@UDflyer04 What do you mean break? In actuality you can only break the axis lock if you either bend the steel bar, or deform the liners to a point where the blade comes out. If one springs breaks, the other will still engage the lock. If both break, you can actually jam a piece of wood behind the bar and the bar will still lock the knife just as solid.
I only put lube on the bushings. There really is not need to lube the tang of the blade (even though it does come in contact with the lock).
@SharpSpears My grip actually has deformations were the top of the steel bar contacts the steel liners. I've stood on the lock of my grip, bounced a bit it the lock works fine. A little up and down play but nothing serious, spine-whacks don't do anything, etc.
Good review. You speak of the 140 nimravus M2HS. I have it with the Kydex sheath in mint condition. And I must say, it's an awsome blade. I do not think I will part with it.
Both have their merits. I've owned the Rukus longer and have used that more but I'm starting to EDC the 710. Personally I really like both, however, the Rukus is definitely the better cutter of the two. No competition there.
The 610 has a higher grind (near full flat) and broader blade profile. Also it has a little bit more weight plus a cool combo of handle materials.
The 710 though, is really light, good textured g-10 handles, smooth, and it's not coated.
I would do more folder reviews but sadly I just don't own that many. I wish I could have reviewed some of the nicer folders I had before I sold/traded them.
do you work out?

@SharpSpears
hey does the axis lock break like an automatic knife would since there are springs in there?
also do you put any lube in the axis lock or just the pivot screw?
thanks

God damn the Rukus dwarfs the 710 in size
mongomondomongo 3 years ago
Yep. The 710 is very close to 9 in overall and the 610 is 10.25 in overall. Pretty big difference when it comes to folders
SharpSpears 3 years ago
The 710 is a nice knife. I currently EDC the LE 710-801 (with CPM-M4 steel). Regards,
Julian

Interesting. I would have really liked to tried out the CPM-M4 steel but they did sell out quite quickly.

do u like the 710 more than the ruckus? i know they are completely different knives but which one do u like more / carry more.

You just got a new subscriber. Very, very, very informative review. I like it! :D
To be honest, your review style hits me spot on more than nutnfancy. This is how all reviews should be!
Anyways, I wish you would do more reviews on folders. If I could give you more than 5 stars, I would. 5/5
