For those of you who are confused, Mephistopheles (abbreviated as Mephisto) was the name of a demon in a German legend who served as Satan's representative when a scholar made a deal with the Devil. The name has been used numerous times in fiction as a name for the Devil/Satan/Lucifer, but it's not a name mentioned in the Bible to my knowledge; however, Beelzebub and Legion (Blackheart's evolved form at the end of the film) are in the Bible.
