I enjoyed this years awards, it was very well produced. Having the old Actor Winners to present the award to Best Actor, Actress etc.. was a lovely touch. Queen Latifa's performance was wonderful and emotional. Although, they did miss Anita Page from the Memorial Tribute which was a huge oversight.
You guys did a Outstanding Job this year with The Oscars.. I teared up all through the Oscars. Great job guys. Roland De Leon aka The Springtime65 Show San Antonio Texas USA
If you want to succeed in Hollywood, attack Republicans, make up stuff and call it true and claim it is a documentary. Nobody sees the movies that win. The blockbuster or popular movies are never nominated for anything other than technical stuff. The 2009 Oscars (for 2008 movies) celebrated homosexuals and attacked people who believe what the Bible says as intolerant. Big surprise.
The Oscars are dead, no one cares anymore. They shot themselves in the foot when they decided to make it an annual Bush hatefest. Now that Obama is in the white house, there's no reason for the few who were tunning in to do so this year. Big name celebrities have turned down invitations to attend since they won't get to bash Bush this year. Sorry Oscars, the rest of the world doesn't share your love affair with Sean Penn.
yep ur rite there....all the films in best film of the year award r not a patch on the dark knight....typical bleeding hollywood to think something that no one has ever heard of or no one likes to nominate it for a oscar
i agree about the dark knight. it should have been nominated for more, but the point of the oscars is to award good artistic merit in film, and film achievements... all that stuff. Popularity really isnt a factor in the Academy Awards, they have the peoples choice awards for that.
I have to disagree here. All the nominated films are amazing and while the Dark Knight was enjoyable, I don't think it has the same intricate plots or raw emotion as films like Slumdog Millionaire and The Reader. If there was one film that was snubbed, I think it was Revolutionary Road.
they should nominate unkown film so they get exsposher but to leave out the dark kight will hurt views and liitle films like milk frost nixion the visoter and waltz with basier wont get big exsposher
ps the dark kight is also the best film of the year
I'm shooting for Meryl Streep winning for Best Actress in "Doubt" and Heath Ledger winning for Best Supporting Actor for "The Dark Knight." Those are the two I really hope will win. Everyone else (or anything else) I don't care about.
I still can't believe they have Hugh Jackman hosting. I know people that were on the fence about watching it in the first place, but pretty much decided that they're not going to even bother now.
Is that Don LaFontaine doing the voiceover? I thought he was dead.

They can keep their Oscars and their Prime Time TV. Network television is nothing but mental junk food. Thank G-d for PBS and Independent Media!

This show needs more Dark Knight and less Benjamin Button.
The host makes me nervous too, but Hugh just might have it in him.
glenntadams 3 years ago 5
I thought that too, but then I looked up some videos of Hugh hosting the Tony Awards, and he's fantastic!

"THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON" will be the great winner of the night. Not that overrated "love story" slumdog millionaire.
