aight peeps, let me lay it down here. Gwar is a band that exists to lampoon the very existence of ridiculousness. Slipknot exists to vent rage and raw emotion. They are two totally different styles of band, i.e. Gwar is thrash and Slipknot is more heavy. I'm sure any fan of Gwar will say you don't listen for heavy vocals or screaming instrumentals, whereas you don't listen to slipknot to fucking laugh. They are both bands that should be respected and possibly honored for breaking tedium. Done.

Lordi is more like metal for 9 year olds, There's no way i'd allow a 9 year old to listen to GWAR due to the lyrical themes. You have no arguement. On top of that, nothing that Lordi does in their live shows is ANYTHING like anything GWAR has ever done. @hellspawn328 Ha ha, sounds like fun. With a stage show like that it must be an awesome concert. I saw the movie Heavy Metal back in the early Summer of 1981 when it just came out at Theaters. I was 17 back then and I loved that cartoon movie. The sound track was great.

Hopefully you will get to see them again at a future date. I have been to a ton of old school Heavy Metal Concerts back in the day. Some of my favorites were Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and AC/DC. The craziest and wildest concert I saw 30 years ago was The Pasmatics. I'll share a video with you.

aight peeps, let me lay it down here. Gwar is a band that exists to lampoon the very existence of ridiculousness. Slipknot exists to vent rage and raw emotion. They are two totally different styles of band, i.e. Gwar is thrash and Slipknot is more heavy. I'm sure any fan of Gwar will say you don't listen for heavy vocals or screaming instrumentals, whereas you don't listen to slipknot to fucking laugh. They are both bands that should be respected and possibly honored for breaking tedium. Done.

@akgah Oy. If you look at Gwar and think of them as nothing but a laugh, you really don't need to be talking about what "any fan of Gwar" would say. They are not the only novel band to come along over the years. They've stuck around because their music kicks ass. Their skill at satire only sweetens it.
If you like Slipknot, that's great. I can't fucking stand them, but whatever. The point is that they don't each exist to fill some goddamn niche. I love Gwar and could do without Slipknot any day.
