I saw Avatar at Christmas time on Satellite TV, they thought to premiere it on New Year's Eve. So I sat and watched James Cameron's 300 mill "masterpiece" and I was filled with ennui, everything just seemed far too predictable. I will give them points for the very beautifully crafted environment and ecosystem, but this alone cannot make it the spectacle it was claimed to be. Just shows how good marketing can convolute the masses into whatever they want to sell. Felt like the art of Damian Hirst

The story was actually pretty good, I mean star crossed love. Its like a futuristic romeo and juliet full of halo creatures and action sequences behind imagination! Yes the general shows everyone hes a complete hardass, cause he is, thats his character. A hardass general gone insane with his drive to never lose. personally, I thought the movie was interesting and i give it 10/10.

i don't get it, i thought this film was the greatest movie ive ever seen, yet all the reviewers apart from the magazines and shit bitch about it, even tho every person who has been to see it who i know thought it was astonishingly good. i guess reviewers just have to be stuck up and think that everything has to be perfect in a film to make it good. Agreed! This movie was so bad I puked in the theater. It just goes to show you how little intelligence the movie going public has. Special effects alone do not make for a good movie.
Emerald Forest, A Man Called Horse, DUNE, Dances with Wolves, the list goes on and on... if you think about it hundreds of movies have copied plot/structure of the seven samurai but are still considered classics or works of art because they put a new spin on an old theme. I just got back and REALLY enjoyed the film. good convincing bad guy, interesting spin and BEAUTIFUL graphics. i'd give it 9/10

Also, the name "unobtainium" has been used throughout human history for minerals which we don't know a lot about (or something). It wasn't made up for this movie haha.
yeah i agree with u all the way, but I was so absorbed in the beauty of the film to pay too much attention to its flaws, which after thinking about the movie, were numerous. still, it's the best movie i've ever seen despite its horrible script. It's worth a watch.
