@ditush I know that's when her relationship with Goebbels was. Obviously we were not around in WWII - but it doesn't make her collaboration with Nazis moral or acceptable. As a Czech she should have been ashamed of herself, as indeed should anyone who claims to be a decent person. Relationship with genocidal hate mongerer = moral person worthy of any respect or admiration from people today? It doesn't equate for me.

She knew Goebbels and Hitler before the war started, and nobody could even imagine what evils these people are capable to do in the future. She refused Hitler's offer to become a German citizen and was afterward not welcomed in Germany. She paid a price, her acting career was ruined, her beautiful sister committed suicide, her family felt apart, she was exiled from country, and hated by millions. Let her rest in peace!
