cant believe we're doing american west for history an this links most bullshitiest thing ive ever learned of course its interesting to see what they do but when it goe sinto detail damn ..... a buffalo came and gave a script on how to live your life damm they have some serious lying issues come on face it
The Clunes didn't suck, they were just a rich family from California.
Yeah the kids were unenthusiastic, but look at it from their point of view - they were dragged away from their friends into this. They won't appreciate what a unique opportunity this was until later in life.
Give some credit to Gordon and Adrienne Clune; they showed up prepared to do what it takes to survive in the 1800s. Gordon was ready to hunt his own game and make moonshine. Adrienne knew how to cook and run a kitchen.
Mr. Clune was obese when they started the show. They are rich in real life. I forget what Mr. Clune did for a living, but PBS showed their Mansion in malibu after they returned from the frontier. The clunes cheated on this show. Farming was so difficult among other things so they were starving, which led to them having relatives come and bring them food to eat. It is a great show, I wish they would bring it back.
You can talk about supposed "rules" until the cows come home. I don't doubt for a second that someone from 1883 would have taken advantage of a situation had it presented itself. In addition, the show was not an accurate re-creation of frontier life because the families were not allowed to hunt. Back then, someone could have shot a buffalo and fed their family for a month. Liberal ninnies ruined this show, not the Clunes.
They really weren't allowed to HUNT? Booo. I still may buy a copy of this though., but I fail to see how you can really call it frontier life without being able to kill wild game...
yeah you are right. That was the main complaint from Mr. Clune when his family returned home. He started showing all of the venison he had stored in his freezer and said that they should have been allowed to hunt.
Totally agree. LIke most of the "house" projects, the whole point is to see if modern families could live in past times. This isn't "Survivor" where they are trying to work up ratings. It was a PBS docu-series meant for education. As gsajoe mentiones, hundreds of families tried out for all these series and they should have chosen the ones who abided by the life they chose to re-enact, not whine that they had no makeup to wear or xbox to play.
I agree. The Clunes were a lazy, self-indulgent lot who broke the rules they agreed to abide by at the start. They should have been put out on their ears after the second infraction.
samstr8, I didn't get "all worked up". The Clunes didn't follow the rules they agreed to follow. I don't think the producers picked them because they thought this would happen. If all the participants had done similiar to the Clunes, it would have been one big joke. Don't you understand that?
I do, but I'm just the big worked up jerk with the boring commentary.
The Klunes were terrible. What really pissed me off was that they were chosen over many other families and agreed to play by the rules but wound up cheating anyway when things got too rough for their liking. I guess you get that feeling of entitlement when Daddy hands you the family business.
I find it funny that gsajoe is so worked up over the Clune's. You write the same comments on all the videos, yawn...I don't think the integrity of the show was compromised by them at all. The producers probably knew exactly what they were doing when they chose them for the show, because conflict helps boost ratings. Frontier house overall was an awesome show, despite the Clune's antics
The Clunes were millionaires so I guess they're use to cheating.
