actually eating bread is the best. Bread is an absorbant of fluids, taking all the juices out of your mouth to stop the burning. Milk or water may take away some of the pain, but as most would know the taste is still there even after chugging milk or water

Make sure you try again... They grow habaneros in the US (Texas) that are engineered to be mild. The real ones come from outside the US. It is said that they can burn your skin, and eat the lining of your stomach. You'd know if you had a real one. Light the inside of your mouth, throat, chest, and stomach on fire, and leave it for an hour... That's a real habanero.
