Today's so called "divas" are more or less just for kids/teens and don't appeal well to adults. It's sad after a good 70-year run. Jazz divas of the 1920s-1940s really pushed black women for more acceptance to whites, then the R&B/Soul divas of the 1950s-1970s really expressed lots of emotion. The "power ballad era" of the 1980s and 1990s turned out to be the "last hurrah" for divas.
There is so much dignity in the way you paid tribute to these beautiful artists - each making the door just that bit wider for others to enter into the poetic space of song, dance and artistry.
Diana, Mary, Florence & the rest of the Supremes experience, Nancy,Eartha, all of them,, The word DIVA is a dying breed now, All these Divas are irreplaceable.. Thanks again.
Pure class! Each and every one a Goddess!!!
