Some people, to THIS DAY, "come to Zeppelin's defense" (so-to-speak) when I tell them my favorite band is KISS. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHY some people "get so defensive" when they hear the name "KISS." Maybe because, "back in the day," KISS "eclipsed" THEIR favorite band's success.

@MegaZephead Did you ever see zeppelin live? I did. Chicago stadium 1977. It sucked. I've seen about 150 shows-KISS,the Stones, the Who, Van Halen, AC/DC,etc. Zeppelin wasn't close to any of them. There was about 20,000 people and I don't think anybody cared when it was over. I'm guessing you're about 16.I really wouldn't say anybody sounds like a "PILE of SHIT" if you can listen Robert plant. Paul Stanley loves zeppelin but his idol is Pete Townshend. Seeing The Who in '69 changed his life.

KISS are truly OVERRATED and have earned the right only to play at a toddler's birthday party for him and his friends, with Barney stealing the show. Their guitar skills are synonymous with those of a high school kid coming home, retiring to his bedroom and picking up his guitar to practice, in the hope of reaching an unreachable rock-star dream.

The bass playing of Mr Long Tongue is lacklustre and pedestrian to say the least. As for the singing...well... put it this way - lose the tongue Gene!

@D1a2v3e4m5, high school kid guitar skills MY ASS!!! If anything, KISS had one of the most undervalued guitar players of all time in Ace Frehley. Most high school kids back in the day could only dream of playing like Ace. He was a guitar hero to millions - many of whom watch these videos and still listen to the albums. Ace is a badass, and one of the most unique players to sling a Les Paul over his shoulder.

The Destroyer and Rock And Roll Over tours: KISS at the top of their fuckin' game... Hungry. Energetic. Tight. What an incredible band - nothing will ever match this. It's pointless to argue about the tribute band they've become; remember how godawful the Psycho Circus tour was - even with Ace and Peter in the band today, they'd still just be 60 year-olds in spandex and facepaint, trying to recreate somehing that cannot be recreated. The real KISS is a memory - thank God it's well-documented.

this is awesome, but the editing is horrible. The audio at the beginning is the same as the beginning of the Tokyo show on Kissology. It changes to the actual audio at 42 seconds in. I'm sure the Tokyo show is mostly overdubs anyway.  Any good live recording you hear is usually filled with overdubs, especially with KISS. Not to say they are not good live, just the nature of the business.

Kiss were in special form for this show in terms of extra energy. Hey, Madison Square Garden and L.A Forum...biggest gigs going in the US back then. Tours climaxed at those two venues.

I'm not so sure "lipsynched" is the correct terminology. The KISSology editor(s) over-dubbed audio from the Budokan show, because they felt that the original audio was a bit shotty in the beginning of DRC. And then there's the irretable over-dubbing of crowd noise throughout many of the KISSology shows (1, 2, & 3). Watch the original MSG show, and though the show was sold out, it wasn't as loud as this over-dub job. Me no likes the tampering of authenticity!
