@Geezyone i totally agree with you..i was reading an article in the red eye and it was about the rise of teens smoking cigarettes the first set of teens was the black teens and 80% of them smoked..then Hispanic which didnt state an actual % but said about half....the last paragraph of the article which was the main point..stated the rise of whites from 12-17 were really doing all the smoking but didnt say a %...why way the blacks 1st and so high...were 1st in negative but last in positive things

Early Americans (Europeans) came to "America" and were in conflict with Indians whom they considered savages because they saw a lack of "civilization" amongst them (IE inequality). But they found they were good for work....for a while. This video was great in making the connection between the economic system, racism, sexism, and how people deal with things personally on a day-to-day basis. The idea that it's not masculine to be sexist is something that needs to really be emphasized in this day and age. The problem sweetheartbreaker666 is that in MY country as a black person, you can still pay taxes obey the law etc and still get harrassed. For example my cousin lives in ATL, well he has a good job, pays taxes etc. So he decides he wants to go for a jog in his neighborhood. Problem is, he's black. So while he is jogging, he gets pulled over, they ask if he has any weapons, he responds, just his Ipod. They call for back up. That definatley leaves an impression how one is viewed in society
The experiance that "your friend" had with the cops while he was jogging (though it may've been understandably uncomfortable and inconvenient) was NOT a problem. Though he was stopped, questioned, and searched by police, he was not arrested nor charged with any crime, allowed to continue on with his life, and did not have the misfortune of being arrested. It's when the cops slap on the cuffs, read you your rights, and take you to jail is when the "real problems" begin.
Yes, I can tell you from my own personal experiances that cops can be and sometimes are real pricks. I've had my fair share of less than pleasant experiances with them, as I'm sure most people have regardless of color or race. But as long as I, yourself, "your friend", & other people aren't breaking the law, than you should have no problems. Now if you or anybody else are breaking the law, or doing something they shouldn't be doing...well than that's a different story all together.

This is why it is so important to know who you are and who you are not.
80 percent of all U.S. prison populations consist of black male offenders. In other words, there are more black men behind bars then in colleges or universities. What does that mean...that black men are nothing more over-achieving career criminals??
It appears that alot of black men have a massive inferiority complex, especially when comparing themselves to white people. It's as if blacks feel they have to "prove" something to "White American" and/or need the validation and acceptance of whites to feel better about themselves. @Geezyone i totally agree with you..i was reading an article in the red eye and it was about the rise of teens smoking cigarettes the first set of teens was the black teens and 80% of them smoked..then Hispanic which didnt state an actual % but said about half....the last paragraph of the article which was the main point..stated the rise of whites from 12-17 were really doing all the smoking but didnt say a %...why way the blacks 1st and so high...were 1st in negative but last in positive things

Early Americans (Europeans) came to "America" and were in conflict with Indians whom they considered savages because they saw a lack of "civilization" amongst them (IE inequality). But they found they were good for work....for a while. Then they felt threatened by Indians enough that they looked to Africa for workers, whom they deemed savages because they did not have a similar society as they had in Europe. This video was great in making the connection between the economic system, racism, sexism, and how people deal with things personally on a day-to-day basis. The idea that it's not masculine to be sexist is something that needs to really be emphasized in this day and age. There's a whole "movement" of men who think masculinity=sexism and it's damaging themselves and it's damaging women too.
This video makes me wish Malcolm X was still alive b/c he was so intelligent and strong.

This doesn't only happen in America. I remember going to Canada on Vacation with my cousin (We're from the caribbean). We went to a corner store to get some items. We had already picked up what we wanted but decided to browse around. We noticed the (white) storekeeper was following us as we moved through the aisles. We decided to split up, dude almost gave himself a heartattack trying to move back and forth trying to keep up with us.

i don't deny that blacks have their particular problems to deal with, that are not related to "white oppression", but at the same time there are whites who inaccurately judge and make sweeping generalizations about blacks, in addition to lacking a full appreciative knowledge of the history behind the black experience in america. in history books, subjects related to blacks are always obscured and never go into elaborate detail, leading to distortions of history and common perceptions of it.

The problem sweetheartbreaker666 is that in MY country as a black person, you can still pay taxes obey the law etc and still get harrassed. For example my cousin lives in ATL, well he has a good job, pays taxes etc. So he decides he wants to go for a jog in his neighborhood. Problem is, he's black. So while he is jogging, he gets pulled over, they ask if he has any weapons, he responds, just his Ipod. They call for back up. That definatley leaves an impression how one is viewed in society

The experiance that "your friend" had with the cops while he was jogging (though it may've been understandably uncomfortable and inconvenient) was NOT a problem. Though he was stopped, questioned, and searched by police, he was not arrested nor charged with any crime, allowed to continue on with his life, and did not have the misfortune of being arrested. It's when the cops slap on the cuffs, read you your rights, and take you to jail is when the "real problems" begin.

Yes, I can tell you from my own personal experiances that cops can be and sometimes are real pricks. I've had my fair share of less than pleasant experiances with them, as I'm sure most people have regardless of color or race. But as long as I, yourself, "your friend", & other people aren't breaking the law, than you should have no problems. Now if you or anybody else are breaking the law, or doing something they shouldn't be doing...well than that's a different story all together.
