Im currently a sophmore at seward highschool and i play RB. My freshman year i made varsity and ran for 644 yards and scored 9 touchdowns. my sophmore year i ran for 1,235 yard and scored 18 touchdowns . Im a white guy who is 6 foot 2 and weighs197 pounds so i have the size. toby gerhart is my idol
@MULLagain5150 i played rb, and just because the play call is designed to hit a certain hole doesn't mean you should, its called vision, sometimes you can see a hole for the playcall and it might get your a 5 yard gain cuz you see people at the 2nd level unblocked, there was a corner coming from his left where his fullback was leading him and if he had tried to cut to right in the open space he wouldn't have had enough momentum to break the tackle and bounce off
mayve if his whole family wasnt held back so they would do good in sports he woulnt be that goood. anyways his brother sucks andd.. a white runningback dosnt look goood
@TheBryannbarney um, gerhart is only 23, the age of most guys is if they stay in college for the entire time, he ws 22 his senior seson of college, the same age as guys like Noel Devine are right now. His looks what arey ou a fag? He looked solid for his first significant playing ime, and last time i checked Peyton Hillis and Danny Woodhead were doing great.
@TheBryannbarney pay your respects... when you can run, carry, and smash the ball down the field like "white" boy here can.... then you can say anything you can... for now shut up!!
@brazy007 thank you for the correction. but if you correct me i must correct you. PCL is a crucial ligament. PCL= Posterior Cruciate Ligament. ACL= Anterior Crutiate Ligament MCL= Medial collateral ligament LCL= Lateral collateral ligament
What's the Vikings' logic in drafting Gerhart when they already have a young and established RB in Peterson? Gerhart needs a trade simple as that. I'm most certain THEY want him to be a fullback, which is completely insane.
dwid, Pat Williams might not like Gerhart, but I think MOST of his teammates will take a liking to him soon. Toby's a good natured guy. Unfortunate that there is some hostility towards Toby from Williams though.
Mark was averaging 6.1 ypc in 2009. Gerhart had 72 more carries than Mark did, that totals up to about 440 yards. If Ingram had as many carries he could have ended the season with around 2100 yards in the SEC. Enough about Toby Gerhart
@GriffinMcCarley by that logic, Toby Gerhart was averaging 14.3 yards per catch, if he had the same amount of receptions as Ingram, he would have had 457 receiving yards to go along with his 1871 yards rushing. Doesn't work that way. You don't gain stats in hypothetical situations. Ingram is on a better team, surrounded by more talent, and has backs to give him breathers. There is no guarantee that he would continue to avg 6.1, so enough about him. Yo also forgot about the 28 tds gerhart had
and if your argument against Gerhart having more touchdowns is that he got more goal line carries, then it destroys your first argument, because goal line carries lowers your total yards per carry, it can take 2 or 3 tries in the redzone to punch it in, and sometimes only be a 2 or 3 yard carry
@GriffinMcCarley quite possibly? that is still a hypothetical, there is no way to tell. You don't shouldn't win trophys on hypothetical situations. Where do you draw the line? do we say Texas is the national champion, because had Colt McCoy not gotten injured in the early part of the game, they would have had a better passing attack, no freshman mistakes? Do we say Utah was the real national champion in 2008 because they went undefeated and slaughtered Alabama, the only team they got to play?
or better yet, do we say Boise St or TCU were national champions last year? being that they went undefeated, but never got a shot to play a bcs team in a bowl game. The BCS was afraid of another Utah-Alabama situation, or Boise st -Oklahoma. Can't have the SEC embarrassed again when they have the largest television contracts now could we? So they scheduled them to play each other We are speaking hypothetical right?
@choua1855 hes leading all vikings backs in yards per carry, including Adrian Peterson, the blocking the preseason hasn't been that good. Young (supposedly 3rd down back) has 13 carries for 16 yards with a long of 9. Peterson's longest rush this preseason is 24, Toby Gerhart's is 22, he has done the most with little to no blocking, he has carried mutlple defenders, (one play 2 defensive tackles for 4 yards) where as guys like Young are getting stuffed with the same blocking
Albert Young got carries with the first string offense against the rams and had 6 carries for -7 yards, Gerhart went against the rams first string defense with the 2nd string oline and did much better, it is the game where he broke off the 22 yard run
Toby may be white but I went to school with him and I played football with him he is one mother fucking beast so until u can play better than him and can prove it shut the fuck up u stupid ass bitch
@MyMomHasMoustache a team that already had a top 5 back, just like Brian Leonard being drafted to the Rams who had Steven Jackson and Jacob Hester being drafted to the Chargers who had Ladanian Tomilson. Gerhart was drafted to the Vikings who have Adrian Peterson. Funny how every white hb manages to go to a team with a super star back so they can never get a bunch of carries. Vikings coach came out and said Gerhart won't even have a Chester Taylor type role and will be a "traditional backup"
@dwid1984 Yeah, the NFL that has a white commisoner, all white owners, and more white coaches ARE OUT TO STOP WHITE RB'S from taking over. Yeah, that makes sense. Could it just be that they're PICKING THE BEST TALENT. If the guy is that has the best talent is non-white, THEN SO BE IT. Its not that there can't be white RB's obviously since Mike Alsottt, Franco Harris, and Larry Z, etc. Just haven't been any good white ones recently. One comes out in Gerhart and he goes high in draft,
@Slimkidd730 yeah white guys just stopped being able to run the ball after 1985. Actually most owners are JEWISH. The media is JEWISH. Jews are not white. And there is no rule that whites can't be racist against other whites. Racism is the belief that one race is superior. At one point in time they thought black quarterbacks were inferior. If the media (jewish) repeats a myth enough times, then dumbasses like you start to believe it.
there hasn't been a white guy to rush over 1,000 yards since 1985, the NFL was already integrated in the 70's. It s not like white guys just stopped knowing how to run with the ball. They got asked to beef up and converted to linebacker and fullback. Some of the best white college halfbacks just happened to go to a team that already had an established halfback. Leanord to St Louis with Steven Jackson, Jacob Hester to Chargers with LT and now Gerhart with AP. Texans could have used Gerhart
and WHITE coaches like Bobby Bowden have laughed at the idea of ever putting a white guy at halfback, no matter how talented he was. Yeah, there is no discrimination going on. Tony Dungy has stated himself that there is racial slotting in football, it starts at the lower levels, its "this position is a black position, and this position is a white position. Blacks have claimed halfback is THEIR position. You see how Gerhart is getting treated by HIS OWN TEAMMATES during NON CONTACT DRILLS?
Pat WIlliams was hitting Gerhart all day full speed in non contact drills, its obvious the black guys on the team don't want him playing halfback so Childress has come out and said that gerhart will be more of a traditional back up, as in not seeing the ball at all, not even in a Chester Taylor role. 26 white kids led their state in rushing, and maybe one of them has a major fbs d1 offer. These are kids with great measurables as well as stats to back it up.
