Why do you have to pin your hair after you curl it?

I have a question about the hair styling tools, I have the same hair styling tool conair instant heat, I curled it once and my hair the next day got damaged and had to cut my hair at the ends coz it made my hair dry/damage conair is not ceramic right? doesnt that damage? even ceramic hair styles damage my hair :( i used the heat protectant and everything but no use any solutions to it??

@Effronteriex3 She can be happy with her dark eye color and still use them for fun. Just like people with curly hair like to straighten their hair and vice versa. It's not permanent, it's just fun to switch it up sometimes.

This looks good the only thing slightly different are the curls. When you brushed your curls they seemed real volumunous and all together. Her curls, from the photo seemed chunked as if you can see the curl already formed. I wouldnt recommend the brushing. But all is well!
