Logan wasn't the one who killed Jean, she killed herself -- super-regeneration or not, if Jean Grey hadn't desperately struggled to keep Phoenix from destroying everything that she loved and held dear, Logan would've been killed in an instant; their powers were worlds apart at this point.

It would seem to me that Jean shows off enhanced powers since she can easily block Prof. X's telepathy so she does show Jean's powers too
Well the comic books tell you what Phoenix is if you read them. Anything in these movies should be disregarded. Okay I gotcha. But I still think it's best to just forget about these movies interpretations altogether and not bother trying to make sense of them, because for the most part they slayed the true storyline, especially the 3'rd movie. And I hope that when people look back and try to make sense of the X-Men lineage they are using the comic books, and not these movies with their new twists as their point of reference.

Prof X didn't die! He tranferred his mind to that body on Muir Island! People need to remember that in Marvel movies there is ALWAYS an extra clip after the credits.
I don't think people should be complaining that X3 Jean wasn't like the comics. The comics went waay too much into magic and fantacy with phoenix, while the producers decided to keep the movies more 'sci-fi' and focused instead on Jean being an extremely powerful telekinetic mutant. (Hence her face being flushed with dark blood-like fluid when she goes all-out.)
In X2 Phoenix force (the name of jeans power) looks alot better than it does in X3, She look fiery and all together much more Phoenix like than she does in X3.

i think one of the greatest flaws of X-Men The Last Stand is they made Jean looked like an exorcist victim. instead of giving her a fiery image, they gave her a black-colored eyes when it should have been red. and i just miss the shrieking sound of the bird. hmmm....
@may1978ad I think they tried to add realism since this isn't a cartoon. They implied a phoenix through Jean's red hair and firey backgrounds at time. Giving her this split personality I think was a pretty interesting and clever twist to the live action series. Plus, switching off fire power for absolute control of matter is a pretty nice trade-off in terms of ability. I think this was necessary to shield her character from potentially looking fake. Just my opinion

The original plan was to subject Jean to a procedure that would more or less permanently suppress Dark Phoenix's powers, with the option of Dark Phoenix returning for future storylines.

Thus they had Jean turn back into Phoenix and commit suicide. When they wanted to bring back Jean for X-Factor, they could only do so by separating Phoenix from Jean. In fact, Shorty35565, having the Phoenix be Jean -- or at least a part of her -- in the film was a return to the original comics idea.

I think she honestly believed Magneto was more powerful & level headed that X. However I don't think she supported the cure or the extermination of hostage mutant origin of it. If she actually read one of the comic books, she's see that Chris Claremont had no intention of relating Jean/Phoenix in anyway to Christ. I'm all for religion and to each his own, but Elvina is stretching it. Guys go and check it out for yourselves, you'll learn more from that than from either me or Elvina.

@may1978ad I think they tried to add realism since this isn't a cartoon. They implied a phoenix through Jean's red hair and firey backgrounds at time. Giving her this split personality I think was a pretty interesting and clever twist to the live action series. Plus, switching off fire power for absolute control of matter is a pretty nice trade-off in terms of ability. I think this was necessary to shield her character from potentially looking fake. Just my opinion

@shorty35565 Originally, the Phoenix *was* Jean, at the very peak of her powers. She later turns into Dark Phoenix (long story -- you can find it in the comics) and destroys a solar system. After deciding that the Phoenix was too powerful, the creators decided to remove her from the storyline. The original plan was to subject Jean to a procedure that would more or less permanently suppress Dark Phoenix's powers, with the option of Dark Phoenix returning for future storylines.

@BelleBook If the solar system had been inhabited, the original plan would've worked. But the creators had made the solar system inhabited, and the editor-in-chief protested. Thus they had Jean turn back into Phoenix and commit suicide. When they wanted to bring back Jean for X-Factor, they could only do so by separating Phoenix from Jean. In fact, Shorty35565, having the Phoenix be Jean -- or at least a part of her -- in the film was a return to the original comics idea.

@ElksBerry7 she didn't disintegrate him. phoenix' powers are energy manipulation, alter timelimes, generate cosmic fire, and manipulate matter. she actually didn't disintegrate anyone, she just wiped them off of existence. the only powers she showed in this movie was flight (for like 5 seconds LOL), telekinesis (it's not even the Phoenix' power, but Jean Grey's power at her peak [she's omega level mutant]) , and energy manipulation where she just simply wiped them off of existence.

I know that many of us would like to have powers like the x-men. what if I we could have this? I'm saying that there are powers, just like this embeded into ourselves. Also Not once during this entire film did Jean grey emanate that fiery aura as she did in the comic books., or the animated series even.. I mean In the second one they at least showed her with the fiery fire bird figure surrounding her body... and then all of a sudden they didn't do that anymore in the 3rd one...

I do believe that Charles was using way too much Neuro Lingual Programming & mind control tactics in general. Didn't the comics suggest in one of the old back issues that she joined on condition that the army would not become involved because as a child they tried to force her to become a governmental weapon or exterminate her?? Was X good underneath moralistically or otherwise because wouldn't he know the basics in his expertise? Wouldn't he know Scott may be Orbed, or teleported not dead?

I think she honestly believed Magneto was more powerful & level headed that X. However I don't think she supported the cure or the extermination of hostage mutant origin of it. It would not surprise me if she turned into Kitty to free that one. I think the Phoenix would rather die than fight this battle cause its for naught. She doesn't want to be dragged into it.

Don't get me wrong I think she adored Logan but progressed. I think she would love him as a dear friend but not as a lover. I think they just don't see things the same way. I believe typically she'd like to be more peaceful & he would like to play war games under any government funding he can find & then twist the arguement. If you want a good Phoenix read, pick up the Dark Phornix Saga, Phoenix:Endsong and Here Comes Tomorrow. It should help clear up the nonsense Elvina is spouting. If she actually read one of the comic books, she's see that Chris Claremont had no intention of relating Jean/Phoenix in anyway to Christ. I'm all for religion and to each his own, but Elvina is stretching it. Guys go and check it out for yourselves, you'll learn more from that than from either me or Elvina.
