cicero was a aristocrat fucking rich bastard who tryed to stop the people from getting any rights the greatest tyranny was the republic ruled by rich families and they had never accomplished anything they just were born in to rich families
I don´t think one of you historians would start to talk without beeing sure of having wikipedia in the back! By the way what the fuck is the meaning of this Vid.? Yap he was a talented orator and philosoph but not the only in human history and not that big to hail and praise him with a faggy Video and a Song that makes me think the maker is trying to get nominated at the Academy awards or to get elected as President.. ups I ment Faggydent at Christopher Street Day Inc. ! Faggy emotional buuaa
In my opinion, he was one of the greatest Romans that ever lived. He was not nobly born and what he achieved in his live was incredible. He was a man of virtue and justice and was an strong opponent of corruption that was often rife amongst the Senate.
Marcus Tullius Cicero was a genius, the greatest politician of all time. He was also a brillant philopher and the best lawyer of his time.
Whoever wants to know more about this exceptional man, I highly recommend to read Imperium and Lustrum by Robert Harris. It tells about all the polician intrigues of the roman civilization. Totally fascinating.
Sorry if you don't like the song, maybe it doesn't go, if you don't like it watch some of my other Cicero vids that i've made more recently - i think they're better.
@biagiotti2006 Really? The weirdest? I have seen weirder ones. The song is kinda of odd to put with Cicero, though. The Harry Potter vids that have Harry and Ron as a couple from clips from the 4th movie. That is weird. Or putting South Park and HP together. Of course, you could argue they are just odd in different ways.
One M. Parenti does not translate Latin. This is a major block if he wishes to revise history. Two- The Assassination seems to forget that before Caesar began his 'reform' program that he initiated a Civil War in which thousands died, thousands. In his own work, Caesar says that he did this to protect his dignity. Parenti has personal views of this country which necessitates that the Late Roman Republic fit that view.
The 8th most cited author of all time....Cicero was brilliant! Mark Antony made sure that he had an awful death: he was decapitated, pins stuck in his tongue & his head tossed in sea like a football...so disrespectful.
@RV56 Cicero had the bad luck to live in a historical period, where you had to choose a faction .You were obliged to line up.He was always a staunch republican, but he lined up with Cesar's faction or triumviri's faction in certain cases because of his weak nature easily persuadable with blackmalls and threats. We can't blame him for his weak nature. Not every men are so brave to say no to a tyrant and Cicero was one of these men.

Another great orator is the Athenian Demosthenes (384-322 BC).

My uncle was in the Italian senate. It's bizarre to think how long his occupation has been around, and how influential it once was.

You forgot nailing his hands to the senate door. Although, he was Anthony's biggest and most vocal opponent.

Historical Cicero was a staunch anti-democrat, a demagogue and a bragging hypocrite. The most contemptible scoundrel in history.

@RV56 And savior of the Roman Republic, who was it that exposed the Catiline Conspiracy?
yankeefan122522 1 year ago
@yankeefan122522 There was no Catiline Conspiracy. Cicero pretty much made it up.

@RV56 What works from modern scholarship and ancient works do you cite for this claim?
wprueter 1 year ago
@wprueter Well, take Michael Parenti's "The Assassination of Julius Ceasar".
