Keane has a point. People take half-knowledge and half-wits to extreme ego trips or personal agendas. I think discussion and passing on of information is a good thing. But people should stay aware, that they're not experts and that they're not talking to experts (usually). The internet doesn't replace in-depth research and study. It's tempting to get lost in a lot of issues on a very shallow level. (attention span anyone?)

I think this excellent advice, and right on the mark. Particularlly in Japan. I didnt notice it so much when I talk to european or south american non native speakers.
