  • Supadasupadahangindawithadamisterdacooperda

Best part of that theme but its not on this one. I wonder y

  • Mr cooper was the best show...ive seen in a long time, and it wasnt a typical black comedy,it was a wholesome show for everybody no matter the color they dont make shows like this anymore

  • God, the memories! ;)

My Brotha and i use to love this theme tune,..we use to laught at it also! ;)

What a classic show,...the good old days!

  • Gary Boren and Steve Chesne did all music on Cooper, the last three years working for WB, Michael Morris, Bob Raff and Bickley/Warren. Anybody wanna hear the demo, pre- air version? BTW, the 2nd year theme song was NOT sung by James Brown, although it sounds like him. I wish I could buy the 5 year series in stores.

  • @odball101 sure, i'd like to hear it

  • Oh that's my jam

  • I remember this show when it was on TGIF!!!!

  • omfg lol that's so funny!!! E

  • True fact: Before "Hangin' With Mr Cooper" was supposed to go off the air, rumors had spread that it would move to CBS from ABC for the 1997-98 season. (In fact, CBS had planned to place the show back on Friday nights, as they followed through with "Family Matters" and "Step by Step" for it's "Block Party CBS" Lineup, that had sort of been a ripoff of ABC's TGIF.) However, CBS had declined the show, and ABC had ended the show before the 1997-98 season had come.

  • I heard about the CBS Block Party. It only lasted one season. And shows that were once popular years ago were not popular anymore (Family Matters and Step by Step). None of these shows even ranked in the top 100 in Nielsen ratings.

Honestly, it was better that Hangin' With Mr. Cooper was ended on ABC. If aired on CBS, it would not have been popular and besides, the show had a great ending!

  • This is from the last 3 seasons(1994-95 season, 1995-96 season, and the 1996-97 season) which the theme song was sung by James Brown and written by Gary Boren and Stephen Chesne. In the last season, ABC had moved the show to Saturday nights from it's TGIF Friday Night lineup slot, (Which was on Friday nights from April 1993 to May 1996), and the final episode aired on August 30th, 1997.

  • @vzeu019j Oh man, this really brings back memories... It's so crazy to see people talking about this on youtube!

I am Gary Boren's son, and he did indeed write (and record) this theme with the help of Steve Chesne. However, I can assure you that James Brown did not sing on it. He will tell you the same thing, which he actually does a few comments up. "odball101" is my dad. (the 'demo, pre-air version' he mentions is kind of a give-away)

  • This is gonna be my ring tone :-)

  • which season theme is this?

  • Season 3 to the end of the series in season 5.

  • this is my show man!

  • LOL I loved this song too!

  • OMG,my brother and i use to love this show and alway's took the piss out of the theme tune when it came on tv!

We use to say Cooper(Mark Curry) was sooo gay back then,...and seeing this now just show's we werent wrong either!;)

It's a classic and makes me laught when i see it now! ;)

  • i love this theme song. can someone please upload episodes to hangin with mr. cooper?

  • The lady's voice at :32 sounds just like Yolanda Adams!

  • What a GREAT theme song! I bet if a show had a theme like that now, the song would win a freakin' Emmy, LOL.

  • This was the best theme version fuck Envogue!!! Coopah Coopah........ Coooooooopah! lol

  • does anybody know that's James Brown singing?

  • no it's not .. retard

  • yes it is. look on Wikipedia

  • James Brown's words have NEVER been that coherent in his life!

  • look on Wikipedia and shut up....that is him.

  • Lol, anyone besides me notice that most of the words in the lyrics shown on the bottom were misspelled. Methinks this was done purposely by the white producers in some lame attempt to prove that they're down. Either that or they assume that all blacks speak like that (i.e: ebonics instead of proper english).

  • I noticed that crap too..ex."gonna tear the haawouuus dooooouowan" WTF?!?! and "we can wer-ack it ouuwat" lol..they were soooooo wrong for that!!

  • I used to think Raven's little dance was the COOLEST ever!

  • well, you're a douchebag

  • i like this one but En Vogue cant be topped they can sing their azzes off. but i probably say that being biased

  • This was the best intro and theme song for the show. I never really liked the En Vogue one or the "Soul Man" shit as much once this one came out. This was perfect for the show and the times for me. Damn, I miss the early '90s.

  • I like this one but I cant ever say nothin bad about En Vogue

  • Take me back. I am a big Mark Curry and Raven fan. Robinson Peete has always been fine

  • I kno Holy wuz da shit bac den

  • I love this show, brings back great memories.

  • YESS!!! I loved this begining, iono wut it is but takes u back 2 the good ol dayz of livin

  • raven WAS a cutie, now she's smearin on dark brown foundation like a madman

  • Yeah, on that's so raven she looks really weird with that new foundation i just thought she got a bad tan or got air brushed or something

  • OMG this took place in my hometown!!!

  • Raven was cute then, and is FINE!! now

  • FucK the en vogue version this is the best one. OOOOOOOOO I remember saying everyday Raven would be my wife! BOY WAS I WRONG LOL!

  • Fuck you, ass wipe! The En Vogue version is the only one that matters! THAT one is the best! The video for it is hot too!

  • those harmonies still give me chills

  • U must have an exciting life...

  • damn nobody has the one with En Vogue from the first season

  • OMG, classic. One of my favorite sitcoms of the 90's, despite it's cheesyiness. I love the intro.
