  • Love the richly layered sound ( gimme that fuzz bass:-) just got turned on to these giys. Going to their concert in Groningen, NL this thursday ;-)

  • I heard about these guys from a magazine... Glad I did

  • Kinda sound like The Flaming Lips.

Would never have thought i'de ever make that comparison.

  • The vocals kind of remind me of Win Butler

  • I just love Wilco and Jeff Tweedy is a god

  • I was thinking the same thing Rush1013

  • Does anyone know what kind of bass rig Stirratt is using? It sounds like a Sunn of some sort, but eh dunno.

  • These guys(with the exception of Fleet foxes) are the best band i've discovered in 10 years. They can do no wrong by me.

  • i just decided to give this band a try soo glad i did good indie rock is hard to find and its my fave

  • i love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rush103 is right about the manzarek influence, and.I'm sure Wilco would be pleased and proud to admit to the blag, and praise the spotting...this is an art, and it builds on what has gone before...

  • Fuckin A you guys know too much.

  • I love the retro sound, specifically the organ. brings back many happy memories of the late 60s and 70s music.

  • I've tried listening to Wilco before and just couldn't get into it. I really like this song though

  • ? organ

  • Hell, sounds like David Bowie meets The Strokes to me. But whatever it sounds like sounds good.

  • @sparkytrick oh snap i thought the same thing

  • @no5W155- Oh snap!...who talks like that?,,grow up..

  • @Rush1013 YES

  • Freakin' fantastic

  • What a song!

  • Another Master piece wow!

  • Light my fire? I hate the knowitalls on here. I dont care if your brain is a music encyclopedia just shut up and let people enjoy or maybe you should make your own music sit in your room and only listen to that

  • I just heard this on the radio today, awesome discovery. I love the organ, reminds me of Ray Manzarek of The Doors.

  • @Rush1013 The organ is awesome reminds me of The Science of Sleep

  • Sounds like IRON BUTTERFLY but a little less intense ...Nice fat fuzzy bass sound ..Re3freshing ...

  • Cleverbot brought me here :)

  • i think its funny people cant just enjoy the music rather than worry about who they got it from cause clearly everyone is influenced by everyone else

  • @MrPneel all of youtube needs to read your comment

  • @MrPneel do you mind if I quote you on this, I'll use your name? well put

  • @marinqf i dont mind at all

  • Elvis Costello rip off. Still love it though!

  • artwork reminds me of my old broken Spyrograph/

buying this new Wilco album today

  • funny thing is, this song is better than light my fire.

  • @richmcgivney lol you're funny

  • @richmcgivney Heresy

  • pretty nice rip-off of light my fire by the doors

  • @lincolnscared Seriously? I think it borrows more from old Motown records than from anything the Doors ever did.

  • @NorthWriter sure but just listen to that organ, it's the same

  • @lincolnscared ar eyou serious? have you ever even HEARD Light My fire?

  • Fuzzy bass guitar? Check. Cool fucking rhythm. Check. Beatles-esque feel to the song? SUPER check.

  • I cannot put into words, how much I love this song. Oh, maybe I just did.... Haha!! Wilco forever!

  • I'm a big Wilco fan, but does anyone else hear a similar baseline to "Echos Myron" by Guided By Voices?

    /watch?v=QetZC5TIISI

  • I hear a little Elvis Costello, and some.... hm. Let me listen to it a few *more* times :)

  • Is this Urge Overkill?

  • well I just like it. enjoyable to listen to.

the production on this tune and "Born Alone" reminds me of The Who.

  • Funny someone said Bowie - I think Lennon. Brilliant band.

  • I haven't read all the comments...but am I the only one that hears Bowie singing with the doors??? love the tune

  • bought this album at the concert-amazing!!! Jeff Tweedy...there are no words.

  • Will be hearing this live tomorrow night. Such a good tune. The whole new album is amazing!

  • Me likey.Man,i need to get this album.

  • Going tomorrow NYC!!!! f...yeah

  • hell yea Wilco

  • is this album out yet?

  • @DamonAlbarnFan It came out today.

  • the new album is fuggin fantastic right from the opening track! wilco have tried to adopt a progressive approach to their song writing since wilco the album which was crap and they finally hit it on the nail with the whole love. if u think a country / folk rock band cannot be progressive then get ready to change your mind with this new album.

  • giving my girl a chance to see why i rave of wilco to her-- taken her to boston show !! shes so in for a musical treat !!

  • big tits or little tits?

  • @myndseye711 nah, u actually forgot one kind : the one that talks complete nonsense shit on the internet just to seem funny without noticing what bullshit it actually is talking.. youre prolly one of the best examples

  • Wilco "Whole Love" is featured on Indie/Rock Playlist: September (2011)

    theindierockplaylistdotcom

  • Air, Water, Food, Wilco ...

  • @gsaskue Add Wilco to my desert island discs! Right up there with the Go-B's, Radiohead and Graham Nash. What a discovery!

