Pointless showing people how to do something if half way through the tutorial your not sure what you are doing and have to explain you have not used the program in a while. So I got totally lost and well have to look for another tutorial. I am sure it's really not that hard to do.
@MicrosoftsourceCode lighten up man, nobody is perfect. this video was made specifically for a friend, ill make a new tutorial when i get time now that i've been using max more often. but really, just because i got a bit lost doesnt mean the vid is pointless.
@TexDstZ I have lightened up. I am just pointing out the fact that when you are being taught something and the teacher a mistake most people follow blindly until someone spots the error. If you record a video full of error it makes it hard to follow. Not editing out the errors means one has to watch the clip over and over until it makes sense or they give up. Not easy to do but 99% of Tutorials on this subject too messy. The high ratings they have is cause of having to watch over and over.
@MicrosoftsourceCode Fair opinion, i will try to record a new tutorial when i get home but im a bit swamped with work atm, untill then.. as long as people can get something out of my tutorial(s). uv mapping takes a couple of tries to get the hang of when you start out but i agree that this video could be revised.
Incidentally, I understood and followed your tutorial on the first watch. Just pointing out that I had absolutely no issue with your short-term uncertainty.
@pickthall76 Nothing in on the net is free. You have pay for the electric that powers you computer and you Internet bill. Check my tutorials. You won't have to keep going back over and over to understand them. Then again I took a long time getting my mind to doing a tutorials and it is not easy. But I guess I teach the way I would like to be taught. People say MAX is hard to learn and believe it and end up free to think clearly.
there are only 3 videos over whole youtube having video related to texporter..
it asks me to instal it into the root folder of 3ds max yet its telling me every single map that has something to do with 3ds max isnt an installation folder...
what the fuck?
i dont get to see it in 3ds max as plugin so where the crap do i have to instal this ?
Wait I have an object I built in 3ds max. I have textured it in 3ds max with multible textures. How can I get the UV map of the textures (the one were all the textures are in one file)
@TexDstZ Thank you, I am making a FPS, I have all my models textured in 3ds, with all different texture files, last step is to map out the texture so that all that is turned into one file so it can be used to texture in game. So difficult lol. Thank you though, you will help greatly.
@soviet176 oh okay, if you would like to you can email me one of the models and i can do a specific example of uvmapping using that model. Entirly up to you tho, im going to have to put the tutorial together 2moro tho sorry :( lots to do
Next time turn off Steam when recording :/

Thanks bro great tutorial but same question as above that why use texporter instead of unwrap uvw
Harneetsssss 1 year ago
@Harneetsssss
Well you can just render the map, personally i just find it easier to use texporter so i can get an idea of where parts of the mesh are on the map.
glad this helped =]

Nice tutorial man, but I don't see the reason why you used Texporter. Didn't the Unwrap Uvw do the same thing as it?
