The characters on the show are dirt bags, they're lovable dirt bags, but still dirt bags. The interviewer was treating them the way most would in the real world. Also, the host of 'Q' and the 'Hour' are both fans of the show. I don't know if you live in Canada, however, we Canadians got the 'joke'. Also, Q is an intellectual program, so...
