once the babies start swimming horizontaly it is time to remove the male as he will then see them as food... now its your turn to feed them baby shirmps and such untill you can tell which are male and which are female and at the time you must seperate the babies.... after that u should be abel to feed them regular betta food and start the process all over....

they wont kill each other... you have to keep the male a female seperate, but they have to be in the same tank... keep seperate by using like a glass vase of something like that... the male will build a bubble nest and do a mating dance and flare up at the female and such, I do believe the female will flare up back at him I think...

at that time you release the female into the male tank and they will play chase for a lil bit but u have to keep watch cuase if the female wont mate he will try to bite her.... eventualy the male will curl himself around the female and squeeze the eggs out of her, the female passing out in th process... the male will scoop up the eggs and spit them into his bubble nest as the female slowly falls to the bottom of the tank where she regains her composure just to have it done to her all over again

this will go on for a few hours usualy... this is why u have to keep watch... as soon as the female stops releasing eggs and starts running from the male u have to remove her and put her into a medicated tank to recover (I lost 2 females in the process my first time)... the male will then take care of the bubble nest, the eggs, and eventualy when the babies start dropping from the nest he will scoop em up and spit em back into the nest
