Tsonga plays without warning he doesnt care what happens he goes for it thats why so many people love watching him play , i bet he loves playing Rafa because the topsping rafa produces lets Tsonga gert up and smash the ball , i personally think his a great player and have respect for him i used to hate him when he beat Roger at wimbledon but his a very respectable guy :)
Hey no one should hate nadal, only if he wins vs federer but common i also like federer more but wouldnt it be sad if nadal would end his career, i personally would miss him
@sithie1006 Really cause I've never found another video that puts it that way and also from the same guy that uploaded this video when he put the semifinals of the 2008 Australian Open he titled it "Federer Vs Djokovic -- Australian Open 2008 Highlights (HD)" so that's even more of a reason for me to believe otherwise.
@steelermia What your point? Tsonga just beat him again in Queens a few weeks ago....in fact, either winner of the Djokovic/Tsonga semi at Wimby this year would have emasculated Nadal. Just happened to be his daddy that did it (Nole).
@kmccary before 2011, nadal had won 16 of 23 matches vs djokovic and had won 10 grand slams .. so he was djokovic's and everyone else's 'daddy' .. djokovic has picked up steam this year .. now it's 16-12 .. remains to be seen how nadal will react but you can't negate his accomplishments .. djokovic has only 3 slams at this point .. he's still way behind .. you can't just ignore that .. djokovic has exploded this first half of the year .. let's see what he does for the next 2-3 yrs
@kmccary .. yep and before that djokovic was whiffing plenty of nadal forehands .. in fact he was whiffing so many of them that nadal had a 16-7 record against him .. he dominated djokovic for a long time .. nadal = 10 slams djokovic = measily 3 .. it's not even close .. you're making yourself look stupid but keep trying it's fun to watch
@steelermia Yawn..."but back then..." and "before that" means ancient history. As for THIS YEAR 2011....Rafael Nadal is 0-5 vs. Novak Djokovic. Since you're mentally challenged that means he hasn't beaten him in 5 TRIES. That's domination. This year. BTW, while you typed your last message Nadal failed to hold serve against Nole again.
@kmccary apparently you're the one with some mental retardation acting as if nadal is some chump .. 16-7 is domination as well .. 10 slams to 3 slams is domination is well .. what else do you have ? .. as much as you want to, you can't discount that sorry .. nadal's been on a tear for a long time now .. he's had a bad first half of the year while still knocking off a french open .. you're getting all hard over half a year .. relax .. come back when djokovic is still on this 'run' after 2-3 yrs
@kmccary if he keeps this up for 2-3 yrs I will gladly give him his credit .. I give him credit now.. he's a good guy .. I have no problem with him .. he's doing well right now and that's great for him .. but it's only half a season .. what if he tanks or goes average the next 2-3 yrs .. wtf are you going to say then ? smh .. and it's pretty stupid on your part to be trashing a 10 time grand slam champion
@kmccary and it's funny how you make fun of his 'style' .. wtf ? the guy has 10 grand slams .. if you're trashing him .. then I can't imagine what kind of shit you say about lesser players on the tour
@kmccary and you say .. the fact is players like tsonga aren't scared anymore blah blah .. tsonga really ? lol .. with that comment it's obvious what your agenda is .. tsonga is a speck of dirt on nadal's shoe .. get some perspective
@ghlover2001 in 2010 nadal had no competition i'm afraid.. he beat Soderling, Berdych and Djokovic(Djokovic wasn't 1/2 as good then as he is now.. ) Don't you think Djokovic of 2011 is better than Nadal of 2010 ?
@TheFedererNadallover i can't really say b/c i don't think djokovic's game is drastically different from 2010. his main improvement, besides his serve, is his confidence. nadal's game hasn't declined either. his serve has actually gotten better. his main problem against djokovic is his LACK of confidence (watch the matches between them again if u disagree), so it's really hard to say. to answer that question properly, i'd need nadal of the 2010 USO to play djokovic right now to know for sure.
@ghlover2001 continued...the only person who can beat nadal at this point is djoko, right? ferrer did it at the AO, but nadal was clearly hurt. i mean, seriously...when was the last time rafa lost like that at a GS? davydenko has always had nadal's #, so i won't even count him. everyone else? he's miles ahead of them. he WAS miles ahead of novak, but something changed.
djoko isn't beating rafa b/c he's all of a sudden added 10 or even 5 bags of new/improved tricks to his game. it's confidence.
The best match I have ever seen in tennis...I wish he could do this time and time again, but the gods were in his corner that day, but these days perhaps he has put on too much weight, not fit enough, he can't bring the same tennis again.
Great to see this, I think this is the kind of match Federer would have given Nadal had they met on hard courts more often 2004-2007. Similar demolition to the TMC matches '06 '07 Fed v Nadal.
Tsonga you beast, but where are you now? I noticed he changed his racquet from wilson to babolat?
Also, you can see how much Nadal has improved since then. Nadal of today would not let Tsonga push him around like that, cuz even tho Nadal plays safe, he still manages to paints the lines whilst hes at it