  • OMG want new album soooo bad

  • I've only just discovered Wilco, and i'm left asking only one question: why on earth havn't I listened to them earlier

  • There are two kinds of people in this world:

  • @PoppinCherrieZ

    How so?

  • @ybrik222 Just trollin' brohan

  • @ybrik222 negative. intersex? genderqueer? aint so black-and-white. let's not be cisgendered up in here, regardless of how 'minor' a minority may be.

  • @ybrik222 There are two kind of people in this world:

  • @ybrik222 HETERONORMATIVE!!!

  • I am SO excited about this album, everything I've heard of it thus far has been fantastic!

  • aspettiamoci un altro capolavoro

  • There are two kinds of people in this world:

Those who love Wilco, and those who need to listen to them for the first time. The gasoline isn't necessary. :)

  • God Dam Hardcore metal bands and their Glockenspiels!!!

  • GUYS READ THIS! Wilco released their album on their website for everyone. It only last about 24 more hrs. it ends the 4th of sept. Has a lot of great tunes, a lot of "new wilco" and a lot of "old wilco". Enjoy

  • Great tune, can't wait to see them in the UK.

Check out 'Kontiki Suite - Magic Carpet Ride' vid, new UK band, very Wilco like!

    You'll be glad you did!!

  • I hear Squeeze and I. LOVE. IT.

  • this song was so hard to find...I could not get enough understandable words to get a solid net search...I finally found it on billboard top 100...great sounding song, though, even if I can't understand half of what they're singing about

  • @towersd Shazam is a life saver if you can get it

  • @MegaJorah3001 Sound Hound is even better

  • @reido4597 fuck yeah soundhound, that shit's dope

  • @towersd i just searched wilco and found this song its pretty awsome

  • sounds a little like the new Big Audio Dynamite song Rob Peter Pay Paul...which is a good thing...

  • great song

  • i love this song. i cant wait for the whole album to come out.

  • is the image on the screen moving slightly(and im not stoned)

  • @Commanderwhiskers13 youre the stupidest person on this link by beleiving him ya jerk

  • Likes this.

  • This is a really fun song. Reminds me of their older stuff a little bit. Makes me want to dance.

  • The reality is there is two types of people - those who "get" wilco and those who don't get it - So just be happy, old or new that you are among the former - Looking forward to seeing them next month on tour

  • Is anyone else getting pissed at these "old" Wilco fans who think they know everything? Old Wilco fans are some of the most stuck up people I know.

  • @homesickpro it's cause wilco used to be better. their alt-country was amazing, and it was played with energy. Then they hit their experimental phase, which was absolutely incredible and revolutionized american music. Then they went back to playing country, but it was super relaxed and boring with unexciting lyrics. But from what i've heard of this new album i'm very excited. So i'm an old wilco fan who still has faith. But you have to give hardcore fans the right to complain. they've earned it.

  • old fans, new fans, you're all cool, 'cause you listen to Wilco. I also don't think Jeff Tweedy & gang care when you started listening. They are probably just stoked that you ARE listening. Love Wilco. Although Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is my favorite album, there is magic in every album and song Wilco has graced us with. I really am stoked about this single, hoping this is a good example of what's coming on 'WHOLE LOVE'

  • @AdamKSmithMusic I see what you mean. And AM does have its moments. Oh, and don't worry, Being There and Summerteeth are among my favorite albums of all time.

  • @AdamKSmithMusic I like most of Wilco's music. My least favorite would probably be that with Billy Brag, but those are still really amazing interpretations. Wilco really has these stages, and you coudl see how they've changed. I love AM, summerteeth, and Being there. There are so many Gems in those albums. I really love the last track of A Ghost is Born. I love their return to traditional rock and roll on sky blue sky and Wilco. And I'm really looking forward to their new album.

  • @jimmy1nth3machine I agree. I took a music appreciation and performance class several years ago and it totaly changed how I listen to music. Sitting down and listening to a record was how it was done originally, just like watching a movie or a play. All attention was diverted to that record. The ipod has relaly killed the album because we now only listen to singles.

  • @xaznacex The iPod hasn't done that, the generation that was accompanied by the iPod has done that. People that are part of the iGeneration can, and do, choose listen to albums in full. It's the only true way to appreciate music, and although most of the iGeneration doesn't listen to music worth appreciating, there are a few out there.

  • @DiceExpress17

I'm proud to be one of the members of the Igeneration who do listen to music the orignal way. But even members of the old generation use the ipod in a different way.Lots of ppl from the 80's who are parents today listen to singles a lot, just like their kids.

  • Maybe it's because it's a lot of totally unoriginal re-hashed crap, on the basis of this offering anyway. I was recommended to check them out but this is useless. Like Arcade Fires under a general anaestheic really.

