I always used Cortex on Crash Team Racing. He wasn't the fastest, but was well balanced for tracks with corners and jumps. That's why I only lost one race in like 4 years of competing against every other kid in my neighborhood LOL - on Coco Park... Lost like 2 battles out of probably over 500. (Yes, playing CTR was ALL I WANTED TO DO back then haha). I actually used to stay up late with a cola the night before everyone came over, practicing what I was going to do to them... Good times...

Both designs are fine, but just because he started out as a square mask, that doesn't mean a more face-like look is bad. And the best parts of his design, the colors and feathers, have been kept. I grew up with the ND games. I HAVE experience. I just don't whine about every little change that crosses my path. Unlike you, I play games to ENJOY them. Not to bitch about "ruining" a formula.

But NaughtyDog moved on to make different games. If we'd keep Crash simplistic for so much longer, he'd be another Mario. And one Mario is bad enough.

Plus, keep in mind that Crash didn't immidiately die after ND left. There were still other companies that did well with him, like Traveller's Tales, Eurocom, Vicarious Visions etc.

I like new Crash. I can't say I've had that much fun with Twinsanity.

@TGS Crash was never violent, even now he fights, but it was never violent. MOM's cutscenes were the worst of any Crash game and possibly of most games in general. BUT, that does NOT reflect the gameplay. The gameplay has some side parts to regular gameplay. It has great combat & adds exotic collectibles. Some things like Crystals & Gems should come back and made into gameplay items, and Nitros should return. But nothing is really bad about the new games. Too many jokes, but the games are good.

Dr. Cortex is an extremely well thought up character, he's by far the most complex character I've seen in video games. He's not simply 2D and easy to understand, he has his differing thoughts and he's hard to get a read off. Great job Naughty Dog, and somewhat of a good job Sierra!
