I agree, Maeda is a very talented fighter, and quite honestly I thought he would have no trouble with Pearson. I was just so surprised that after he was caught in the choke, he didn't try to punch his way out. He seemed totally surprised and unprepared to fight off the choke, especially when the choke was first put on. I would really like to see Maeda show what he can really do in a Pride event. He is so dangerous in Pancrase and Deep, as he just knocked out his last opponent 2/4/07.

maeda's pride peformances have been pathetic. i've seen nearly of all his fights(most of which took place in pancrase), and he looks like a totally different fighter outside of deep and pancrase.

if maeda realized that his hands can block incoming punches instead of him backing away into a corner, and the fact that he pretty much had pearson in control on that takedown, he might've done a little better.
