The Black hole will reopen next year (2012)with a new ride.This will be put back till 2014 if the plans for SW7 due to open in 2013 have any problems.

But I don't get it! Blackpool Pleasure Beach manage to keep Space Invader 2 going, so I think Alton towers shouldn't have got rid of it! I never got to ride it but my mum did and she said it was almost as good as space invader! I love Space Invader!!!!

I only rode it once and I loved it. I also liked the fact that you really didn't know what you were waiting for and I was younge so I got a bit scared. The actual reason they took it down according to Alton was that it couldn't take round many people per hour and that is the reason why the que was so long. I don't know why they haven't replaced it yet. Everything is still there the dome and the track although the track is in peices.
No it didn't!! It closed because it was costing to much in repairs as it was such an old ride, and because it was such a popular ride. Also due to new health and safety guidelines, Alton Towers would have to build steps and a walkway for emergency exit right to the top of the drop, which would have cost a small fortune. The ride is still under the tent though, broken into peices waiting for the day Alton Towers see's sense and brings it back!
i went last week with school and have been out of the country for 4 years i use t love that ride it was the first rolo coaster i ever went on but i was like where the f is it and then one of the park attendants said it was gone i was really upset
I got stuck on that when i was about 12, literally for about an hour.. they wouldn't let us off as it was "unsafe" even though we could see the exit, really hurt when it jolted to a stop as u have to sit in between people's legs. I remember a woman claiming she was pregnant to get off ha. Was worth it though as we got free ride passes to get on all the rides at exits! Miss this ride was a classic!

1-there were no stairs to the top in case of evacuation, and 2 the ride was old and getting harder to maintain as the years went by

I recognise this music I think! Is it from the disneyland space mountain advert that used to be on all my disney videos!!! im sure it is. Did Air replace this ride? I'm sure its in the same spot that Air is in now. AIR is soooo gooooood! actually, I'm not sure, but I think I remember this ride from when I went to Alton towers a few years ago and Air was there. hmmm

No, Air is in a completely different location, and the Black Hole's Dome is still standing, over in the X-Sector by Oblivion. ^_^

I only rode it once and I loved it. I also liked the fact that you really didn't know what you were waiting for and I was younge so I got a bit scared. The actual reason they took it down according to Alton was that it couldn't take round many people per hour and that is the reason why the que was so long. I don't know why they haven't replaced it yet. Everything is still there the dome and the track although the track is in peices.

No it didn't!! It closed because it was costing to much in repairs as it was such an old ride, and because it was such a popular ride. Also due to new health and safety guidelines, Alton Towers would have to build steps and a walkway for emergency exit right to the top of the drop, which would have cost a small fortune. The ride is still under the tent though, broken into peices waiting for the day Alton Towers see's sense and brings it back!

i went last week with school and have been out of the country for 4 years i use t love that ride it was the first rolo coaster i ever went on but i was like where the f is it and then one of the park attendants said it was gone i was really upset

I got stuck on that when i was about 12, literally for about an hour.. they wouldn't let us off as it was "unsafe" even though we could see the exit, really hurt when it jolted to a stop as u have to sit in between people's legs. I remember a woman claiming she was pregnant to get off ha. Was worth it though as we got free ride passes to get on all the rides at exits! Miss this ride was a classic!

Best ride ever i was like 12 wen i first went on it...it built up tension as it went up and up...i luvd it...BRING IT BACK!!!!
