Yes, would be a good playmate for our Lucca who is a 12 wk old IG. He weighes a little over 3 lbs now. Love the way Emka turns her head to listen.

You should not get a puppy from a Kennel but from a breeder. It's usually what people say to do. I'm looking to get one also, but the british-american standard, means with spots, like you can see on my channel. Here in France the standard is smaller and unicolor. The price is around 1000 euros when you know I bought mine in the USA for 500$. If you british and you know a breeder let me know. Thank you.

I am very sorry for you and I know how you feel now. 3 weeks ago our almost 17 yeras old whippet girl Aika died. Knowing that she had a long and happy life with us makes me feel a little bit better but I am still very sad and i will miss her forever.

Greyhounds are known as being "40mph couch-potatos" and are more than happy to do whatever their owners are doing and if that means lazing in front of the telly Greyhounds will thoroughly enjoy that! Sure, they love to run, but they're equally happy doing absolutely bugger all! They're very sociable and just want to be 'part of the pack' - YOUR pack! Greyhounds really are the very best family dogs you can possibly own.

The ansew is never get a greyhound puppy far too many retired racers die each year because they can't find them holmes, they usually retire at 2 or 3 and they adapt very quick we have an ex racer his name is boss and he is brilliant you can take in a greyhound for free also we have a 4 yer old boy a cat and a german shepherd oh and 2 rats and everyone is happy adopt! thousands die!!!

Er...I think you got the two breeds mixed up. Emka, here, is an Italian Greyhound and they never get any taller than maybe 36 inches.

Racing greyhounds are larger dogs. While I agree that retired racing greyhounds can make great pets, they need equally athletic owners, IMO.

That is a common misconception, greyhounds are not a high energy dog! they need only two twenty minuete walks a day, they release energy in very short bursts look it up on wikipedia, terriers are a hell of alot more energetic, greyhounds are sometimes called 45 mph couch potatos as they literally sleep almost all the time they are inside! great!

she is so cute but, i don't suport this. she is not saved of the track. i think you should get greys off the track. I, 100%, don't suport dog breeding for profet. geting a greyhound this way is doing nothing to help save them. please help save the greyhounds.

I agree with you. There are many poor greyhounds that need good homes. Emka is not a greyhound, she is a miniature dog ("italian greyhound")breed that is not used for commercial racings or hunting. I have saved already a lot of dogs from bad places (not only sight hounds)...For example my whippet Zero that we have adopted as a puppy came from a really bad place...and is now a very happy dog. Emka was born lucky, she comes from a very nice and responsible breeder. Wish you all the best.
