They bought the rights in 2004 but didn't air it until 2005. They only showed 23 episodes in the US before the show went off the air in 2006 and in 2007, they lost all rights to it all together.

It's from the pilot episode/episode 1(originally episode 12 in Japanese). It never aired in the UK. I don't know if they thought that it would confuse the viewers too much or if they planned a DVD release with that episode as an extra but either way, it didn't air there. But one thing I find funny is that they used clips of it on Popgirl commercials.

@chloeandpopcorn Watch it in Japanese. 4Kids censors stuff which is why they may have issues with dubbing the ending since they might of removed something important. The Japanese title is Tokyo Mew Mew. I'm not sure if that version is complete but it should have more episodes.

It was from the pilot episode that aired first on TV and is also the first episode on every MMP DVD released(this episode was originally 12 in the Japanese version). For some reason(most likely to avoid confusing the viewers), that episode was never shown in the UK.

You did. It's just that that particular episode didn't air there, which I find funny since they show clips of it on one of Popgirl's advertisments.

If you want to see it, you can watch it on my 2nd account, MewMewInternational. It's in a playlist, labled as Episode 1/12(since it's episode 1/the pilot in the English dub but it was episode 12 in the original Japanese version). After you see the edits done to the episode, you'll find out why they didn't air it there XD.

Yep. But, after episode 12, it can also be used times when not all the Mew Mew are there but only as long as Zoey is part of the sequence(like in episode 21). But when Zoey's not there, it's Animal Instinct(like the sequence in episode 24).

It could be all the edits and changes to the original plot of the story they do. But most people who complain are the older anime fans who've read the the manga and seen the show subtitled before it was licensed. Also the fact that they never finished this series made some of the fans of the English version kind of mad too.
