Most E36 owners install a Signature Motoring performance intake kit for around 9HP gain. Cost is a mere $150 or so, best value per HP gain in the E36 line.
Install time if only about 30-45 minutes in most applications. I have one in my 94 325i cabrio.

I love my E36 328i. Only mod is a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. They run around $170 and add up to 9HP in the E46 323/325/328 and up to 9.4HP in the 328i. That's about $17/per extra HP... A good value for the extra oomph. General HP increases are shown:
E30 series: 6.0-13.4hp gain
E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain
E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain
E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain
Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain

i saw this car in germany a few times, aktualy heared it, untill saw, and yes, you have to hear and feel (the whole ground is shaking) it... absoludly brillant!!!

this car gives me wood lol, the car sticks to the track like it is on rails and you can just hear the power. would be nice to see the car perform in nascar, i bet it would do very very well...

But man i must admit this engine is sick... I would like to make a ride in this... that would be awesome, you heard me George ???!!!??? I already see a used Judd engine for sale... 35k usd : ( and spare pieces cost ?

@SuperChillaz You do know that nascar engines are either rebuilt or swapped with another engine after each race right? Thats how it is with almost every racing like that.