@Slimkidd730 and I guess Jacob Hester who rushed for 1,000+ yards in the SEC was no good as well right? Danny Woodhead, who broke NCAA al time rushing record at Chadron State d2, runs 4.3 goes undrafted. Has best rushing performance in a preseason game since 92 and gets no playing time. Peyton Hillis, identical high school career to Beanie Wells, only offered scholarship to play fullback, runs a 4.58 (same as Beanie) but at 250, Broncos leading rusher avg 5 ypc, what do they do, draft Moreno
Moreno is smaller and slower, couldn't convert short yardage and fumbled a bunch, avg 3.8 ypc, yet did Hillis ever see the field in 09 after putting up 129 yards on a number 1 ranked Jets defense who didn't allow any other player to rush for 100+ yards on them that season, he led the broncos in rushing in 08, also had a 100+ yard receiving game as well. Nope got about 8 carries for the season.
Nate Kmic, played at Mount Union, broke Danny's rushing record with 8,000 plus rushing yards. runs a 4.5, not even given a camp invite to tryout in the NFL. Brian Westbrook played at a small school and ran a 4.56. And Pierre Garcon played at THE SAME COLLEGE as Kmic, yet didn't break any records, yet he gets drafted despite not having the best hands. No discrimination there.
Jake Sharp, had 1100+ yards from scrimmage his junior season and runs a 4.3 which was verified by multiple scouts. Had a foot injury his senior season so stats weren't as good but was healthy well before the combine, but GOT NO INVITE. Yet Kahil Bell was injured his entire career, never rushed for more than 400 yards in a season, invited to the combine, ran a 4.7 and got a roster spot for the Bears and carried the ball a bit. Sharp got an invite to the Bears but was released da same day by Smith
This is the same Lovie Smith who made fun of Brock Forsey (another white runningback out of Boise State) saying "what is this guy, an equipment manager?" He cut Forsey after he had an impressive 100+ yard rushing game. He also jerked Mike Hass around for years. Hass ran a 4.6, not fast but definetly not too slow, Boldin runs a 4.7. Hass looked good every preseason yet never got a chance to play regular season WR, despite the Bears not having a quality wr besides a converted DB.
Luke Lippincott, had 2 1,000 yard seasons at Nevada. Runs in the 4.5 range and is 6'1 220 pounds. Averaged 7.7 ypc last season and broke 1,000 despite splitting carries with Vai Taua, the first time 3 guys rushed for 1,000 yards in one season. Not even invited to tryout for a team. Was it competition? ran well against some of the same teams Ryan Mathews did, yet it didn't hinder Mathews draft status, and Mathews was injury prone.
Luke Staley, the best rusher in BYU history. Had a monster career, won the Doak Walker award his last season but drafted in the 7th round, not given any real shot to run the ball. These are just the guys that managed to get carries at hb even after racist recruiting services ranked them low or not at all, and these are the few that weren't converted to safety, fullback or linebacker. Toby is Cali's all time leading rusher, only a 3 * prospect and if he had chosen USC, would be a linebacker
So don't try to tell me that Gerhart happens to be the only good white runningback that has come out in the past 20 years. I gave you quite a few examples in the past decade. Gerhart just happens to be the 1st white halfback that insisted that he was a halfback, not a fullback. If he didn't have so many 200+ yard games vs ranked opponents, taking Stanford on his back to their 1st bowl game in a decade he wouldn't be high profile. Hester didn't speak up and hes now a fullback
go look at the recruiting services for high school football players, how many black quarterbacks are in the top? quite a bit. How many white runningbacks? hardly any. How many white receivers? also, hardly any. Yet these 2 and 3 star prospects outshine their 5 star counterparts when given a chance. Austin Collie led the nation in receiving the other yr .When majority white teams play teams with 4 and 5 star black recruits, they beat them 90% ofthe timeYeah no bias by the recruiting services. Y
whites and blacks are equal in football, at all positions. You are brainwashed. " when a lie is the only message that is heard and the truth is hidden or manipulated for so long, it becomes next to impossible for people to believe the actual truth when it finally is revealed. a really poignant example of this is the Bolshevik Revolution"
@dwid1984 ever heard of Hunter Furr he was another amazing runningback along with others but he could run the 100m sprints in 10.4 seconds with his world class speed he was not recognized for it and got the position as a fullback and yet he was the fastest guy at his collage and one of if not the fastest in his state, and all because of a stupid stereotype.
@89kbatt i highly doubt it, you will see how average of a back Tate is, workout warrior who put up a 1k season with a brilliant offensive coordinator in Gus Malzahn
/watch?v=hgcBPczLUI0&feature=player_embedded watch how many yards players in his offense get by defenders taking themselves out of the play completely,
For a guy with great measurables he doesn't have many big plays, Gerhart has the same amount of 50+ yard plays is a 4.5 guy, and Gerhart has 3 times the amount of 20+ yard runs
in the end the Texans are going to regret not taking Gerhart when they had the chance. Tate lacks agility and at best will be a third down receiving back in a role similar to Brian Leonard of the Bengals. He doesn't have good vision on inside runs, doesn't break as many tackles for someone his size, inconsistent and has had fumbling problems (again why take him over Gerhart when they are suffering fumbling issues with Slaton?)
@dwid1984 AHA guess what buddy.....HE PLAY'S IN THE PACIFIC 10 CONFERENCE. What a joke. HUGE difference from the SEC. My man Ben would have the the Heisman in his hands NO PROBLEM if he was in any conference other than the SEC. If your little Toby played in a true conference he wouldnt be worth 2 shits. BTW look at the combine. Ben outperformed Toby ON EVERY DRILL. BTW tate ran a 4.43 and repped 26 times.......you'll see when that #43 Texans is acceptin' ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. go cardinals aha
god you are so ignorant. The SEC is a top heavy conference with only 2 teams being elite (Alabama, Florida) and the rest are average and compare to mid level pac 10 teams. Like Tennesee who lost to UCLA. Their back did horrible against UCLA, but ran for 1000 yards in the SEC. Lets see how Ben Tate did against the only competition in the SEC that is elite, Alabama, 18 carries, 45 yards 2.5 ypc, oh wait lets go to lower level teams, Georgia, 20 att 67 yards 3.4 ypc or LSU 18 att 67 yards 3.7 ypc
Lets take a look at Hardesty's stats against a bottom tier Pac 10 team, 26 carries for 89 yards 3.4 ypc 1 td. UCLA's back Franklin ran for 80 yards on 17 carries 4.7 ypc against Tenn. Franklin is a below average back and only rushed for 500 yards against pac 10 opponents, yet he had one of his better games against an SEC team. Hardesty ran for 1300+ yards against SEC teams avg 4.8 ypc but couldn't even crack 100 yards on 25 + carries against UCLA! lol and your claiming the sec is the best.
and who cares about what Tate did at the combine running in shorts with no pads on. His combine production does not matchup with what he did on the field, he has shown poor agility in football games, lack of explosiveness/slow first step, no speed to get to the edge. The only time he had big plays is when the Coordinator had crazy misdirection plays and had defenses tripping over themselves running the wrong way, btw Toby was right behind him in pretty much every drill and 15 pounds heavier
beating Ohio State 3 times in a fake national championship does not make the SEC the best conference. Ohio State's coach is a horrible play caller in big games,. Alabama lost to Utah in the Sugar bowl the year before, since the SEC brings in the most tv revenue, they were afraid to have another matchup like that, so they scheduled TCU against Boise St., both undefeated. Also beating a Texas team with a inexperienced freshman quarterback does not make you the best either.
