It boggles the mind how debt ceiling extension proponents can mention 'fiscal responsibility' out of one side of their mouths, and then turn around and attempt to justify continual increases in spending far outpacing revenue generated. The GDP numbers alone don't support *any* increase, let alone the excess that's being proposed and/or already passed. We're in a worse situation than we were when Reagan took over from Carter ~ history dictates what the preferred course of action should be.
