You sit back, get baked with a friend, open a bag of chips and watch gems like 'It Conquered The World' and for a short time the world doesn't seem so shitty.
Ohhhweeee Beverly Garlands smokin hot! That being said we soon will experience horrors no movie can imagine its called the reign of the Antichrist and the Apocalypse of St. John.
An inverted ice cream cone with teeth around the bottom yes, but don't forget, a sort of rounded off pup-tent affair also. "IT'S THE END OF EVERYTHING!"
This monster, the Venusian Courgette aka Beulah, was designed by the same genius who was responsible for the killer tree stump in From Hell It Came, the brilliant Paul Blaisdell. They don't make em like this anymore, sad to say.
I like that confrontation scene of Beverly & the monster. These were the great days of the drive-in movie theater, and I really miss them. Awhile ago I bought this VHS halloween cassette called CREEPY CLIPS, and its an hour long wet your whistle for this kind of stuff with alot of great monster action scenes, mostly B&W. Fortunitely they list most of the movies on box cover.
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO RE-POST THIS MOVIE, please. It's the missing link in my Corman dvd collection. Plus,Pater Graves just died last month. And Beverly Garland is a freaking goddess.
LOL.....this creature looks almost exactly like the basement furnace in my old house when I was a kid. No wonder I was always afraid to go down in the basement.
@standupbassfiend : most definately!..& dats why i dont hav "cable"!..cause of the junk they show..if u, i or other viewers wanted to watch great "B" movies like these, we would hav no choice but to go out & purchase it, cause CABLE would want enourmous amout of money from the movie industry to air it! =0|
I think this is the movie where those flying creatures came from underneath the big "it" thing. The flyers would drop on your head and bore into the head of its victim. When the person stopped struggling a pool or blood would ooze out. When I was a kid seeing it in the 60s, it scared the crap out of me.
this is a good film unforgettable and the monster might seem silly but can scare you. beaulah was the nickname. this horror sci fi film historian knows these old films too well. i have a website honoring these forgotton actors & films. lets enjoy & not knock these classics, i have this on dvd. ive seen much worswe. beverly garland you were great. go at it baby. TOMK *ll see that thing in hell too Beverly. TOMK
Ladies and gentlemen the monster, apparently a very large poodle dog known to the residents in this area by the name of Frunobulax has just been seen approaching the power plant. Bullets can't stop it rockets can't stop it. Get out the pants we can't let it reproduce!
Zappa: "Cheepnis." Let me tell you something, do you like monster movies? Anybody? I LOVE monster movies, I simply adore monster movies, and the cheaper they are, the better they are. And cheepnis in the case of a monster movie has nothing to do with the budget of the film, although it helps, but true cheepnis is exemplified by visible nylon strings attached to the jaw of a giant spider . . . I'll tell you, a good one that I saw one time, I think the name of the film was "IT CONQUERED THE WORLD"
This is really a cleverly disguised prophecy from mastermind Roger Corman created to preview Earth's fate on December 21, 2012. I always thought that was such unmitigated bunk but now I believe in the threat of the cucumber creatures from beyond Pluto!
So this is what is coming to Earth from Nibiru? And underrated actress Beverly Garland will finally get her due as all the female hairstyles copy her 1956 do. But we really must join forces to stop those pesky little flying toilet paper creatures!
This film was mentioned on Frank Zappa's Roxy & Elsewhere album during the introduction to Cheepness. Peter Graves and Lee Van Cleef are in this Roger Corman film.