Toby would dominate any conference, especially the SEC, especially when a much slower, less athletic version of him in Jacob Hester rushed for 1000 yards and was the main reason LSU won the national championship.
My opinion he runs alot like Larry csonka he's all power my not be fast but runs with power can wait to see him on the vikings and what him and adrian peterson do in the same back field
@sfsn77 nothing like csonka imo, and Toby is fast, 4.5 is plenty fast for a 230+ pound back, guys like Wells and Moreno ran slower. He reminds me more of Corey Dillon. His speed in the 10-30 yard range is very good, which is all you really need in the NFL, because unless you are Chris Johnson, you won't be breaking off many runs longer than 30 yards. Csonka was 6'3 240 pounds and was a former DE. His legs kind of went outward when he ran, had a weird style but it worked.
@beaneroopie you mean the same knee guys like cushing, malauga, mays, matthews and countless others have been aiming for the past two years? that they have managed to hit but its still fine? I think he will be okay. He only had an mcl, totally different from an acl, and if you haven't noticed the entire stanford team seems to have the same brace on, the qb, the te etc.. Watch the games where defenders get frustrated and aim for his knees, the launch into it, and he has been fine
the system is messed up he one every major RB award but didnt win the heisman i'm not trying 2 down mark Ingram but toby gerhart was supposed to win the heisman the heisman is decided on individual effort and standford wouldnt have 1 all those games if it wasnt 4 him. my team got him N the draft
@FreshTaper1994 dude you are wack... He plays in a puss-ass conference. The pac10 plays highschool defense... Mark ingram won that shit fair and square... He had like 100 less yards that gerhart did rushing and like 200 more than him receiving he also got all his yards with 2/3 the touches gerhart did, and thats huge... he didnt get robbed he just got outclassed... dont punish mark ingram because his coaches made him play conservative and pulled him when they were up by 20 unlike gerhart
@datbamaplaya i'm not saying ingram is bad i just think gerhart has the small edge over him Gerhart carry'd his team on his back every week he got like 40 carries every game he lead them to a bowl game amagine if they didnt have him
@bpjohnson81 apparently your reading skills SUCK because you cant see WHERE IT SAYS FUCKING NEW HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2009 CLICK HERE, AND WHERE IT SAYS THIS IS THE FUCKING HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 08 SEASON WHEN HE RUSHED FOR 1100 YARDS, but i guess him bouncing it to the outside and burning defensive backs for 50 yards "sucks", speed ppl said he didn't have, oh and I guess in this video where he runs well against Brian Cushing, Rey Malauga, Clay Mathews, guys all the nfl, 2 in the pro bowl, "sucks"
fucking dumbass, READ THE FUCKING INFO where the link is FOR THE NEW FUCKING HIGHLIGHTS, I PUT THE LINK IN THE FUCKING INFO AND HAVE PUT IN THE COMMENTS A MILLION FUCKING TIMES, BUT STILL, FUCKING RETARDS LIKE YOU STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO VIEW THIS VIDEO FROM 2009
wow!! this is a great pick by the Vikings to add with Petersen in the backfield. This guy reminds me of John Riggins, former Redskin running back in the 80's. This guy is a freight train
They asked if it made me feel entitled, or like I felt I was a poster child for white running backs. I said, No, Im just out there playing ball. I dont think about that. I didnt really know what to say. -Toby Gerhart " I guarantee you if he was the exact same guy but he was black hed go in the first round for sure, the scout said. **If this happened to black QB, AKA "do you feel like the poster child for black QBs...could you imagine?! FOR MORE GRADE A RACISM, CLICK ON MY PROFILE AT ONCE!
@heimerz yeah howdare some1 use underground rock for a backgorung song instead of the same watered down r &b/hip hop, how about this, they should put requiem for a dream soundtrack on it, that would be original wouldnt it?
@hardcorehouse are you retarded? can you read? this is from 08 and I had only 2 complete games. The updated video is 10 minutes and no replays. Ron Dayne was 250 pounds, slower than Gerhart and ran with no power, there is no similiarity between him and Gerhart
Watching this video I had the feeling I was being shown the same play 3 or 4 times over from different viewing angles. Anyway, I wish this guy the best but I don't think he runs over guys like Earl Campbell used to. Maybe I'll be proved wrong.
@Peterh588 theres two plays replayed once, pretty much every highlight video does this. If you would actually read the info, this video is from 08 and I only had 2 complete games. There is link in the info to the 2009 Doak walker award season, with NO REPLAYS and its longer. Show me where does he get the majority of his yards by running people over? he only does that as a last resort to gain a few yards, you dont rush for 1800+ in one season by that alone.
he is slippery, and has deceptive speed, he gets his yards by having a great initial burst and finding the hole without dancing around. Just because he is big doesn't mean he is just a a bruiser. He has power ans speed. As for not being able to do it, ask Brian Cushing , Clay Mathews and Rey Malauga, all 3 in the NFL who couldn't stop him in college, 2 of those guys made the pro bowl.
and I repeat, READ THE INFO, THE LINK TO HIS 2009 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS IS IN THERE,10 MINUTES, NO REPLAYS
Slippery? It's hard to tell, the STanford Line keeps most people off of him.
Deceptive Speed? THat's just another way of saying someone has no speed, but we're going to coin a new term to trick you into thinking he has speed. This guy has speed, but he ain't gonna make it in the NFL.
