  • Why are the Scottish such good singers? Just a thought.

  • I hate people saying "im old" since you like Ultravow and they have been around for a long time.I like to think that i was young at the right and certainly the best time!

And i`ll grow old at the same time as these guys

  • @polterter he makes me do things i wouldn't do sober. like sing. plies me with newcastle brown ale he does. little bugger knows they make me sing (usually rude songs in irish gaelic). but i still love him.

  • what was with this man and trechcoats and wellies? i still love you my favorate wee glaswegan even if you get me in trouble all the time.

  • @TheSandsie13 why does he get u in trouble?

  • microcube65 thank you , you just made a old man smile !! shazam1059

  • the man can't dance. but who cares . he 's got the voice that sends me over the edge.

  • @TheSandsie13 haven`t you seenhim move! just the way he moves his body is enough for me!

  • is it just me or does every woman wish he'd turn "that certain smile" on them?

  • @TheSandsie13 He did to me! And i was lost forever!

  • Raise your hand and swear to God, it's love... ♫

  • IRINA SLUTSKAYA has That Certain Smile ...

  • Bring back the good old days when music was actually extremely good.... I miss those days. Maybe it's me just getting old though ;) Midge released some classic songs like I'f I was' and 'Call of the Wild.' And Ultravox were amazing too. 'Reap the wild wind' - an absolutely fantastic song!

  • Another fantastic song from Ultravox. The song gives me hope for the future and I believe that we grow wiser as we get older.

  • i don't know, but I always cry when I hear this song... remember when I was a kid.....

  • The old man who sneaks in @ :20 is the same old chap who appeared in Bauhaus videos.

  • @whitekuduone He was a actor, appeared in a few films that i can remember. Librarian in Indiana Jones & Last Crusade comes to mind

  • amazing contrast and balance - lovel sound

  • u dont get music like this these days

  • Beside If I Was and Breathe this is my fave from Midge.... SImply GREAT songs!

Fallen already for your "certain smile" years ago,Midge! Thanks microcube65 for uploading this!

  • Magnificente! Perfetto l'equilibrio della canzone che crea un senso generale di armonia.

  • heard this in 1986 - i just had a bath on a friday night , my brother had wrecked my night rider watch ..........haven't heard it since then .23 years

  • hermosisima melodia a cargo de uno de mis genios favoritos midge ure

  • My very fav out of Midges stuff. Saw him recently in in the Return to Eden tour with Ultravox and they were amazing, Visions in Blue from the night on my profile.

  • Good song! What's weird is, the drums are progammed in the exact style of Ultravox's legendary drummer Warren Cann. When Midge rejoined Ultravox the next year (86; A Certain Smile was 85), the first thing he did was kick Warren out (and turn Ultravox into a poor man's Big Country).

Also - bass player on A Certain Smile was Nigel Ross-Scott of the group Re-Flex, best known for The Politics Of Dancing.

  • glorious melody and the musicians look great here. very elegant midge ure

  • Midge 6 il miglioreeeeeeeeeee

  • another good track is when the winds blow of the GIFT album

  • midge ure-you have us!!!!!

  • not bad

  • This song is so simple yet effective. Midge did not need to add bells and whistles to this song.

  • His BEST Song ;) :).....But, I really like to see and listen the full verison of this song.

  • Midge's finest song just about sums up the eighties for me, great song great memories.

  • love this song - have full version on mp3 if anyone wants a copy...

  • I will worship the ground you walk on if I could get it

  • This song could just go on and on forever and it'd still sound the biz!!

Pure Masterclass and just so underrated :)

  • What a great song - this is a masterpiece to me; feelings, emotions... This song should never end, the outo is outstanding. But sadly the song is faded out.

  • This takes me back to my teenage years and was the best thing Midge Ure ever did - always brings a tear to my eye thinking of what could have been - good post

  • almost brings a tear to my eye also... boy i miss those unique days :)

  • I love this song. The 80s was great.

  • Wish I could get a copy of 'The Gift'. Mark King played bass on a couple of tracks. Please post 'Wastelands'.

  • sned me your e-mail address and further directions and I will burn u a copy

  • touched more much more than "If I was" did a few weeks before in 1985... maybe because I had been fallen for a certain smile in those years :-)

  • thank you Scotland!!!!

  • great song that reminds me the beautiful moments of good old days...thanks for posting

  • Midge Ure covered Bowie's Man Who Sold The World for the soundtrack of a film called Party Party in the early Eighties. I heard it once on Radio 1 and was totally knocked out. If anyone has a copy I would love to hear that again.

  • Gooorgeous. Still love this album and all the U-vox stuff. I imagine Midge singing this to me and the world doesn't seem such a bad place after all. Thanks for posting.

  • `Wonderful song from Midge. He never got full credit for Live Aid as Saint Bob made more noise. I must go dig out that old Ultravox cassette....

  • Superb! If only he'd released this after Live Aid instead of that mediocre routine that got to number one!

  • What a great song - not heard it in years. Midge Ure is a great musician and very underated. Thanks for posting

  • this is pretty cool

  • What a performer! One of the best voices ever. Seen him in Belfast at Queen's Uni Students Union - he gave off to a rookie spotlight operator who kept the light in his eyes. But did it in a nice way which taught the guy how to do it properly. The crowd loved it. FANTASTIC!! WHAT A VOICE!!!

  • Excellent group.

    I just love this song!

    Simon. :-)

  • Yes more of Midge ure he has a lot of great pop tunes so share the with us

  • Short :( I needed full version ! :)

  • Had Midge Ure pointed sideburns in the 80's! would love to still have them but they'd be grey now! Love this track more than 'If I was', should've been more of a hit single. Midge is so underrated. Ever thought of who you would invite as a dinner guest given 5 choices?... Midge would be one of them.

  • We need more Midge - any1 got any u-vox stuff?

  • thank you for posting this.
