  • start finding your own style, otherwise u'll end like davidsinrocks!

  • @nicklei369 no, i have my own style, but sometimes its fun too play songs/scales/rhythms/licks of your favorite band, and if you practice with joy, its much better than without. i never wanted to play only like him, i have many influences and i can create my own music, just to judge me by this video is a bit overhasty i think. but if you like check out this channel, its my main one, ill post all of my new stuff there. so thanks for watching and your advice. greetz JoshiRHCP

  • This is really good! Nice improv :D

  • @FilmPriest thank you :)

  • it's good!!!!!!

  • do you have tabs for this man?

  • @GibsonES325 sorry no, thats what an improvisation is about^^ but i think you can figure out some of the better licks of this 7 minutes of having fun with pentatonic and major scale yourself, try it, take the ones you like, listen to them over and over again and just try to find the notes on your guitar, this helped me alot in my first years to become better. nowadays i often hear a song and can see the chords in my head and cover the lines very fast just by ear if its not too crazy

  • Im Japanese! Im 16old.

I love John Frusciante! You are cool!!!!!!!

  • @tebez032 Thank you! I like your comment! I love John too! You're the man! :D

  • 70ss reissue?

  • @fendstratz1050 no reissue

  • maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, you are god *-*

  • @gingerwentmad haha nope not really but thx, thats a nice compliment :)

  • @JoshiRHCP no, seriously, john would be proud of the student :>

  • Gravy.

  • @blasphemerous whats gravy? :) whatever, thx! haha

  • DUDE that was sick man. how long have you been playing bro?

  • @stevenpenso thx a lot, i was playing for about 3 years, maybe a bit more.

  • great job man :)

  • first thing that came to my mind when hearing this was the californication intro from slane castle.....great job. frusciante is the best guitarist in the world

  • @magic131 thanks, i appreciate it. Best in the world? I don`t know, technically seen i wouldn't agree, but he creates awesome sounds and wrote some amazing songs!

  • @JoshiRHCP thats what music is all about

  • @AmrHAmin yes, but if you compare guitarists you have to take their timing, their techinique, their speed, eye hand coordination, their knowledge about scales and things into consideration, so i wouldnt say hes the best, but he is probably one of the best artists writing amazing songs!

IMHO there are technically seen better guitarists who could play what he plays (of course not with the same emotions and feelings etc, but probably also very good) and even better, but they didnt write it! he did!

  • melancholy melody!

  • Jesus Frusciante !

  • @spou94 ^^ thanks for your comment, haha, made me laugh, hope you liked it!

PS: i have a second channel, which will be my main where ill post stuff now and then, so i would be glad if youd check it out! don't hate me just because i'm german haha^^ -> IOneNightJamI greetz

  • dude you are reallyyy awesomeee .... can you please tell me what chords , what pentatonic and major scales you use for improvisation in frusante`s style ?? and where I can find Fruscante`s licks ?? sorry for my bad english ...

  • Chords are in the desrciption. its Dm and Bb so i played pentatonic in d,and added some notes from the F major Scale which is included in Dm (hopefully im right haha i dont know much about music theory) and at some point at the end i played instead of the minor third the major third which is in this case an F# instead of F and switches the Dminor into D major (D F# A) and gives it a nice little touch sometimes, but you have to assure that your background doesnt play a minor chord over it ! :D

  • Nice Highway One Strat bro. Keep on doing what you're doin'! Sounds great!

  • @DepletedGuitarist thank you! maybe im wrong, but i think its a vintage strat greetz

  • @JoshiRHCP sry, i looked it up now on fender website and now im pretty sure its a classic, i didnt know all these kind of variations of the stratocaster, i just know mine is from the 70`s and sounds pretty amazing, thats enough information for me :D

  • @JoshiRHCP yeah you can definetly tell from the headstock itsa 70s :] great job bro

  • I just had such a beautiful jam to this on my drumkit. I played with my eyes shut the whole time just feeling the music going through me.