@Portastern slippery the stanford line does not do anything for him pas the line of scrimmage, they open up holes like any line does for its backs. He burst through the line of scrimmage and guys think they have a tackle on him but only wind up getting a hand because his burst is so great so he slips through them. Stanfords line wasnt that great, the rarely got to the second level. Every good back gets initial hole. Deceptive speed= long strides that make it look like hes not going as fast idiot
but I guess hes the only back that suffers from that disease, the one where you need blocking to run. Everyone acts like the Stanford line was great but they were average. They rarely got to the second level, and they couldn't hold their blocks for long, so if you arent fast enough they weould have close up. The backup runningback got 12 carries against Notre Dame with the same blocking and averaged 2.9 ypc, the blocking didn't look so great with him in it. DId you even watch him play?
and id like to see that crystal ball you have that can see what he will do in the NFL. I need the lotto numbers, Go watch the Stanford OU game, Luck was out so they put 9 in the box, Stanford's line got dominated, there wasn't much there for Toby yet he still ran well. Its funny how people all of a sudden believe that Stanford's line is filled with 5 star recruits now that a white guy is doing well. Name one back that has done anything without blocking besides Barry Sanders or Gale Sayers
I guess 30 carries 135 yards 1td was "nothing" against a defense with NFL ready defenders on it, receiving little blocking and 9 defenders in the box because no passing attack, Luck was injured.tthe previous year when they played USC, a defense that had 9 out of 11 defenders drafted, this year there will be Mays, (2 of those guys went to the pro bowl) He also did well, 20 carries 101 yards 1 td, I guess that was nothing too right?you still offer no reason why he wouldn't make it in the NFL..
my vaulue system is football rugby to be a man, or basketball, i was in hawaii i am a eltest i hate weak woman, these racist mother fuckers tried to set me up with asain woman, worst genegetics in the world, uglest woman in the world, i want my sons to be linbackers not to get beat the fuck up, i would not know what to do with a asain son,
i love india girls and south american girls not my own race, they are hotties so atleast 1 out of 2 thier beauty worth my sons not having manly genetics.
My main man, Toby "the two ton truck" gets it done...once he gets his game face on and moves that 235 pounds...yardage. Will be a feature back and more durable than Mike Alstott. Can see him making a John Riggins impact on the league.
My main man, Toby "the two ton truck" gets it done...once he gets his game face on and moves that 235 pounds...yardage. Will be a feature back and more durable than Mike Alstott. Can see him making a John Riggins impact on the league.
NFLdraftscout has now listed Toby's time at 4.5. I think Toby's fastest hand-time was 4.5. His average time was about 4.55. I have yet to see an official electronic time released. NFLdraftscout lists Toby faster than McCluster and more than half of the other backs in the top 20. He's fast enough and absolutely dominated on the field. He should be a 1st round pick in a fair world.
yeah just like how Toby Gerhart had more rushing yards against Washington than the entire stable of LSU backs, including Charles Scott when he was healthy. He also put up way better numbers against UCLA than Hardesty, who tore up SEC defenses, but only managed to average 3.4 ypc against UCLA, a bottom of pac 10 team. Some "experts" have Hardesty ranked higher than Gerhart because of the "tough" defenses he faced, even though he didn't do crap agains the pac 10
@bucknut0256 and noone from Ohio State managed to average more than 3 ypc against Oregon either, not even Pryor, who averaged 10 ypc against a good Penn St defense.
@dwid1984 but Oregon's runningbacks were successful against Ohio State, Blount ,who didn't play all year averaged 7 ypc, James averaged 4.7 ypc with 70 yards. Barner averaged 9 ypc with 64 yards. Ohio State didn't shut down their running game, they had 160+ yards rushing on them. They only shut down the passing game.
@marshall2411 lol so that is supposed to make their run defense better? because they gave up big runs? You can't just take runs away. I can play this game. Yeah and if you take away the two touchdowns Pryor threw then Oregon wins it
@marshall2411 , no because a big run puts them in scoring position. I would rather not give up a big run. There were only 2 big runs, yet they still averaged quite a bit, had a few 10+ yard runs as well. The first big run resulted in a field goal, Blount rushed for a touchdown, and then a back had a 30 yarder but then the next carry Blount fumbled in the endzone. no 3 and outs after a big run. just luck that blount had fumbled (rust)y if that doesn't happen and the kicker doesn't miss, they win
@dwid1984 so if Blount doesn't fumble, ducks win? Not so fast! Who says they would even score? If the ducks score, so, what does that guarantee? Remember, tOSU had the ball last, ran out the clock, they too COULD have scored, so you can't say that
@dwid1984 I think Oregon had a great team, they just ran into a good defense with a GREAT front 4 on defense. Seems OSU won the line of scrimmage battle on both sides, so maybe speed doesn't always win?
Nobody knows good anyone can be until given the oppurtunity. The stats speak for themselves. The dude was use to seeing 8-9 men in the box. Stanford had very little in the passing game. His speed is decent for a whitey ford i suppose. 4.50. not bad. His line did give him some holes, but its his job to see them. Guess we will see how he does soon huh? Go Whitey... hahahah . Damn racist people. I would like to see a chinese running back. ha.
Chinese people don't play football. Asians got together and decided. Japanese people play baseball, Samoans play football, Mongolians wrestle, Koreans play soccer, Thailand took kickboxing and volley ball, and the Chinese have...Olympics I guess. And India decided that it would suck at all sports equally, except cricket, which no one gives a shit about.
Theres Cheng Ho who played at Harvard, had 800+ yards from scrimmage a few years back as a halfback. Timmy Chang put up similar numbers as Colt Brennan in college. Hines Ward is half Korean. Haruki Nakamura for the Ravens is a decent backup with promise. Kevin Kaesviharn started for the Saints in 08
There is a football league in Japan, they play ex Notre Dame players. The only problem they tend to be smaller than other races, but thats on average. There are a few that are big enough
I was actually kidding, but that's good to know. I think it probably comes down to it being an American game that is particularly focused on in areas of the country where you don't have large Asian American populations (e.g. Texas and Ohio). Asians are on average shorter than those of European and African ancestry, but I would think that would limit basketball potential more than football.
I was actually kidding, but I did say Chinese. There are many Asian football players, they are called Samoans. For instance, Junior Seau and Troy Polamalu to name two. Hence why I said that when the Asians all got together and decided, Samoans were the ones that got football.
Yes there are other Asians as well. I know this. Who doesn't play football are the Jews. Ever heard "and starting at middle linebacker it's Hayyim Birnbaum?" Not going to happen. Jews aren't good at sports.
as a black man dats a redskin fan i'm tired of people comparing him to white rb. clearly this cat is the 2nd eddie george or stephen jackson the combo of speed and power. john riggin was pure power (thnik marion barber). this kid is power and speed a lot faster than marion barber almost in between barber and adrian peterson. he gon tear the nfl up if he get a chance. he's a freak of nature.
And I hate when people say he is a FB.He almost won the hiesman as a RB not FB..I hope the jets get him and will cry if the fins or pats get him.I dont care bout the bills they stink anyways.Sorry bills fans
@maddog10306 its not bad tackling most of the time. Its called being slippery. Hes very slippery as a runner, he has deceptive speed and defenders think they have a tackle on him but he is going so fast they wind up getting just a hand which he can slip through. He didn't run a lot out of the wildcat, he really only did it in the bowl game when the starting qb was out
great players make other players look poor, which is what Toby does and he will do the same in the pros. Tackling isn't the greatest in the NFL anyway. More teams are adapting their defenses for spread out passing attacks and using smaller, faster but undersized defenders, much like many college teams have already done. Powerbacks like Toby will tear these defenses apart.
