  • Right, I know the Hawkwinds from young and old. Aware Dave is pissing himself at the back (his band, do what he wants) but this is a fucking beauty, come, punks, metal, skins, and cunts, come and come, Come

  • Absolutely brilliant!!

  • shame you miss off the end :(

  • @ricspeed1971 I uploaded it as a separate part - check suggested videos for Elric The Enchanter (Part 2) ;)

  • Ah, Huw Lloyd-Langton.

    Hugely underated guitarist.

  • huw lloyd' best guitar solo ever' from sutton bridge boy lincolnshire

  • feckin love hawkwind well done on postin the vid top marks that man !!! :)

  • They need release a version of the Album with all the songs that were played during the live show.

  • Alan Davey. Lol, I played with his previous band, (Or new band, depending on how you look at it) Gunslinger.

  • @snakespence Gunslinger are awesome.., Alan Davey is a brilliant bass player (2nd only to God (Lemmy) himself your a lucky guy to have played with them :)

  • I love this song........love the sound its brilliant.......

  • The Edinburgh gig of this tour is STILL the best rock concert i`ve ever seen ! And i`ve seen a lot of bands ! Totally EPIC ! Peace Ye`all !

  • One of the best from Huw Lloyd Langton. Heard this in 1985 and have been looking for it ever since. Love his guitar sound

  • @skywatcher0101

I have played Huw's Gibson Howard Roberts guitar (the same one featured in this video). It plays like silk. I was even stupid enough to offer him my ES335 for it as a swap but Huw told me to fuck off! LOL

  • @unclefekker8 haha, worth a shot!

  • two great voices Huw Lloyd & Alan Davey, love this song. Not sure if any other band has devoted so many songs to a series of books?

  • Remember seeing them on this tour at Leeds Uni, then at Reading festival when they headlined. Stunning. If you watch closely you can tell that Alan Davey's bass playing has been overdubbed. Too many notes & not enough movement on his left hand.

  • i still cant get enough of this song >> repeat >> repeat >.> repeat >> :o)

  • thank god for hawkwind j tull yes genesis rush floyd ground hogs etc give me a lp cover anytime over downloads glad i was a kid in the 70s todays bands talentless tossers

  • I saw him in Walthamstow more than one time. Infact more than 5 times. The man is gent. Look up Huw Lloyd Langton Band.

  • It was on Studio Album. Long time ago

  • Think it was on Live Chronicles. Not a studio album, but an album nonetheless.

  • the guitar work on this track is soooo good, probs one of my fave tracks off Chronicles Of The Black Sword, its soo amazing, this is the album i remember most growin up as a kid, my dad had it on all the time when i was young, i dont think theres a band of this genre that can beat Hawkwind, everything theyve done is good and it sounds amazing when your off your box on shrooms, i reccomend liberty caps to everyone, just wait till about end of september (in england) and youll start seein em about!

  • @englishnbloodyproudo lol i meant to say live chronicles, i love that album!!!

  • One of my favourite songs ever.... so underated.

  • Huw Lloyd-Langton & Dave Brock... Fantastic combination!

  • This album's version of both this and "Dragons and Fables" -- MODERN MUSICAL ART!

  • I could not live without Hawkwind music. Funny - my 8 year old daughter came down while I was watching this video and tells me she knows "Motorway City" and "Silver Machine" and that Moonglum is her favorite....excellent....more added to to spaceship Hawkwind.

  • There is something "Real" about Hawkwind that none of the other British "hippy" bands ever came close to achieving.

  • ive been and looked and i still find nothing better than hawkwind

  • Oh, great to see this. Huw's one of my favorite guitarists.

  • Moonglum and Elric hunting Thelebk'aarna,

    Myshella now replacing Queen Yishana,

see them travel through the open sky,

see the amazing steel bird fly.

GET WELL SOON HUW WE LOVE YOU!

  • Blimey. I always thought it was "See the amazing slip of light!" LOL

  • NOT BEING ON STUDIO ALBUM.....WHY

  • @tacsmoker Apparently the band were rushed through the studio and weren't able to record as much as they would've liked.

  • typical this band has had to work in shit conditions for years.guess thats what makes them such diehards....thanks for comment

  • Huey once complained to me Dave Brock didn't like it.

  • It's on the second disc of Chronicles of the Black Sword ;-))

  • MAGIK

  • Huw Loyd Langton was born in Harlesden, north west london

  • where is huw loyd langton from ?? someone tell me please his accent sounds different

  • He grew up in London, but his parents are from Wales.

  • @WeHaveExplosive - He's Welsh and always has been don't try and steal him with that grew up in London crap.

  • @milander007 I'm Welsh myself so I'm not "stealing" him, and Huw himself states that he was born in London and grew up in Harlesden.

  • @milander007 He actually did grow up in London.. he was born there.. but he is Welsh in my eyes ;)

  • *****takes me home ;)

  • cracking track huw loyd langton was the donkeys bollocks !

  • I remember seeing Hawkwind with Huw a dozen or more times in the 80's, and Moonglum was, for me, always the highlight of the gig. Can't fathom why it never made the Chronicles... lp. Excellent guitar solos by Huw - along with Adrian Smith, the best rock/metal guitarists the UK ever produced.

  • To me the mood makes moonglum the best hawkwind song: it's feels tragic, yet spurs of hope and glory... It's a song that gives one new energy whenever one is a bit down... yet respecting the mood without neglecting, i.e. it feels 'real', like the song understands one soul... Hard to explain, but worth a try...

The golden void is another epic song of them... so great...

  • omg well explained that was a tuff one.... that song says pretty much the same for me, but belts me heart with visions of my past also.......

  • Lucky you. By the time the band toured the States again, Huw had already jumped ship again. He's one of my favorite guitarists, and one of the things I first liked in Hawkwind, as Xenon Codex was my first Hawkwind album. It's always bugged me they couldn't work out a US tour or even a few dates here while Huw was in the band! :(

  • nice one huey

  • A great live show that just didn't get filmed well sadly. I loved this tour and enjoyed the gig almost as much as Atomhenge 77. I saw this at oxford from the god's.

  • i'm sure this was a great concert, unfortunately you can't see shit

  • I saw this show at Oxford from the gods and its pretty darn good. The DVD is a great waste of time becuse as you say you can't see Shit....shame.

  • huw at his best this one. brilliant.

  • Agreed Huw was great.I was at this gig at the Hammersmith odeon.A mind blowing night out!The tube ride home after was a strange one indeed!

  • Love the lyrics on this one... brilliant composition!

  • The Edinburgh Playhouse show of this tour was the best concert by any band i have ever been to!Bar None!

  • great forgotten song

  • @smokepistols - not forgotten! :)