Thank you so very much for this video.

  • keep on rocking brother!!!

  • Some serious skill right there ! Keep up the great work : )

  • @MPatz1000 thank you :)

  • Really nice! I really like you style.

Im not good at playing guitar but love johns style, And I would love to see like a video lesson or something just to get the hang of How it can be done, and just to get some ideas how you can play simlar.

    Again Great work!

    Peace

  • @axel0o im not using this account anymore, i just answer questions and other comments, but maybe ill make one and post a link here, thank you

  • I can definetly hear the Frusciante influence but you've got your own style thrown into it, overall I liked it...a lot.

  • @DL345 thank you, i dont want to imitate him, but i just love his style and most of his lines, so im glad that you say that i have an own style haha^^

  • @JoshiRHCP np man you should put up some more videos!

  • i liked it. i wouldve had a distortion pedal handy, and sort of swtiched up tones every now and then, maybe even a wah depending on my mood. the scale was nice, good work with that. keep jamming on man.

  • @aheadatime i didnt have any pedals at that time^^ thx

  • very nice improvising. cheers, thanks for posting!

  • @ MikeSomethinK i'm saying of being able to play difficult songs sir.

  • you should try hammering and bending. i wish i could make up shit like that. im a pretty decent guitar player, but i can never figure out how to make up shit on my own. i can't jam its frustrating.

  • sounds good..nice job!

  • its really good ..... just i think in some parts look like you repeting some stafs maybe to often ...... just try to get out of borders of scales and those stafs .... do on hear ..... and its will be even better ..... keep it up ..... sorry for bad english ...

  • @rolerasi yes you`re right, thx for commenting

  • this is great as it is, great feel and improving...id love to jam with you some time if you lived in ottawa canada, we could def. get some nice sounds going

    Keep it up my man

  • Pretty cool man. Sounds like a californication intro. Not saying its bad but it would of sound better if you used the bridge pickup.

  • @vizcacha5 ive chosen the warmest one because i dont like it that spicy for this kinda music, thx^^

  • verrry nice. you make it look so easy. and fuck that other guy who called your shit dribble. if i were to close my eyes and listen to this, i would have thought it was frusciante at some point

  • very nice :)

  • man thats just lovely to listen too! well played! gonna listen to that now to help lull me to sleep! love the tone, really nice

  • compliment guy!

  • what scale

  • @dukefiya pentatonic and major scale, its in the describtion

  • @ 0:44 - 1:03 = frusciante.. AS FUCK

  • @karljb1990 omg yes, beautiful :)

  • Nice man. Great playing. What kinda gear you doin it with? Amp and details on the guitar. Looks like a 70s reissue strat of sorts...

  • @Dohlendo its no reissue, its an original 70s vintage strat (olympic white), the amp is a marshall JCM 2000 and loop pedal from boss (rc-2), no other effects, just amp, thx

  • @JoshiRHCP Wow, very nice. I used to have a JCM2000 TSL combo. Traded for a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, but this sounds like you're getting some great frusciante tones out of it. Nice 70s guitar too! I've had a few strats as well, none and as nice as your vintage 70s strat. Playin a tele now tho. Very nice man.

  • @Dohlendo i love this amo, its amazing, but it has very very.. very much highs and i dont like that there are so many and because of that i mostly play with my switch on the mids or the deeps^^ the guitar is amazing, too, but im searching for a cool tele or another strat... iv got a epiphone les paul, too, it has such a full tone, amazing! but i handed it over to may brother, i would like to play her again^^ greetz ONI

  • boring

  • Comment removed

  • @MrAlpenYodl danke spacko^^

  • It's really cool very good excuse the English Edison Brazil

  • @edisa51 thanks, your english is no problem.english is not my mainlanguage, too, so i also have my difficulties with grammar, spelling and vocabulary^^

  • There's no riff here. It's just dribble. I mean, I don't mind that sometimes if I am trying to go to sleep or something, but what you're doing has been done about a trillion times better by people like Gilmour and Frusciante. Try using more structure.

