  • I believe this is one of the greatest songs of all time.

  • this is the funnest styx song ever on drums.

  • This is a legendary song in my opinion

  • 13 people have no tickets to the show!

  • I remember this concert, They had everything meticulously choreographed and played the album songs in order the way they were on the album.

The guitar is just sick on this and many songs TS is an amazing Artist as they all are.

  • Hello Wisconsin!

  • omg totaly

  • Styx Rocks!!!

  • To Mr. Shaw could you please crush my brain with a mind numbing lead please? To Mr. A: Please see 1:52

  • @Aforgomon1 My brain is pleased with this guitar sound =]

  • ahh, man, theee ole startin to smoke weeed days, yeeee

  • a wonderful band ! a wonderful album ~

  • Beautiful!

  • great shit

  • 13 people never win the game

  • I don't even care that I lose "the game" every time I listen to this song! T_T

  • Muchas Gracias StyxFan93. Desde Mexico D.F.

  • Eric Forman: "I prefer a more lush, orchestral sound to my music".

  • styx was the prelude to rush definitly

  • saw them live back in like o6 or 07 with def leppard and reo and they were amazing!!! the styx took the whole show and they opened!

  • This is one of the best albums of the 70's

  • saw them live a few days ago with REO speedwagon in Salt Lake. I was very impressed with their live perfomance. Truly amazing.

  • Fantastic Lyric very meaningful

  • Deep inside we're all the same! (same) ((same)) (((same)))

  • @ShutlOrbit :D if only dennis deyoung kept playing

  • Man I have to say, STYX is such an awesome Classic band. Dennis DeYoung, Man what a great voice. Thank you STYX for rocking out while I was growing up! Oh yea and before I forget, 4 people truely suck and have no clue as to what great rock n roll is.

  • my favorite album for sure :)

  • I lose "the game" every time I listen to this song, but ya know what? That's OK. :D

  • "Quote from the song."

  • Hey old guys, do you remember when this album broke out? We knew Styx just a little from "Lady" and maybe "Crystal Ball" and then here comes this MONSTER album with so much music and depth. I'll never forget being mesmorized listening to this album for the first time.

  • Without Dennis DeYoung there is no Styx. What is out there today calling themselves Styx, is just a bunch of has beens missing their glory days, not realizing it was DDY that made their glory possible.

  • @LibertatisExTyrannis

Styx would have faded away had Tommy Shaw not joined, its cool to have 2 if not 3 talented songwriters Dennis was mostly cheese songs but he had a few really good ones .

  • I cant stop imagining Eric singing along.

  • good song i found it out by that 70's show so yea good song great idea to put it on and yea

  • Styx is not the same w/o DDY. Eventually TS & JY have to bring him back.

  • @bucky468 he left by choice for bigger things.. meaning damn yankees.. like i love them.. but he really should go back :P styx is kinda WAY bigger XP

  • @LuigieatsBabies Dennis was NOT in Damn Yankees. Tommy was. Tommy quit Styx right after Kiulroy Was Here & Dennis invited him back in 1994. Then Tommy had to screw it up & kick Dennis outta Styx. Styx is ok but would be so much better if Tommy & JY would find a way to patch things up w/DDY. I agree to an extent w/LibertatisExTyrannis & what he said. W/o DDY there is no Styx. W/o the Panozza (not sure if I spelled it right - RIP John) there's no Styx either. But DDY, JY & Tommy are Styx.

  • @bucky468 k, well sry for getting my facts wrong im 15 and idc about facts.. im only here for the music

  • @LuigieatsBabies If you dont care about facts you shouldnt pretend like you know them.

  • @manofgod30 Agreed. Two of the best songs on the album for sure!

  • GOD I LOVE THIS SONG! that guitar lead wails! I used to trip out to this vinyl lying on the floor. without LSD. the lyrics STILL ring true! awesome. finally going to see these space monkeys in 10 days. with YES !

  • what better way to give justice to this song is to crank up the volume of your speakers!

  • Like if you see Eric singing the beginning.

  • I saw them live at Sweden rock festival 2011, they were so fucking AWSOME!!! :D

  • the 4 people that disliked are NOT the same

  • 4 people are in a grand illusion...

  • superb song.....like no other....!

  • I lost "The Game" at 1:30

  • @Jahkota 0_0 mfw

  • This is an awesome song by Styx. Saw them 10 years ago at Junefest!!! What a show!!!

You had Styx, Molly Hatchet, Bad Company, Night Ranger, Billy Squire and Journey on one stage!!!

  • @1962drob Gotta love how you can them at such a discount when they get old like that, huh?

  • That 70's Show!

  • @TheGreeneyes777

I hear ya there. I would say you you did much more potent L S D than I did. I am 29 but I must agree with the entirety of your statement.

  • We all live in a society of labels and class. We want to be on the top because of a terrible norm. But we forget that we need to live our own lives. Not the one somebody has told us to. I support this philosophy.

  • @TheLeetCasualGamer i support my foot in your ass

  • @crackercreo I support my dick in your eye

  • @IwannaTouchThis he did a that 70's show reference. prob so he could get thumbs or some gay shit.