I think that he manhandle's alot of these collage player's.But im scared if he faces NFL type of talent .He might get taken down easier. And there is a whit RB in the NFL that saw action in 2009..His name is CORY WOODHEAD from the jets.We used him a little when leon got hurt...
um, with no passing attack, he had over 100 yards on a USC defense that had 8 defenders drafted, a ninth one this year in Taylor Mays. Brian Cushing, Rey Malauga, Clay Matthews, two of those went to the pro bowl in their rookie year, Rey M considered for DROY. They only allowed one other 100 yard rusher that season. btw the Jets guy is named Danny Woodhead, not Cory. He had the record for most yards in college history, and had the best preseason rushing performance since 1995 and runs a 4.3
yet Danny barely gets any playing time and is listed as a slot receiver. Brian Westbrook played against similar competition in college ran a 4.57 and was picked in the 3rd round. Did i mention that Woodhead had the most rushing yards in NCAA HISTORY? a D3 player passed him up this year but d3 players don't get scholarships.
He could be chinese & he'd still be a top 10 RB talent ... Lay of the race for just one vid Ok YouTube .. There's a couple guys I value higher than him , Dwyer , Mathews, Best , Spiller, Hardesty , but Toby is rite around 6 or 7 ..
I agree with TheMobtuff. There are alot of great white rbs in college but in the NFL, how many? Not none that start and Toby Gerhart should get a time to shine in the NFL as rb bcuz he is amazing and is the best rb in the nation.
yeah he wont slip out of the 2nd round, hes first round talent but ther is a bias for black running backs so we'll see about that. Lol mike mayock has his listed 4th in his HB list.. He thinks he looks like a fb though.. so sad.
Looks like Taylor Mays official time isnt 4.43, closer to the original 4.24, probably 4.3, I told you it takes up to 2 weeks on this.
Watch the video
/watch?v=m24X1vOVGXw
hes right behind guys that ran 4.3's and ahead of guys who ran close to 4.4, they did a side by side comparison. I never cried racism, Im saying there are mistakes. It happens. Nothing is official yet
What will the white bashers, er..I mean "Toby" bashers come up with now. He shut all of his critics up by having a better combine than the others rated in front of him(Dwyer, Blount, et al..why doesnt anyone talk about these guys being "FBs" I wonder???), outperformed the others on the field, ran a faster 40 than the 30-40lbs lighter B. Westbrook n kNOSHOWn Moreno...I forgot he has that dreaded "white mans disease," nothing can cure that!! READ MY PROFILE to find out whats really going on!
no, its officially from people inside the building.
"Don't get too carried away by this "official" stuff. I timed the guy twice personally, as did a source of mine who was actually in the building. We came up with essentially the same times so that's good enough for me. I am putting Gerhart down with a 4.55."
"I use an average of four times, two of my own and two from a source."
thats the owner of draftcountdown who has been accurate in the past, no reason to think he would make up stuff now, especially for a player he doesn't seem to care too much for,
I dont know why you are so obessed with proving he ran a 4.6, at the end of the day he still ran faster than all of the other powerbacks, dwyer, dixon, blount, the list goes on. He ran a 4.55, but if you think youve proved something by insisting he didn't then go ahead and think that, but it doesn't prove anything.
Too bad he won't play in the NFL, being AP's backup

MULLagain5150 3 months ago
@MULLagain5150 i played rb, and just because the play call is designed to hit a certain hole doesn't mean you should, its called vision, sometimes you can see a hole for the playcall and it might get your a 5 yard gain cuz you see people at the 2nd level unblocked, there was a corner coming from his left where his fullback was leading him and if he had tried to cut to right in the open space he wouldn't have had enough momentum to break the tackle and bounce off

Gerhart - 23
Peterson - 25
What's the Vikings' logic in drafting Gerhart when they already have a young and established RB in Peterson? Gerhart needs a trade simple as that. I'm most certain THEY want him to be a fullback, which is completely insane.
indianwhite 1 year ago
dwid, Pat Williams might not like Gerhart, but I think MOST of his teammates will take a liking to him soon.

GriffinMcCarley 1 year ago
@GriffinMcCarley by that logic, Toby Gerhart was averaging 14.3 yards per catch, if he had the same amount of receptions as Ingram, he would have had 457 receiving yards to go along with his 1871 yards rushing. Doesn't work that way. You don't gain stats in hypothetical situations. Ingram is on a better team, surrounded by more talent, and has backs to give him breathers. There is no guarantee that he would continue to avg 6.1, so enough about him. Yo also forgot about the 28 tds gerhart had
dwid1984 1 year ago
and if your argument against Gerhart having more touchdowns is that he got more goal line carries, then it destroys your first argument, because goal line carries lowers your total yards per carry, it can take 2 or 3 tries in the redzone to punch it in, and sometimes only be a 2 or 3 yard carry
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984 There is also no guarantee that his average would go down. He could quite possibly boost that average
GriffinMcCarley 1 year ago
@GriffinMcCarley quite possibly? that is still a hypothetical, there is no way to tell. You don't shouldn't win trophys on hypothetical situations. Where do you draw the line? do we say Texas is the national champion, because had Colt McCoy not gotten injured in the early part of the game, they would have had a better passing attack, no freshman mistakes? Do we say Utah was the real national champion in 2008 because they went undefeated and slaughtered Alabama, the only team they got to play?
dwid1984 1 year ago
or better yet, do we say Boise St or TCU were national champions last year? being that they went undefeated, but never got a shot to play a bcs team in a bowl game. The BCS was afraid of another Utah-Alabama situation, or Boise st -Oklahoma. Can't have the SEC embarrassed again when they have the largest television contracts now could we? So they scheduled them to play each other We are speaking hypothetical right?

choua1855 1 year ago
@choua1855 hes leading all vikings backs in yards per carry, including Adrian Peterson, the blocking the preseason hasn't been that good. Young (supposedly 3rd down back) has 13 carries for 16 yards with a long of 9. Peterson's longest rush this preseason is 24, Toby Gerhart's is 22, he has done the most with little to no blocking, he has carried mutlple defenders, (one play 2 defensive tackles for 4 yards) where as guys like Young are getting stuffed with the same blocking
dwid1984 1 year ago
Albert Young got carries with the first string offense against the rams and had 6 carries for -7 yards, Gerhart went against the rams first string defense with the 2nd string oline and did much better, it is the game where he broke off the 22 yard run

What NFL team was Toby drafted too?