Nadal- the most overrated player of all time - great on clay, but rubbish on any other surface (including grass, even though he won Wimbledon). Just remember- Bjorn Borg (with a wooden racket) won 6 French & 5 Wimbledons. Nadal won't do that. He's got no natural talent at tennis, just good on clay, can't volley or hit overheads. McEnroe beat Nadal in an exhibition last year. Man in his 50s beat Nadal - just shows how rubbish Rafa really is !!
@Jlt2006out this probably has to be the poorest comment I've ever read....So when Sampras beat Federer in an Exhibition a few years ago...is that cause Federer is rubbish too? No...its cause its an Exhibition...and Nadal has 2 hardcourt titles as well...explain those if he sucks so bad...oh yea why is he #1 in the world? oh yea thats because he is rubbish right? Give credit where credit is due...he works as hard as he possibly can..I hope he wins wimbledon this year in spite of you...geez man...
I never get tired of watching these highlights... the most impressive performance of Tsonga EVER! Booming serve, power and precision from the baseline, at times unreal touch at the net! One of the most entertaining matches I've ever watched!
i'm not a fan of nadal at all, but he on really lost this match because for once, he actually got nervous and stopped believing in himself. it's hard to believe that can happen to nadal, but it did. mainly because tsonga started playing some impossible shots, especially at the net, and also because he started playing too defensive, leaving most of his balls in the middle of the court where tsonga could pounce. obviously nadal never lost to him after this, as much as i wish he would
Man... so many times commentators have spoken about how tsonga could be a top 3 player if he had the mental strength. I guess this shows it. Sometimes I forget how much the head can get in the way, especially when I'm watching a match on tv
This was one of the best performances I've ever seen. Tsonga absolutely dismantled Nadal.... NADAL!!! PEOPLE!!! He sure got a taste of his own medicine, chasing fur around all night.
4:19 nadal falls, racket completely comes out of his hand spins around on the ground, but he still manages to pick it up and almost get to the drop shot. incredible.
poor nadal, once a bragger, always a bragger, this time Tsonga made him pee in his shorts, al least this time hi didn`t claim to have pain on his knee or back hahha
he looks so humble when he goes to shake nadal's hand, as if he's about to shake prince william's hand or something. whether good or bad, this remains his best match to date
I dont care about this match and I respect Tsonga for beating him, I just said Nadal beat him after so people dont think that he's too much better than him
And I'm not pissed off lmao and I sure as hell don't cry when someone loses you asshole
Tsonga is a physically strong and tall guy. Nadal's top spin forehand gave a huge bounce in the air and allow tsonga to take it on the rise and beat it off with huge pace, causing Nadal's forehand gain no advantage. Of course Tsonga's freak dropshots did become the spotlight of the match!LOL
tsonga would have taken the aussie open title with ease if he brought this annihilating form against djokovic in the final. i don't think anyone could beat tsonga when he plays like this on this surface.
Yes, this is "possibly the greatest player in tennis history" getting absolutely blown off the court by an unseeded Tsonga. Watching Rafa get absolutely anniliated by a guy who had at that time never done a thing makes me wonder if Sampras, Laver and Borg are secretly howling when they hear the ESPN wags like Brad Gilbert talk up Rafa as the greatest after his first - and perhaps only - US Open.
@misterlonely1446 i don't hate that about him but i agree that sort of showboating is unnecessary and probably a big reason he lost this match so handily
Isn't it weird that he is the one who faces guy's playing the matches of their lives like vs Gonzalez in Australia 2007 or Tsonga here? Must be something in it.
@mcortezzzzzzz i disagree, he's a very humble guy, when he does small drop shot, which caught the opponent offguard you notice he apologize with a hand signal. He's definitely not displaying any cockiness in this match but if he does in others, i guess its pride of being such an excellent player.
@mcortezzzzzzz i disagree, he's a very humble guy, when he does small drop shot, which caught the opponent offguard you notice he apologize with a hand signal ( well not always, there was a particular one @ 6:30 which i notice and caught my attention). He's definitely not displaying any cockiness in this match but if he does in others, i guess its pride of being such an excellent player.
Dave -right on, It's so funny that in all this time [its 6/30/10], I have not seen a better single tennis performance by any one person than this totally stratospheric domination of Nadal by Tsonga. Truly THE Best match ever played by anyone I have ever seen!
I am a Nadal fan, i did feel bad when i saw this match. Nadal was really helpless but he fought every point and never gave up.Tsonga had some ridiculous volleys. Looking back now, its amazing how Nadal worked on improving his tennis and came back to win 2009 Aussie open, where as Tsonga has not made any finals since then. This game was Tsonga best and it was all downhill from there
Quand au bourrinage: tu l'as pas vu jouer depuis 2 ans 1/2, no?
@fire1202 If you wanna watch this again search for AO 2010 Murray Nadal, watch the three parts, this time was massacred by murray .... poor nadal, once a bragger, always a bragger, in this particular match Tsonga made him pee in his shorts, al least this time hi didn`t claim to have pain on his knee or back hahha