  • @TheLeetCasualGamer just be happy we are not north korea buddy.

  • @TheLeetCasualGamer shoot i accidentally disliked your comment!! Sorry!

  • 2 people forgot that it was a grand illusion!

  • Great song but thinking we're all the same inside is a grand illusion!!

  • Anatomically we are all the same inside, that is what makes us human.

  • @Kickasskaratemaster Some people have hearts, some don't.

  • @RickOFtheJames Exactly!! That's all I'm saying. I know we're all the same inside antomically.

  • @Mrsteviej1 nigga pleez

  • I do believe this played at least once during every high school dance in 1980 and 1981! Luv it. Classic Styx !

  • Amazing so relativity to today!

  • theres only one person who would dislike this song...

    justin beiber.

  • @bamfman88482405 WOW! I thought, Justin Bieber would never been mentioned in a Styx vid comment, I mean really. And There he is mentioned. Why does he have to be in EVERYTHING! :O

Lol and yes he would dislike this song.

  • @bamfman88482405 BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • How can anyone NOT like this song?

  • One retard doesn't like this!!

  • @scottlarue33 haahhah I laughed reading that.

  • With all that is happening with celebrities today, particularly younger ones, the message in this song is more relevant than it was back then.

  • All of reality is an illusion that exists inside our own head. All that is out there is vibrational frequencies which are interpreted by our brain and turned into the sound we hear, colours we recognize and the three dimensional shapes we see. In essence it is all a grand illusion.

  • @Freax84 No, that would mean reality is subjective, which it is not. The universe would exist if you didnt. Our brains perceive, possibly differently, what actually exists.

  • @coolliger I dont believe reality is completely subjective, but have you heard of Quantum Immortality? A researcher puts a gun to his head, and by some mechanism he has a 50/50 chance when he pulls the trigger that he will die. When this happens there can be atleast 2 versions, one where he lives and one where he dies, and running the scenario over and over there will always be 1 copy of him alive. This copy will seem to never die. He can only consciously observe the outcome in which he lives.

  • The 1 disliker got fooled by the radio... The TV, and the magazines.

  • I'm from Canada, and I had no idea this band was still doing concerts!

  • im going to a styx concert this saturday performing this album

  • Best Styx album The Grand ILLUSION!

  • WOOOOOOOO I FEEEEEEEEL LIKE DANCING AND TOUCHING THE STARS!!!!!!

  • @wastedyouth1109 acid destroys brain cells so be careful

  • @ImtheScatManJJ ha lol

  • It sounds like a hybrid of Queen and early Genesis, but at least its not Mr Roboto.

  • @sandro28grizz and what is wrong with Mr. Roboto? that song is the epitome of coolness achieved in song!!!

  • Great

Thank you very much for posting

  • This world is set as a grand illusion

  • I've seen Styx without Dennis and they are still excellent. As long as JY and Shaw are there the vocals still are the best, and besides it's Deyoungs choice not to be there.

  • Incorrect. Dennis has wanted to be in the band. The band is not interested...

  • why doesn't the band want dennis back? too many ballads?

  • @msh1951

More likely "Artistic Differences". Dennis always seemed to want the group to be operatic with it being about him. I like Styx much better without him. Don't get me wrong, he is a big part of why the band was so good, but IMHO he got a bit of an ego thing going.

  • @troldahl Dennis was apart of the band, he had some energy around him that got the crowd going. it's more of a disapointment since he left, hell it's not styx without him,

  • @troldahl Creative differences. (: lol, either one works. haha

  • I remember driving down Hollywood Blvd., stoned and on my way to Guitar Center when the radio DJ announced "we have a brand new song by Styx, here it goes......I immediatly headed to the record store and bought it. One of the best records of all time.

  • LOL. Good story...

  • great song. even greater band. i went to their '09 concert tour w reo speedwagon and night ranger and styx BEASTED!

  • I'm totally gonna grow my hair out like tommy Shaw

  • @Pryysmite Haha you're gonna look like the dutch boy !!!

  • Lmao how old are you? Who wants to see Styx with Dennis Deyoung gone? The Who is gonna blow this place away without Pete, right? Great song.

  • Styx is loved in Alaska! My hubby and I loved the show. He is older and I told him that I want to see Styx! Better than jewelry in the world!

  • Sytx in their prime. Probably my favorite Styx song or close to it.

  • Try the song renagade by Styx. If you haven't heard it yet, its great too.

  • @HenryWinehard i saw them in concert last night and it appears they have held on to their prime cuz they are beyond great.

  • lol

  • This song reaches right into my soul. As I grew up, my values were forged by the songs of Styx. Thelive forever!

  • When I saw them, they opened with this-they were fantastic!

  • kinda creepy dude...

  • This was my first Styx album. Man, does this take me back!

You know, to this very day I still believe this was their best one...Equinox was a close 2nd.

    After Aku-Aku I lost interest.

  • Love this song!

  • Brings back some nice memories... This song is a CLASSIC.

  • i am 52 ,and they were right it is a grand illusion, still love it after 30 years