MyMomHasMoustache 1 year ago
@MyMomHasMoustache a team that already had a top 5 back, just like Brian Leonard being drafted to the Rams who had Steven Jackson and Jacob Hester being drafted to the Chargers who had Ladanian Tomilson. Gerhart was drafted to the Vikings who have Adrian Peterson. Funny how every white hb manages to go to a team with a super star back so they can never get a bunch of carries. Vikings coach came out and said Gerhart won't even have a Chester Taylor type role and will be a "traditional backup"
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984 Yeah, the NFL that has a white commisoner, all white owners, and more white coaches ARE OUT TO STOP WHITE RB'S from taking over. Yeah, that makes sense. Could it just be that they're PICKING THE BEST TALENT. If the guy is that has the best talent is non-white, THEN SO BE IT. Its not that there can't be white RB's obviously since Mike Alsottt, Franco Harris, and Larry Z, etc. Just haven't been any good white ones recently. One comes out in Gerhart and he goes high in draft,
Slimkidd730 1 year ago
@Slimkidd730 yeah white guys just stopped being able to run the ball after 1985. Actually most owners are JEWISH. The media is JEWISH. Jews are not white. And there is no rule that whites can't be racist against other whites. Racism is the belief that one race is superior. At one point in time they thought black quarterbacks were inferior. If the media (jewish) repeats a myth enough times, then dumbasses like you start to believe it.
dwid1984 1 year ago
there hasn't been a white guy to rush over 1,000 yards since 1985, the NFL was already integrated in the 70's. Texans could have used Gerhart
dwid1984 1 year ago
and WHITE coaches like Bobby Bowden have laughed at the idea of ever putting a white guy at halfback, no matter how talented he was. Yeah, there is no discrimination going on. Tony Dungy has stated himself that there is racial slotting in football, it starts at the lower levels, its "this position is a black position, and this position is a white position. Blacks have claimed halfback is THEIR position. You see how Gerhart is getting treated by HIS OWN TEAMMATES during NON CONTACT DRILLS?
dwid1984 1 year ago
Pat WIlliams was hitting Gerhart all day full speed in non contact drills, its obvious the black guys on the team don't want him playing halfback so Childress has come out and said that gerhart will be more of a traditional back up, as in not seeing the ball at all, not even in a Chester Taylor role. 26 white kids led their state in rushing, and maybe one of them has a major fbs d1 offer. These are kids with great measurables as well as stats to back it up.
dwid1984 1 year ago
@Slimkidd730 and I guess Jacob Hester who rushed for 1,000+ yards in the SEC was no good as well right? Danny Woodhead, who broke NCAA al time rushing record at Chadron State d2, runs 4.3 goes undrafted. Has best rushing performance in a preseason game since 92 and gets no playing time. Peyton Hillis, identical high school career to Beanie Wells, only offered scholarship to play fullback, runs a 4.58 (same as Beanie) but at 250, Broncos leading rusher avg 5 ypc, what do they do, draft Moreno
dwid1984 1 year ago
Moreno is smaller and slower, couldn't convert short yardage and fumbled a bunch, avg 3.8 ypc, yet did Hillis ever see the field in 09 after putting up 129 yards on a number 1 ranked Jets defense who didn't allow any other player to rush for 100+ yards on them that season, he led the broncos in rushing in 08, also had a 100+ yard receiving game as well. Nope got about 8 carries for the season.
dwid1984 1 year ago
Nate Kmic, played at Mount Union, broke Danny's rushing record with 8,000 plus rushing yards. runs a 4.5, not even given a camp invite to tryout in the NFL. Brian Westbrook played at a small school and ran a 4.56. And Pierre Garcon played at THE SAME COLLEGE as Kmic, yet didn't break any records, yet he gets drafted despite not having the best hands. No discrimination there.
dwid1984 1 year ago
Jake Sharp, had 1100+ yards from scrimmage his junior season and runs a 4.3 which was verified by multiple scouts. Had a foot injury his senior season so stats weren't as good but was healthy well before the combine, but GOT NO INVITE. Yet Kahil Bell was injured his entire career, never rushed for more than 400 yards in a season, invited to the combine, ran a 4.7 and got a roster spot for the Bears and carried the ball a bit. Sharp got an invite to the Bears but was released da same day by Smith
dwid1984 1 year ago
This is the same Lovie Smith who made fun of Brock Forsey (another white runningback out of Boise State) saying "what is this guy, an equipment manager?" He cut Forsey after he had an impressive 100+ yard rushing game. He also jerked Mike Hass around for years. Hass ran a 4.6, not fast but definetly not too slow, Boldin runs a 4.7. Hass looked good every preseason yet never got a chance to play regular season WR, despite the Bears not having a quality wr besides a converted DB.
dwid1984 1 year ago
Luke Lippincott, had 2 1,000 yard seasons at Nevada. Runs in the 4.5 range and is 6'1 220 pounds. Averaged 7.7 ypc last season and broke 1,000 despite splitting carries with Vai Taua, the first time 3 guys rushed for 1,000 yards in one season. Not even invited to tryout for a team. Was it competition? ran well against some of the same teams Ryan Mathews did, yet it didn't hinder Mathews draft status, and Mathews was injury prone.
dwid1984 1 year ago
Luke Staley, the best rusher in BYU history. Had a monster career, won the Doak Walker award his last season but drafted in the 7th round, not given any real shot to run the ball. These are just the guys that managed to get carries at hb even after racist recruiting services ranked them low or not at all, and these are the few that weren't converted to safety, fullback or linebacker. Toby is Cali's all time leading rusher, only a 3 * prospect and if he had chosen USC, would be a linebacker
dwid1984 1 year ago
So don't try to tell me that Gerhart happens to be the only good white runningback that has come out in the past 20 years. I gave you quite a few examples in the past decade. Gerhart just happens to be the 1st white halfback that insisted that he was a halfback, not a fullback. If he didn't have so many 200+ yard games vs ranked opponents, taking Stanford on his back to their 1st bowl game in a decade he wouldn't be high profile. Hester didn't speak up and hes now a fullback
dwid1984 1 year ago
go look at the recruiting services for high school football players, how many black quarterbacks are in the top? quite a bit. Y
dwid1984 1 year ago
whites and blacks are equal in football, at all positions. You are brainwashed. " when a lie is the only message that is heard and the truth is hidden or manipulated for so long, it becomes next to impossible for people to believe the actual truth when it finally is revealed. a really poignant example of this is the Bolshevik Revolution"
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984 ever heard of Hunter Furr he was another amazing runningback along with others but he could run the 100m sprints in 10.4 seconds with his world class speed he was not recognized for it and got the position as a fullback and yet he was the fastest guy at his collage and one of if not the fastest in his state, and all because of a stupid stereotype.