This was one of the best performances I've ever seen. Tsonga absolutely dismantled Nadal.... NADAL!!! PEOPLE!!! He sure got a taste of his own medicine, chasing fur around all night.

thumbs up if u were wondering where part 2/2 was cause just 9:43 of that brilliance is not enough!

Tennis needs Tsonga.

4:19 nadal falls, racket completely comes out of his hand spins around on the ground, but he still manages to pick it up and almost get to the drop shot. incredible.

he looks so humble when he goes to shake nadal's hand, as if he's about to shake prince william's hand or something. whether good or bad, this remains his best match to date
turbofish95 1 year ago
either Tsonga played like the gods or Rafa had a serious slump

My dream: Tsonga to win the Australian Open some day (or I guess any grand slam would do :D). He really does deserve it in my eyes.
PS. fuck off federerbestclass -- only saying that because nadal got massacred; the only player who you hate dearly. clown.

Erm Nadal destroyed Tsonga in their next meeting and Tsonga's rank is already starting to sink, he'll be lucky to win atleast a masters tournaments

omg can a human being possibly expect to volley any better than that? Goodness gracious.
bhallic24 1 year ago
Tsonga is a physically strong and tall guy. Nadal's top spin forehand gave a huge bounce in the air and allow tsonga to take it on the rise and beat it off with huge pace, causing Nadal's forehand gain no advantage. Of course Tsonga's freak dropshots did become the spotlight of the match!LOL
lokitkit 1 year ago
tsonga would have taken the aussie open title with ease if he brought this annihilating form against djokovic in the final. i don't think anyone could beat tsonga when he plays like this on this surface.
BrotherTree1 1 year ago
these drop volleys are hilarious and they're driving nadal insane...love it!
Boomshaka7 1 year ago
agree unstoppable on the night but where is the consistency? after all this is what pros all about...
artrook 1 year ago
Yes, this is "possibly the greatest player in tennis history" getting absolutely blown off the court by an unseeded Tsonga. Watching Rafa get absolutely anniliated by a guy who had at that time never done a thing makes me wonder if Sampras, Laver and Borg are secretly howling when they hear the ESPN wags like Brad Gilbert talk up Rafa as the greatest after his first - and perhaps only - US Open.

misterlonely1446 1 year ago 3
@misterlonely1446 i don't hate that about him but i agree that sort of showboating is unnecessary and probably a big reason he lost this match so handily
Vakcube 1 year ago
@Vakcube agreed. and it's also like, "dude, calm down. this is like the first point you've won in a while, no need to celebrate"
misterlonely1446 1 year ago
Isn't it weird that he is the one who faces guy's playing the matches of their lives like vs Gonzalez in Australia 2007 or Tsonga here? Must be something in it.

@mcortezzzzzzz i disagree, he's a very humble guy, when he does small drop shot, which caught the opponent offguard you notice he apologize with a hand signal. He's definitely not displaying any cockiness in this match but if he does in others, i guess its pride of being such an excellent player.

ManiPulatoR84 1 year ago
MalaikaNina 1 year ago
Quand au bourrinage: tu l'as pas vu jouer depuis 2 ans 1/2, no?
Même JMac adore ses volleys: THAT is priceless.
20098104 1 year ago
@20098104
MalaikaNina 1 year ago
20098104 1 year ago
MalaikaNina 1 year ago
