its not that i dont like non american cars. i just dont like toyota, they are based for old people. i seriously dont think i being 25 would want a camry. Ive got my whole life to buy a reliable vehicle, but im going to have fun and buy a stylish powerfull car in the mean time
Buick and Jaguar de-throwned Lexus and Toyota of being the most reliable recently....but I still love Toyota...the Venza has to be one of or Toyota's most stylish vehicle to date
Hated MB R-class,, ugly minivan like,, without MB logo it's more like dodge.. R-class interior fit finish is cheap.. fit and finish doesn't fit Luxury level, every bumps creat rattle noise.. Toyota will steal R-class buyers.. unlike R-class it looks more like car+SUV...
What are you talking about? Toyotas are great. I have two Toyotas, '94 Camry (still going strong) with over two hundred thousand miles and a '04 Sequoia. Never had problems with either vehicle. My first two cars were a '87 Camaro Z28 and '90 Ford Escort. Both cars were a PIECE OF CRAP. Experienced all kinds of problems from engine to transmission. I received half dozen recall notices every year. Doubtful I will ever buy another Chevy or Ford. Looks like the Venza will be my third Toyota.
Well, Ford, IDK what the hell Ford was thinking most of their stuff is too complicated to fix. And IDK much about Chevy, sad thing though is that American Manufactures are beat in the long run against Japanese/Import models. Here, they concentrate too much on bigger blocks, they invented a small rotary that can give the big blocks a run for its money. Honestly, AM. Manufactures should take a step back and learn from Toyota, Honda, etc.
Newsflash: No shit global Economy. You just learn that? Hence the problem in this country. If I could buy all USA I would. That way kids don't get poisoned w/Chinese lead paint and such. However because of people like you that LOVE NON American goods and are ANTI American and ANTI Domestic (per your post), there will always be demand for that foreign shit. Meanwhile all of our jobs are lost to them and unemployeement keeps rising. But thats OK ANTIAMERICAN TORONTOBOI you keep buying foreign.
FNOZMAN, dude, it's just a car; to each his own. Right or wrong, the perception is that Toyota/Honda are the best; to the victor goes the spoils. As for 'demand for that foreign shit', why is okay for Americans to buy American cars they love, yet it's wrong when we stray across automotive lines? What happened to freedom of choice? Did you hear the Japanese automakers crying foul when the Big Three were raking in huge profits from the immense sales of their SUV's?
And i'm sure you only buy American made, inferior DVD players, flat-screen TVs and other electronics. And you'd NEVER buy non-American produced wine and beverages, otherwise that'd just make you a real big hypocrite trying to support the UAW with their high-school grads making $35/hour and $1500/vehicle going to pay for their pensions.
Newsflash: we live in a GLOBAL ECONOMY. If American products were #1 in quality, we'd all buy them, plain and simple.
TorontoBoi. WOW, Just as I stated-bunch of anti American's out there. If this country had not sold their fucking souls, companies an dproperty to foreign countries-I would buy American. You start by stating INFERIOR. I hope you don;t live in the states. Stay up North. AAYY.
@Turquoise66 Sure if that's all you have ever tasted, I'd be interested to know where most vineyards original vines came from, certainly wasn't Cleveland.
@TorontoBoi Wow, well said. Having worked in North American auto plants and Japanese there is a real difference. UAW = drug use, alcohol abuse, fights and no action taken due to the union, Japanese = effeciency, quality, and a culture of continuous improvement.
"Venza" when pronounced in Japanese sounds exactly like the word for toilet (便座). Hmmm... if this is being sold in Japan as well they will surely change the name over there.
Nonetheless, Toyota is a good brand and this looks like a decent car.
Front look like a Ford edge. is the filosofy of toyota to make cars in america that resemble amareican cars so they look more indigenous and appealing to people who are still though to win ther hearts and mind over american pride, this marketing strategy have been paying high dividend for toyota, anyway toyota should be focusing in more fuel efficient cars rather than this fuel guzzling dinosaurs which are only 3mpg more efficient than a 1986 Ford Bronco, flopping toyota where r the 40mpg SUV u
The market is swarming with $30-40k crossover SUVs and crossover 'cars' and the more of them I see, the better a used but certified and warranteed Jaguar XK8 looks. Pulling up to the Valet Parking at the Bellagio or the Venetian, I'd rather be in the Jag. If people moving needs to be done, maybe a used one of these at 1/4 the list price might make a useful second car.
At first glance on the brochures, this looks really big but then I saw it at the NY auto show and the size seems just about right for everyday use, i like the rear every unique and sporty look from the rear and side, but the front seems too similar to the Ford Edge...this is something to consider looking at
yeah its a luxury 5 seat crossover like the murano so it wud start about 28k to 30k since like it said standard 20in wheels v6 and its rly nice except for the front its kinda distracting but when u see one on the road it wud be nicer than many cars its pretty luxurious too but since it wud cost about over 30k u cud use that money for a pretty well equiped highlander sport for about 33k which has 3 row seating but of course not as luxurious
the X5, murano and CX-7 are not more like a car with driver-oriented performance and can smoke many mid-size sedans even they are cross-overs not really SUVs which are based on truck platforms. I wonder how this big Venza compare to the other 3 cross-overs. But the body styling / body language doesn't say that it is a driver's cross-over, more like a family-oriented cross-over. I dislike Camry, and it this thing drives like a Camry, I will dislike it too.
While this is quite nicely designed with good power. It kind of lack the ultimate machine image I am looking for. Too bad, it could be my next car as I don't like sedans, and I don't like SUV either. I have been driving a lowered minivan. And this thing looks close to a minivan with a wider body. But, still lack the driver image. hmmm... May be I buy the X5 diesel or CX-7 or Murano.
Possibly a Lexus version? RX350 replacement? Or better yet a WX350? Panoramic Roof, Navi, Push button start.. etc. It looks luxury enough to make its way to the Lexus brand any one?
no. Lexus will have the RX remodeled within the next year.. and have a smaller suv (or cuv?) later also. But yeah. If you can't afford an RX, then might as well go for this.
i just came

Probably cost about the same price as the Murano.

i dont think so, since it comes with a v6 maybe mid 30's price or lower than highlanders, rogue is more liek a honda cr-v type
benz4life 3 years ago
no it'll slot between the Rav4 and Highlander...so starting at around $24k-$25k and maxing out at $33k