  • @guitichie99 whats dribble? of course john is better than me no doubt^^ dont know what you you expect from an 18 year old boy who played for 3 years^^but i think i have a good structure for a jam, my timing is ok, i used kind of variations of some licks, but my repertoire wasnt that big at that time, but every kind of criticism is good

  • @guitichie99 yeah, well maybe i should just stop playing the guitar. maybe i should just quit doing everything i do cuz 10,00,000 people have done it before. How is this guy meant to learn to compose music if he doesn't experement? Do you think frusciante is just "able: to put together a coherent piece of music instantly? NO. IT took 20 years of practice to develop that skill. This guy appears to know how scales work, and has decent skills, coherence will come with time. STFU thanks.

  • @paulio2293 I half agree with you. Yeah, it's not easy to put coherence in a piece of music, but it didn't took Frusciante 20 years to do that. He was a great guitar player at his 19 years old, you should check some stuff.

  • @paulio2293 Spot on there! Frusciante was practicing like 26 hours of the day for the best part of his life! We idolize an call him a god but his skills aren't divine!

  • how much did the guitar cost?

  • @ttdttdtt it was about 1.500€, its a real nice one, i like it alot, very good for funk and rock. i also possess an epiphone les paul which was about 500€ and is an amazing counterpart because of its very smooth and fat deeps and mids, i like both alot, but i usually play on the strat :)

  • Hey nice jamming, I have a stratocaster too, sunburst though :D

Would you do me a favour and check out a little layered jam I made?

Just type in R.I.P Brain - Bluesy Butterfly and you'll see it.

I'd like feedback from people with a real appreciation of music, such as those who would search for a video like this :)

  • you can hear that you listen much to johnny boy

    nice job dude

  • 5:03 that majorish part sounded something like Nirvana hahaha

    Very nice licks :)

  • this is f nice!!!!!!!!!

  • should try playing blazed lol. no joke..it sounds so amazing when i cover johns stuff. i could sit there for literally 5+ hours just playing frusciante etc..

  • That is fuckin' hot!

  • fuck yea

  • Hey bro, nice jam.... sorry if it has already been asked but how long have you been playing? Fruscinate is definately a player to inspire to learn from, which you clearly have done. I'm trying to head in the same direction, teaching myself. Would you happen to have any tips mate?

  • GREAT man!!

you have a good mind for music, go for it! :]

  • really awesome tottaly in frusciante style ....keep it up ....

  • I love this jam dude ! You Play really like frusciante

  • Great playing man :) Keep it up.

  • Great solo

  • i have the same guitar nice one:]

  • nice man! this is awesome! really has the frusciante style in it, but at the same time you make add more of your original style

Sweet jam =) how old are you by the way? i'm about to check your channel, but i thought i should ask =)

  • thx mate, i´m 18

  • dude u play a lot like me. Maybe because i'm a frusciante inspiried guitar player too :D greetings

  • you look like adam sandburg :D heh. sick jam tho

  • who is adam sandburg^^

  • its adam sandberg, lol hes a comedian and worked on saturday night live

  • great!!!! i really respect you.

in japan, there are no players like you.

    did you use major scale?

    from kaz

  • thx mate and yes, major scale and pentatonic, its in the description

  • great job man, how long have you been playing?

  • thx, 3 1/2 years

  • sounds great, i Got a santana Vibe from your soloing

  • Very nicely played and very Frusciante-esque. Maybe the next step would be to put some more variation in the intensity of your playing so get some more peak moments in the jam

  • yeah, thats true, i repeated things sometimes but i tried to variate it a little bit. i cant play really fast in the moment, but i think ill get better step by step and will have a bigger "vocabulary"

    - thx a lot -

  • Nice one dude, I enjoy it a lot.

  • thx, mate!^^