  • @Hirudinaceous HA. HA. HA. Did you just say that Arcade Fire is in some way above Wilco? Hilarious. Go listen to Being There all the way through. Go listen to Summer Teeth all the way through. Go listen to YHF all the way through. It'll change the way you see all kinds of music. Arcade Fire is great, don't get me wrong. But Wilco is levels and levels past them.

  • Finally a Wilco single that isn't pure country, they have melded their more rocking songs like war on war with their major sounds of country influence... Love it!

  • Their album cover looks like something I sketched when I was in art school....years ago...cool

  • wilco will never top YHF or A ghost is born, but this is really great

  • I think the best wilco album is sky blue sky

  • Different sound, but still the Wilco I always love. Looking at comments below, yeah YHF was good (creative) but I think others such as Ghost is Born are overlooked. That is my personal favorite album for its range of sounds and styles and the deep struggle that Tweedy brings up so subtly.

  • I Might have been a Wilco fan, but this is gay, and I hate Wilco now

  • @Monolith787 If Wilco is gay I don't are to be straight.

  • I have a feeling that they heard Girl in a Coma's "Their Cell"....that lowish distorted bass part and melodies very similar. great song though.

  • Best band ever. Sonic explorers... frontier fighters... electric mercenaries... apologetic Gods.

  • Why are you all FIGHTING!?

  • @AdamKSmithMusic AM is not a gem. Songs like I must be High or Box Full of Letters are excellent, but the album still isn't very good. Still, to say that the album is the worst does not mean I hate it. I just don't like it, and think that it's inferior to Wilco (the Album).

  • @bananastan714 My hand is raised, sir!

  • this sounds too slight for wilco. not the biggest fan.

  • Comment removed

  • @bananastan714 who really cares when we started listening? A new Wilco fan is a thousand times better then a crappy pop fan.

  • @webmaster8040 I don't think you read the comment correctly. I am annoyed by the "new" fans who want to come in and start running their mouth about things that are not true, or just flat out idiotic. I agree with you 1000%. I think you just misread me.

  • @bananastan714 oh i think understand what you mean now.

  • @bananastan714 its just that sometimes some of the older fans act all superior just because they happened to discover the band before others did. some people act like only people who have been around since the begining deserve to listen to the music.

really it comes down to this, some new fans are obnoxious and some old fans are obnoxious but the rest of us should just enjoy this amazing gift instead of fighting amongst ourselves.

  • @bananastan714 thats my opinion

  • @webmaster8040 Exactly, I just wanted to see how many people agreed with me. And i don't think that older fans are entitled to anything, I like and enjoy "new" listeners, but i don't like the ones who come in disrespectful to the music. It is really hard music to understand. People get use to listening to popular stuff that they come and bad mouth this.

  • @bananastan714 People who would rather listen to pop music then wilco just have bad taste in music simple as that.

  • @adamnilbog i know, where the hell is the heavy metal drummer?

  • That guy is totally right. This is absolutely the worst hardcore metal song I've ever heard. Except for the whole pissing blood and setting the kids on fire part, thats totally hardcore. It's always good to think and read before you post huh?

  • The song might get good ...

  • i love everything they put out, but being there and summerteeth are my favs

  • That's a mean bass.

  • Reminds me of XTC at the beginning.

  • There are two kinds of people in this world:

Those who love Wilco, and those who should jump in a pool of gasoline and set themselves on fire.

    :-)

  • @myndseye711 thats a little harsh. what about people who have never heard a wilco song but would love the band if they heard it?

  • @myndseye711 which way to the pool?

  • @myndseye711 Agreed, but with one change. I would add a third kind of person. People who have not yet discovered Wilco and how awesome they are. We should give them a chance to learn before forsaking them.

  • @myndseye711 If everyone liked the same music, this planet would be a dull one.

  • Cool kids think that Yankee was their best album. Real Wilco fans appreciate and love everything made by these guys and have no time to compare albums, because each new one's just another amazing journey.

  • @monsteroffolk19 I venture to say YHT was there worst album. And to say that all of their albums are great, just because they're a good band, is foolish. Sure, it depends on what you like about them, but a -real- fan recongizes Tweedy's history, and that from Uncle Tupelo (one of the greatest bands of all time) he came a loud rocker. Should this album return to such origins, I'll be happy to listen.

  • @Zaddtheman Um. I'm not lying when I say that all their albums are great. I'm from St. Louis, and that's where Uncle Tupelo came from. I was at their last show at Mississippi Nights my friend. I'm kind of annoyed that you say it's foolish for me to like all their albums. When Ghost came out, I wasn't like "oh, I'm forcing myself to like this," I was like, "this is beautiful." Same goes for Sky, and The Album. Each is its own story. I love them all. Same goes for Loose Fur. ;)

  • Anybody: what Lennon song does this song most remind you of?

  • Jeffery did good

  • @adamnilbog are you a moron-this sounds great

  • @KOSMICKEN09 its called a joke,ever heard of one?