just watch
89kbatt 1 year ago
@89kbatt i highly doubt it, you will see how average of a back Tate is, workout warrior who put up a 1k season with a brilliant offensive coordinator in Gus Malzahn
/watch?v=hgcBPczLUI0&feature=player_embedded watch how many yards players in his offense get by defenders taking themselves out of the play completely,
For a guy with great measurables he doesn't have many big plays, Gerhart has the same amount of 50+ yard plays is a 4.5 guy, and Gerhart has 3 times the amount of 20+ yard runs
dwid1984 1 year ago
in the end the Texans are going to regret not taking Gerhart when they had the chance. Tate lacks agility and at best will be a third down receiving back in a role similar to Brian Leonard of the Bengals. He doesn't have good vision on inside runs, doesn't break as many tackles for someone his size, inconsistent and has had fumbling problems (again why take him over Gerhart when they are suffering fumbling issues with Slaton?)
dwid1984 1 year ago
89kbatt 1 year ago
god you are so ignorant. The SEC is a top heavy conference with only 2 teams being elite (Alabama, Florida) and the rest are average and compare to mid level pac 10 teams. Like Tennesee who lost to UCLA. Their back did horrible against UCLA, but ran for 1000 yards in the SEC. Lets see how Ben Tate did against the only competition in the SEC that is elite, Alabama, 18 carries, 45 yards 2.5 ypc, oh wait lets go to lower level teams, Georgia, 20 att 67 yards 3.4 ypc or LSU 18 att 67 yards 3.7 ypc
dwid1984 1 year ago
Lets take a look at Hardesty's stats against a bottom tier Pac 10 team, 26 carries for 89 yards 3.4 ypc 1 td. UCLA's back Franklin ran for 80 yards on 17 carries 4.7 ypc against Tenn. Franklin is a below average back and only rushed for 500 yards against pac 10 opponents, yet he had one of his better games against an SEC team. Hardesty ran for 1300+ yards against SEC teams avg 4.8 ypc but couldn't even crack 100 yards on 25 + carries against UCLA! lol and your claiming the sec is the best.
dwid1984 1 year ago
and who cares about what Tate did at the combine running in shorts with no pads on. His combine production does not matchup with what he did on the field, he has shown poor agility in football games, lack of explosiveness/slow first step, no speed to get to the edge. The only time he had big plays is when the Coordinator had crazy misdirection plays and had defenses tripping over themselves running the wrong way, btw Toby was right behind him in pretty much every drill and 15 pounds heavier
dwid1984 1 year ago
beating Ohio State 3 times in a fake national championship does not make the SEC the best conference. Ohio State's coach is a horrible play caller in big games,. Alabama lost to Utah in the Sugar bowl the year before, since the SEC brings in the most tv revenue, they were afraid to have another matchup like that, so they scheduled TCU against Boise St., both undefeated. Also beating a Texas team with a inexperienced freshman quarterback does not make you the best either.
dwid1984 1 year ago
Toby would dominate any conference, especially the SEC, especially when a much slower, less athletic version of him in Jacob Hester rushed for 1000 yards and was the main reason LSU won the national championship.

I didnt really know what to say. -Toby Gerhart " I guarantee you if he was the exact same guy but he was black hed go in the first round for sure, the scout said. **If this happened to black QB, AKA "do you feel like the poster child for black QBs...could you imagine?! He just could be the next Ron Dayne of the NFL. There must've been a dearth of good plays to run the same plays 4 times each.
hardcorehouse 1 year ago
@hardcorehouse are you retarded? can you read? this is from 08 and I had only 2 complete games. The updated video is 10 minutes and no replays. Ron Dayne was 250 pounds, slower than Gerhart and ran with no power, there is no similiarity between him and Gerhart
dwid1984 1 year ago
but I guess you were too busy to read filming young men dancing and uploading them to youtube. You are a 45 year old man, grow up
dwid1984 1 year ago
Watching this video I had the feeling I was being shown the same play 3 or 4 times over from different viewing angles. Anyway, I wish this guy the best but I don't think he runs over guys like Earl Campbell used to. Maybe I'll be proved wrong.
Peterh588 1 year ago
@Peterh588 theres two plays replayed once, pretty much every highlight video does this. If you would actually read the info, this video is from 08 and I only had 2 complete games. There is link in the info to the 2009 Doak walker award season, with NO REPLAYS and its longer. Show me where does he get the majority of his yards by running people over? he only does that as a last resort to gain a few yards, you dont rush for 1800+ in one season by that alone.
dwid1984 1 year ago
he is slippery, and has deceptive speed, he gets his yards by having a great initial burst and finding the hole without dancing around. Just because he is big doesn't mean he is just a a bruiser. He has power ans speed. As for not being able to do it, ask Brian Cushing , Clay Mathews and Rey Malauga, all 3 in the NFL who couldn't stop him in college, 2 of those guys made the pro bowl.
and I repeat, READ THE INFO, THE LINK TO HIS 2009 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS IS IN THERE,10 MINUTES, NO REPLAYS
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984
Slippery? It's hard to tell, the STanford Line keeps most people off of him.
Deceptive Speed? THat's just another way of saying someone has no speed, but we're going to coin a new term to trick you into thinking he has speed. This guy has speed, but he ain't gonna make it in the NFL.
Portastern 1 year ago
@Portastern slippery the stanford line does not do anything for him pas the line of scrimmage, they open up holes like any line does for its backs. He burst through the line of scrimmage and guys think they have a tackle on him but only wind up getting a hand because his burst is so great so he slips through them. Stanfords line wasnt that great, the rarely got to the second level. Every good back gets initial hole. Deceptive speed= long strides that make it look like hes not going as fast idiot
dwid1984 1 year ago
but I guess hes the only back that suffers from that disease, the one where you need blocking to run. DId you even watch him play?
dwid1984 1 year ago
and id like to see that crystal ball you have that can see what he will do in the NFL. Name one back that has done anything without blocking besides Barry Sanders or Gale Sayers
dwid1984 1 year ago
I guess 30 carries 135 yards 1td was "nothing" against a defense with NFL ready defenders on it, receiving little blocking and 9 defenders in the box because no passing attack, Luck was injured.tthe previous year when they played USC, a defense that had 9 out of 11 defenders drafted, this year there will be Mays, (2 of those guys went to the pro bowl) He also did well, 20 carries 101 yards 1 td, I guess that was nothing too right?you still offer no reason why he wouldn't make it in the NFL..

Jackflash84 1 year ago
No its pac 10 and no defense just like oregon destroyed everyone in pac 10 then saw a real defense and got shut down....
bucknut0256 1 year ago
yeah just like how Toby Gerhart had more rushing yards against Washington than the entire stable of LSU backs, including Charles Scott when he was healthy. He also put up way better numbers against UCLA than Hardesty, who tore up SEC defenses, but only managed to average 3.4 ypc against UCLA, a bottom of pac 10 team. Some "experts" have Hardesty ranked higher than Gerhart because of the "tough" defenses he faced, even though he didn't do crap agains the pac 10
dwid1984 1 year ago 2
@bucknut0256 and noone from Ohio State managed to average more than 3 ypc against Oregon either, not even Pryor, who averaged 10 ypc against a good Penn St defense.
