No offense, but using Linkin Park for an amv is very cliche and What I've Done is one of their most overplayed/overrated songs. Not to mention the song itself being an amv cliche. Other than those minor complaints, awesome video.

@SaphireGhoul No. The symbiote was not evil initially. All it did was take over his body while he was asleep to fight crime. Peter took it to Reed Richards for analysis because he was tired all the time, and rejected it when he found it was alive and wanted to merge with him. It tried to rebond with Peter by force, but he wounded it with a church bell. It recovered and bonded with Eddie Brock due to his obsession with Spider-Man, and Brock's hatred drove it insane and made it evil.

@1993MovieMan The symbiote may have started off like "a lonely child with a skewed sense of morality", but it has a will of its own and after being bonded to the hate-filled Eddie Brock, it became filled with hatred and bloodlust to the point where even Eddie rejected it. Now it attempts to take over its host to satiate said bloodlust, as best shown by Mac Gargan's stint as Venom III and Flash Thompson's struggles for dominance with it as Venom IV.

@Sh4d0wKat Exactly , Brock and Kasady corrupted the symbiote , not the other way around ! That`s why later comic writers trying to paint the selfish , vengeful sociopath Brock as this great " defender of the innocent " pisses me off so much !

@1993MovieMan Brock's view of innocence was highly subjective, but he considered himself a hero - and it was his cell time with Cletus Kasady that gave him the Lethal Protector idea. While Brock was responsible for the Venom symbiote's descent into evil, it certainly embraced the "We'll eat your brain!" shtick for all it's worth. And in Eddie's defence, it's not like a pissed-off lovesick carnivorous alien parasite is good for your sanity. He would have killed himself had it not bonded to him.

@1993MovieMan The "symbiotes need adrenaline to survive" thing was a retcon that was implemented alongside the "Eddie has cancer" retcon and has been discarded and/or forgotten around the time Angelo Fortuna became Venom II, because it hasn't been mentioned since. The current stance is that while Eddie was bonded to it the symbiote suppressed his cancer to keep him alive, and that it eventually developed a taste for human flesh that Eddie Brock was loathe to sate and Mac Gargan all too eager to.

If anything , Kasady`s bloodlust and as Mordo so eloquently put it " hatred of humanity " made it worse than it would`ve been otherwise ! Even Spider-Carnage was the symbiote amplifying that alternate Peter`s confusion and anger at the possibility of being a clone !

@1993MovieMan Cletus Kasady and the Carnage symbiote are a special case, as their bond is so extensive they are more or less one being with Kasady's mind dominating the symbiote's. Even when bonded to someone else, the Carnage symbiote forces its host to kill indiscriminately, as shown by Ben Reilly in the comics and Tanis Neives stint as She-Carnage.

They also got the design of the black symbiote costume wrong. It was not a black & white version of the red & blue one, it was a completely different design altogether -- smooth black with no web pattern, and a large white spider emblem on the front and back with legs that joined at the sides to make one continuous design.

@44excalibur They deliberately based the symbiote's initial appearance on the one from the movies, where it was a black-and-white version of the red-and-blue suit, and used its change to resembling the comics' black suit to show its increasing influence on Peter.

I loved the scene from the 90's cartoon where venom unmasks Peter as spiderman as he is dangling from the roof of a building and news cameras are filming. The part that made me laugh was that Jameson grabbed one of the cameras and tried to get a clean shot of spiderman/peter, saying,"How do you focus this thing?!"

This series brought the symbiote together well. It gave it time to consume Peter slowly, and when he finally broke free and Brock became Venom, it didn't feel rushed. That's how a show should be. I wish this one was still on...
