  • Good old western world... the police of the world. Right.

  • It's sad that this excellent report only has under 7,500 views

  • the war in vietnam was for geographical reasons, opium, oil in vietnam and southern china sea, huge mineral resources, extremly valuable woods and plants for medicines, but the usa couldnt win so they destroyed it all, cambodia was a way to destroy even more what the usa couldnt get, this shos the true face of the usa... they are doing the same now in irak afg. and lybia, middle east

  • Here's hoping WikiLeaks can aid in shedding light on these such matters for the masses to learn what their governments are really up to behind the scenes. The controlled mass media need an enema. People like Pilger are absolute saints in my eyes. God bless and protect truthful journalists of his ilk.

  • Thank you for posting this video. It is very informative and gives me a better idea about what was going on to Cambodia and its innocent people after Vietnam had disposed the Pol pot's regime. Once again, it is about how the international super power countries playing their political games at the cost of those unfortunate countries' innocent people. John Pilger did a great job in this documentary report.

  • I interviewed a former SAS soldier who admitted being in Malaysia in a camp where there were Khmer Rouge troops but would not admit to training them. I guess its because he would face a jail term for breaching the official secrets act.

  • i'm not sure if i just missed it but did he at any time say why all this was happening? i mean, whar was the US, china, Britain getting out of supporting the Khmer Rouge? Why we they doing it? And why wouldn't the UN allow Cambodia to join them? Why did the whole world support the muders and suffering of innocent, defenceness people? What were they all getting out of it?

  • @Lucas11B They are doing all that because the Vietnamese were responsible for ousting the genocidal Khmer Rouge out of Cambodia and the West need to oppose Vitenamese influence at all cost... Even if it means arming the Khmer Rouge against the ppl again and starving the ppl to oblivion because the Vietnamese were responsible of helping them and they would rather contract with the devil himself if he would be willing to fight Vietnamese influence.

  • @fortunad

You must see the khmer rouge genocide in the contexte of Vietnam war. We were in the cool war. USA helped one side, and China (and URSS) helped an other side. Vietnameses are not responsible about khmer rouge genocide, the real responsible were chineses (maoist); but Khmers were at first. You must learn the history of Vietnam war by checking out the following document (Dien Bien Phu, The Legacy 1/4).

  • Easily put is the world leaders are in a status of de-populating the world. Us Khmer people just became a guinea pig of their project. They supported the Khmer Rogue because they want us to kill each other, than blame it on the obvious communist. And America knows nothing about it. Iraq is slowly turning into another Cambodia. Thanks A lot America.

  • The war in Viet Nam was to protect the opium connections with Europe and the U.S. The "Illuminati",(now known as the "New World Order") has funded BOTH SIDES in wars for hundreds of years. Why? To keep the gold flowing for arms and to keep confusion and killing reigning on earth to HIDE their complicity in drug- dealing, arms sales and most important: GENOCIDE. When they arrange for a nation like Cambodia to be virtually ABANDONED by the rest of the world, the KILLING can continue.
  • ok. so its all about the issue of a comprehensive government. the west was supporting both groups. the cam government and the khmer rouge. A difficult situation. The khmer rouge would have terrorized the population so the west tried to coopt them. but why stengthen them with arms deals at that time? Wierd stuff.

  • Still don't get it. A: When did US support for Khmer Rouge begin? and B: Why did it continue? Why was Pol Pot being supported? For which reason? Why? Who was in charge in Cam in the eighties and why were they being embargoed? Don't get it.

  • @fruitsofnews

The US and other Western countries supported Pol Pot because he was anti-Vietnamese. He briefly invaded some parts of Vietnam, to which the Vietnamese responded by overthrowing him in a large-scale invasion of Cambodia. Vietnam was at that time the "Iran" of southeast Asia. A true opponent of Western interests in southeast Asia. And the Neo-Con American leadership also wanted revenge for their bitter humiliation in the Vietnam war in 1975.

  • @fruitsofnews The post "About the Khmer Rouge Genocide 1/37" and the 2 previous Cambodia reports of Pilger help understand the situation better.

Basically, the Vietnamese stemmed the Khmer Rouge genocide by invading Cambodia and chasing them out. By doing so, the Vietnamese established their own influence in Cambodia and the West would rather provide firewood to the devil than allow for Vietnamese influence, even if it means letting the ppl rot and forcing their executioners' hold on them again

  • good jobs america and the western world keeps having blood on there hands

  • If you want to know how or what government is like all you have to do is view it's history. What was done then will be done today? Their methods don't change although the victims do because they are killed off and a new scapegoat is sought out. The news is distorted for a time but as the players change due to regime change or just die off the truth begins to seep out by then the news is history and a new front with an entirely new group is at work killing the innocent. Plauseable denialability.

  • This is one of the reasons Diana's life became on borrowed time. She supported the de mining of Cambodia and understood they were British made mines that were used there.

  • i spent 2 months in cambodia in 2006 and things are far from perfect, but the people are so welcoming and kind. they have the will to overcome, all they need and deserve is the help of the western world. god speed.

  • the ritual of war business continue. different country, different excuses, the horrors of war are the same and the concept of engaging a war never change. it is not losing or winning a war but to engaged in arms conflict and again, to accelerate the sales and profit of weaponry by the industrialist nations. the war story goes on so as the arms sales profit must also go on.

  • Thanks for posting the report. Even though it's old it has not lost anything of its outrageous effect. Shame on the UN, the western world and China alike for providing help to the Khmer rouge, these murderous bastards. I hope there will be a brighter future for the people in Cambodia.

  • thx u sir! as i am a cambodian ! i really appreciated ur thought...i know ashamed on UN, and western world and china ....
