!!

  • saw these guys when they played in the US excellent show amazing band so underrated they opened for NONPOINT!! WTF is that? also met the band which was kickass

  • so if you look at it like a real person... kenny should be considered a higher class musician, with the ability to switch between two generes and keep the same ian kenny sound in his voice...

  • have to dissagree... birds are amazing in there own sence... the fact that they arnt independent doesnt take away the fact that the music is amazing

Ian Kenny should be down as australias best singers, and in the world we know.

birds of tokyo, are a well thought out alternative rock band with yet a different taste to music than what is seen in the music industry thus far.

  • How is it, that a song this good, only has 702 views?????

  • haha, sad isn't it...

It's upsetting that people know Ian from birds, not Ian from Karnivool....

Music well thought vs pop $.....

Hopefully that turns around with their newy..!

    Awesome song....

  • i know ian from karnivool. never heard birds. altho ive seen they mentioned all over the place. meh.

  • yea i didnt know birds was around till a year after i heard about karnivool...

this man is... amazing... the best vocals i have heard in my entire life... hes up there with Maynard James Keenan

  • great song. loved every second of it

  • Oh my god. music this good should be illegal. you can defenitely hear their tool influence in this song. i have never been so stoked about a cd coming out.

  • SO EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM!!!

  • genius. their blog says they'll finish their mixing by the end of Feb apparently. cant wait! theres been too many delays already vool!!!

  • agree! absolutely amazing

    album 2?? may sometime??

  • absolutely amazing