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984 but Oregon's runningbacks were successful against Ohio State, Blount ,who didn't play all year averaged 7 ypc, James averaged 4.7 ypc with 70 yards. Barner averaged 9 ypc with 64 yards. Ohio State didn't shut down their running game, they had 160+ yards rushing on them. They only shut down the passing game.
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984 most of those stats are because Oregon had a few big gaines against OSU. I remember Barner had a 40 yarder?
marshall2411 1 year ago
@marshall2411 lol so that is supposed to make their run defense better? because they gave up big runs? You can't just take runs away. I can play this game. Yeah and if you take away the two touchdowns Pryor threw then Oregon wins it
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984 I would rather give up a big run, then get a 3 and out, right?
marshall2411 1 year ago
@marshall2411 , no because a big run puts them in scoring position. I would rather not give up a big run. There were only 2 big runs, yet they still averaged quite a bit, had a few 10+ yard runs as well. The first big run resulted in a field goal, Blount rushed for a touchdown, and then a back had a 30 yarder but then the next carry Blount fumbled in the endzone. no 3 and outs after a big run. just luck that blount had fumbled (rust)y if that doesn't happen and the kicker doesn't miss, they win
dwid1984 1 year ago
@dwid1984 so if Blount doesn't fumble, ducks win? Not so fast! Who says they would even score? If the ducks score, so, what does that guarantee? Remember, tOSU had the ball last, ran out the clock, they too COULD have scored, so you can't say that
marshall2411 1 year ago
@dwid1984 I think Oregon had a great team, they just ran into a good defense with a GREAT front 4 on defense. Seems OSU won the line of scrimmage battle on both sides, so maybe speed doesn't always win?
marshall2411 1 year ago
Nobody knows good anyone can be until given the oppurtunity. The stats speak for themselves. The dude was use to seeing 8-9 men in the box. Stanford had very little in the passing game. His speed is decent for a whitey ford i suppose. 4.50. not bad. His line did give him some holes, but its his job to see them. Guess we will see how he does soon huh? Go Whitey... hahahah . Damn racist people. I would like to see a chinese running back. ha.
t4mrocks 1 year ago
Chinese people don't play football. Asians got together and decided. Japanese people play baseball, Samoans play football, Mongolians wrestle, Koreans play soccer, Thailand took kickboxing and volley ball, and the Chinese have...Olympics I guess. And India decided that it would suck at all sports equally, except cricket, which no one gives a shit about.
jdlund 1 year ago
Theres Cheng Ho who played at Harvard, had 800+ yards from scrimmage a few years back as a halfback. Timmy Chang put up similar numbers as Colt Brennan in college. Hines Ward is half Korean. Haruki Nakamura for the Ravens is a decent backup with promise. Kevin Kaesviharn started for the Saints in 08
There is a football league in Japan, they play ex Notre Dame players. The only problem they tend to be smaller than other races, but thats on average. There are a few that are big enough
dwid1984 1 year ago
I was actually kidding, but that's good to know. I think it probably comes down to it being an American game that is particularly focused on in areas of the country where you don't have large Asian American populations (e.g. Texas and Ohio). Asians are on average shorter than those of European and African ancestry, but I would think that would limit basketball potential more than football.
jdlund 1 year ago
@dwid1984 i think they're pretty good in field hockey- if u consider this a sport.
drrichardwiesenhuber 1 year ago
@jdlund cow wire and ward are both asian ...
therat36 1 year ago
I was actually kidding, but I did say Chinese. There are many Asian football players, they are called Samoans. For instance, Junior Seau and Troy Polamalu to name two. Hence why I said that when the Asians all got together and decided, Samoans were the ones that got football.
Yes there are other Asians as well. I know this. Who doesn't play football are the Jews. Ever heard "and starting at middle linebacker it's Hayyim Birnbaum?" Not going to happen. Jews aren't good at sports.

as a black man dats a redskin fan i'm tired of people comparing him to white rb. clearly this cat is the 2nd eddie george or stephen jackson the combo of speed and power. john riggin was pure power (thnik marion barber). this kid is power and speed a lot faster than marion barber almost in between barber and adrian peterson. he gon tear the nfl up if he get a chance. he's a freak of nature.

maddog10306 1 year ago
I like him.He has great cuts. And he ran alot out of the wildcat and destroyed his opponents..But some of those plays look like just bad tackling.
maddog10306 1 year ago
@maddog10306 its not bad tackling most of the time. Its called being slippery. Hes very slippery as a runner, he has deceptive speed and defenders think they have a tackle on him but he is going so fast they wind up getting just a hand which he can slip through. He didn't run a lot out of the wildcat, he really only did it in the bowl game when the starting qb was out
dwid1984 1 year ago
great players make other players look poor, which is what Toby does and he will do the same in the pros. Tackling isn't the greatest in the NFL anyway. More teams are adapting their defenses for spread out passing attacks and using smaller, faster but undersized defenders, much like many college teams have already done. Powerbacks like Toby will tear these defenses apart.
dwid1984 1 year ago
I think that he manhandle's alot of these collage player's.But im scared if he faces NFL type of talent .He might get taken down easier. And there is a whit RB in the NFL that saw action in 2009..His name is CORY WOODHEAD from the jets.We used him a little when leon got hurt...
maddog10306 1 year ago
um, with no passing attack, he had over 100 yards on a USC defense that had 8 defenders drafted, a ninth one this year in Taylor Mays. Brian Cushing, Rey Malauga, Clay Matthews, two of those went to the pro bowl in their rookie year, Rey M considered for DROY. They only allowed one other 100 yard rusher that season. btw the Jets guy is named Danny Woodhead, not Cory. He had the record for most yards in college history, and had the best preseason rushing performance since 1995 and runs a 4.3
cfhighlightvideo 1 year ago
yet Danny barely gets any playing time and is listed as a slot receiver. Brian Westbrook played against similar competition in college ran a 4.57 and was picked in the 3rd round. Did i mention that Woodhead had the most rushing yards in NCAA HISTORY? a D3 player passed him up this year but d3 players don't get scholarships.
cfhighlightvideo 1 year ago
He could be chinese & he'd still be a top 10 RB talent ... Lay of the race for just one vid Ok YouTube .. There's a couple guys I value higher than him , Dwyer , Mathews, Best , Spiller, Hardesty , but Toby is rite around 6 or 7 ..
Str8truth24 1 year ago
I agree with TheMobtuff. There are alot of great white rbs in college but in the NFL, how many? Not none that start and Toby Gerhart should get a time to shine in the NFL as rb bcuz he is amazing and is the best rb in the nation.

no, its officially from people inside the building.

I dont know why you are so obessed with proving he ran a 4.6, at the end of the day he still ran faster than all of the other powerbacks, dwyer, dixon, blount, the list goes on.
